  • This is a 1995 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. Bone stock at the beginning of the video.
    Video should work for all Gen 1 Toyota tacomas and are VERY similar to later generations as well.
    Started my buddy's build with him by throwing on a two inch lift.
    Little did he know, his family and a friend helped pitch in for some new tires and wheels. Milestar Patagonia M/T 285/75/16 tires and Pro Comp 51 wheels.

    Man you guys are so awesome for topping that lift off with some new tires! Only wish he went with some Bilstein 5100 or OME for the front shocks instead of spacers tho haha

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He then on the spacers to see how much height the rear will give him.
      Once they settle out, we will likely throw in some new front end set up.

    what always surprises me about lift videos is most don't give you a good description...i.e is it 4 x2, year model trim..and lastly why the owner is doing the lift ..daily driver, offroading, baja racing etc

      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the tip. I have added that information into the description. I will also take that advice in mind for future videos.

    Love seeing another 95.5(without a swiss cheese frame) getting built up. I just started on mine.

      It's in very very good condition, minus a bit of a dent on one side from taking it out stock.
      Should have more building on this channel in the near future.
      Good luck on your build!

    I’ve got a 99 and I’ve just started. It’s in perfect condition and I’m about to do a lift. I managed a set of 33’s without a lift. Scrubbing a little right now but only when I turn.

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats awesome! I used to have a 95 pickup, the predecessor to tacoma. I miss it.
      They are awesome trucks!

      @@4WDTrek lol mine is such an odd ball. 95 thru 98 then there’s just the 99 then it goes from 2000 to 2004. So the problem I’m facing some of the parts are different. But every time I do an upgrade I love my truck more.

    A power nail driver works well for taking the front spring bolt off.

    Hey did you use the leaf pack with or without the extra leaf?

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  ปีที่แล้ว

      The leaf springs are Old Man Emu lift springs

    • @jacoblevenson422
      @jacoblevenson422 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@4WDTrek was curious though, it’s the standard kit? Not the one with the extra leaf?

    Great video. I just bought a 95’ and I’m looking do something very similar to this. When I looked up the old man emu leads though, they say they’re made for 98-04 Tacomas. Would they still work on the 95?

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  ปีที่แล้ว

      'I do believe they are the same for those years. My buddy had the same questions and we threw them on and they work. They do sit a bit higher than advertised however. And they will settle about an inch or so after a couple of months.

    • @bryanpotter4236

      95.5 - 97 had shorter springs on the first gen.

  • @johnnycage6780
    @johnnycage6780 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do both sides sit at same hight or is one side taller?

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both sides from right to left sit at the same height. The front sits a little bit lower than the rear does. Which we need to still fix.

      Thanks for replying what's the measurements for the rear ?? How much did it go up

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't have the exact measurements on that of the top of my head. But after about 3 weeks of driving, the rear end did drop down about half an inch after the springs settled.
