I've thrown caution to the wind and am trying to use the backup feature. I'm using the MacOS app which often stalls and has a very small 5GB per month upload limit on the free tier.
It is all Baidu staff in Mainland China behind the company, which do all the developing and staffing and ultimately - control. It is held by Baidu as a subsidiary. Funding is by Baidu - Chinese Corp. Servers are in Japan, but all the backend is Chinese. Do NOT use this service to store sensitive stuff like your personal photos and IDs. Use it to store junk like pirate video & memes!
The current price is 3.49/month or 35.99/year, both auto-renew. The video shows 1.99/month several times and 3.49/month at other times. Did the price nearly double while you were reviewing the service?
