    Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that FREAKS me OUT!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

      You just get drowsy and fall asleep as if it’s natural. When I got my wisdom teeth out they gave me an injection that made me loopy. I don’t remember anything about the tooth removal, but I was apparently “awake” the whole time! For this surgery that wouldn’t be safe, so I was put under general anesthesia. They have you breathe deeply, which makes you drowsy, and then you kind of just naturally fall asleep. For me, my body didn’t panic and I didn’t feel like I was being “forced” asleep. When I woke up I felt really shitty and hungover, but that’s because I had some nausea from the anesthesia. It had nothing to do with the surgery itself.

      I was a little anxious while waiting for everything to start, but the surgery itself went really smoothly and the staff was really kind!

      Haha, thanks! I had seriously given up on the idea of ever having surgery--even for purely medical reasons--because I'm such a control-freak when it comes to my body. When I got my wisdom teeth pulled and had to be sedated I was an absolute wreck the night before.
      I'm not sure if it was because I had an entire month to sort of prepare and let things sink in or what, but for some reason I was really relaxed when it came time to lay down on the table. Julie was joking with me that I was the most laid-back patient that she'd ever seen, but I kind of just figured that if something goes wrong and I die, at least I'll have been unconscious/not in pain and I wouldn't care anyway as I'd be dead. Maybe that sounds really dark and morbid, but it stopped me from stressing out about it and, in the end, everything was perfectly fine!

    Wow Great video! I am coming to korea for rhinoplasty and chin surgery but I will need to use rib cartilage for my nose

      superman7136 They actually ended up (spoiler) not needing to even take any from my ear! Apparently I had a lot to work with when they opened everything up, haha. Each person is different, though, and even the most professional and experienced of doctors don’t know 100% what they’ll have to work with until they’re actually able to see inside.

      Unfortunately I moved back to the US in spring of 2020 because my grandparents weren’t doing well. But life has been good otherwise and I’m actually getting married this fall! My fiancé and I want to get back to Korea at some point but everything is so expensive these days 😅 But I hope you have a good trip and safe surgery 💕 Enjoy Korea!

    I did my nose too lol but different kinda of surgery, lift it up with a special material, but dad doesn't know. It's getting really popular in China but still a sensitive topic.

      Jun Fang omg you did?! When!? Yeah most Asians and Caucasians have opposite problems-we lower or shave down to reshape our profile, and many Asian people use implants to raise theirs.

      right, Asian's face is 2D, Caucasian is 3D

      Nomadic Madda were you asked by the doctor to bring in pics of noses you liked? For some reasons whenever doctors or their staff ask for that it makes me uncomfortable...

      Momo Kelly I was given the option, but they didn’t push for it. They told me if I wanted to I could, but I was too lazy to search, haha. I also figured it would be better to just let the doctor work on correcting/improving upon my features themselves instead of trying to “give” me someone else’s nose.
      VIP seemed to use them for clients to help explain what they wanted, though. Dr. Lee didn’t give me the impression that he likes to copy other noses or give everyone the same style. Everything we discussed was really specific to my current features.

    from a cosmetic point of view, and as a guy, I don't understand what's wrong with her original nose..it looks perfect..why even go through all of this surgery ??

    • @NomadicMadda
      @NomadicMadda  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My left nasal passage was almost completely blocked because my septum was deviated. Meaning, the middle part of my nose internally curved to the left so far that the space for airflow was super restricted. I had some minor cosmetic things that had always bothered me improved since I was having surgery anyway for the septal deviation. There’s a video that comes before this one that explains both the medical and cosmetic reasons for my surgery.
      But at the end of the day, if someone wanted to make a change that was purely aesthetic, that’s okay too. Just because a random stranger looks at someone once and thinks they “look fine” doesn’t mean a flaw or issue someone sees in the mirror every day magically won’t weigh on them or affect their self esteem anymore. If someone has saved the money and done the research and is making a change that only affects their body and mental health, I don’t think they should be judged or criticized for that. What we SHOULD be more critical of are the overly-photoshopped images on Instagram or in magazines that are creating serious cases of body dysmorphia in younger people.

      @@NomadicMadda ok, makes sense. I had a septoplasty myself when I was much younger, without cosmetic changes - basically had bones inside the nose broken up without opening the nose . But if they can do both cosmetic & septo in one go, it does makes sense indeed, although the risks are higher that something goes wrong, perhaps. At the end if you are happy that's great. How much did you pay in USD equivalent, roughly ?
