Hims company offers the same thing, is this better or the same? They also have finesteride + minoxidil + biotin
Hims started offering something similar, but less powerful several months after we launched. What you should know is, the higher the dose of oral minoxidil, the greater the clinical effect, so our 5mg is a better deal than their 3mg. Also theirs isn’t a pill, it’s some kind of candy which may or may not be appealing.
Oral minoxidil caused me to have a lot of water retention. So much so I had to discontinue after two months, which was the worst because I lost all that hair during the shedding but didn’t get any of the benefits. Be very careful with oral minoxidil.
That’s extremely uncommon, but yes, there are potential side effects from any medication. When you say something like “be very careful with oral minoxidil” it just leads to fear though among the vast majority of patients that will only see great benefits from it. Oral minoxidil has been extensively tested SCIENTIFICALLY for its safety, and in low doses like 5MG that are taken for hair loss it has been proven in study after study to be very safe. All that said, there is a certain percentage that are gluten intolerant and can die from eating bread. It doesn’t seem like a good idea to tell people “be very careful when eating bread” though …because again, for most people eating bread is very safe.
I am a 64 year old female and have hair thinning that is devastating. Dermatologist said it is androgen alopecia. About one month ago started oral minoxidil 2.5 mg and spironolactone 100 mg daily. I also take Nutrafol which contains biotin. What do you think? Is Locklab better? Is it ok for females? What side affects are there? Facial hair growth etc?
locklab is formulated for men. Some doctors do prescribe finasteride to women but the dosage is different. Spirinolactone and oral minoxidil is a good treatment option for women but you want to give it at least 3/4 months to assess if anything has changed even if its just slightly.
The other person who responded is correct. Locklab is currently formulated for men. Though there might be a benefit to you as well since you are past childbearing years and can take finasteride. The 5MG of minoxidil will likely give you a bigger boost also.
It’s honestly probably at least worth a try for 6 months to see if you notice a visible improvement in that time vs. what you’re taking now.
Hey Dave ! Just wondering brother I’ve been on fin 1mg per day for 6 months and I think I’m going thru a shed (which I’m fine with but still worrying if it’s not haha), anyway when would you think about going on to dutasteride ? Thanks!
Are you on Locklab? Typically shedding is not something to worry about, especially if you’ve just recently started on oral minoxidil. Because your hair will shed as it makes way for thicker stronger hair to grow in its place. I would definitely suggest getting on Locklab if you live in the US, and if you don’t live in the US, then I would suggest finding the same ingredients wherever you live, which includes adding the 5 mg per day of oral minoxidil, before I would suggest you starting on dutasteride.

Theres a mistake in your video at 3:49, its not 5 mg finasteride , its 1.1 mg. Also what exactly is different from your finasteride formulation vs keeps/hims?
There are a few things that make Locklab a better choice than Keeps or Hims.
1. Our price is the best in the industry for the amount of medication that you get 1.1MG Finasteride 5MG Oral Minoxidil. how long would it take me to see results? i’ve been losing my hair since i was 15 years old and it had been one of the most devastating things ever. my crown is really thin and my hairline is receding badly. i have long thick hair all around but the crown and hairline are so thin. all the men in my family are balding or already bald so it feels like i was doomed from the beginning. i’m contemplating accepting my fate. i want to try this but so many companies are lying and profiting off of mens insecurities.
