Everything is so much nicer here, all the buildings & houses looking newer, better jobs, pay, schools, etc. but I still miss Michigan. Those shitty big old houses broke up into apartments, they had character. When I've gone back to visit, I've noticed the air smells sharp, dangerous, but comfortingly familiar. I even miss that grey, oppressive atmosphere that gives the illusion that time is standing still. They don't have that stuff out here, haha.
