I have twins. My wife wanted more than 4 kids. But I had decided before married only one-child policy and stop! fortunately, at a time God gave us one 1boy and one girl. Currently, my twins are 7 years old. last 7 years, I did not give my wife another child. My decision was good. Now my wife has realized the current worse situation of the population of Pakistan and worldwide.
Government must punish people with 4-5 offspring by deprieving them of government jobs and subsidies....
This way population can be controlled in the country

You missed so many points.
1) early marriage
2) women is trained all her life to get marry and have kids. She is not encouraged to have a career. Even if she has, her marriage and kids can only be her priority.
3) a great number of people have arrange marriages. In such a society how can they prefer to have kids rather than give time to each other and know each other better.
4) pressure from society to get pregnant.
5) if things are going wrong in your marriage , they are told to get pregnant.
6) I have never heard of accidental pregnancies from Indians/ Bangladeshi/Nepali but Pakistani.
7) unplanned pregnancies and pregnancies in cousins marriages are so dangerous.
8) most of Pakistanis women I know had their C-section. Woman’s body needs 3 year from blood loss she had after that operation. And for natural birth it is 1 and a half year.
9) no gap between two pregnancies as they are told two kids will grow together and would be easier.
10) child birth needs proper planning. A women should start prenatal vitamins few months prior to trying for a baby to have a healthy pregnancy.
11) lack of acceptance that not every couple wants kids.
The 5th point literally means to destroy the innocent live just to save your marriage which never happens but that kid from a breaking marriage is gonna grow up a depressed adult

I once had a discussion on this topic with my class fellows. One of them, who was a cleric to be, said " look around, the soil that grew a few kilos of wheat now gives us yield in tonnes. A fisherman could catch a few fish a day but now large crew with their modern ships catch a thousand in minutes. Arab deserts were devoid of fresh water sources but now they are desalinating sea water and provide their population with drinkable water". he also gave many other examples emphasizing increase in food and water sources etc. His point was that with the increase in population, God has opened new doors for mankind to flourish and prosper.
That hit me and I was instantly convinced but latter on in my life, I rechallanged this thought as I gained more knowledge. For sure, we grow atleast 10 times more food than people grew 100s years ago from same land; but at what cost?
Artificial fertilizers and chemicals have destroyed soil, polluted rivers and sea. Fishing has wiped out half of marine fish population. Many forests are completely gone to accommodate new cities and wood demand. Many species are endangered. Big population needs big number of goods. Manufacturing such large amount of goods create so much pollution. Every middle class can buy car and boom so much carbon on the way.
Global warming on rise, water level rising, flood chances are high, climate change is a reality and main culprit is such a large number of humans on this planet.
We r destroying it slowly.
Science has helped us to live longer and grow more in number, so we should seek help from science and think rationally about population. Otherwise we will create our own doomsday

As referred to India's increasing Muslim population, if an Indian points this out he will be called religiously prejudiced man. Because in many aspects our mindset is similar.
The 2 point something growth rate includes the entire population of India. And if India did not have abhorrent Islamophobia, I would agree. Unfortunately, the track record of most hindus there (as shown by the election of extremist parties) stands in stark opposition.
Actually muslims have the most rapidly falling fertility rate in India that's why people will call you out because your position would be hypocritical. And it is no way near what is it in Pakistan.

This is exactly what I was doing with my uncle yesterday when I told him that Pakistan is running out of water and people do not have water to drink and where will they bring grain to grow. And there is no rain in Pakistan. They said the same stereotype that Allah will give us food and water. And that's what I expected from them. Growing population is the biggest threat to Pakistan. Let's be honest ISLAM is a big reason why we are such a poor nation. All we are taught is to be religious, get married and have multiple kids and have no idea about how to handle and manage money. Also it's another reason why we are so uneducated and left so far behind the rest of the world. Parents would rather send their kids to a madrassa to be brainwashed than to an actual school where they can learn things.

India's fertility rate has dropped below than 2.1 (according to recent gov data released few months ago)
2.1 fertility rate is globally accepted population replacement rate
And down South, it has fallen below replacement rate. I am a Bengali, living in AP. So here, last time I checked, the fertility rate is ~ 1.8. If my observation is right, here even momins have smaller families and I regularly see them in schools in significant numbers. Also we have a severe labor shortage here .But back home, it is really alarming. There momins DON'T attend regular schools. They have large families and I believe they have higher fertility rate, while Hindus have dropped dramatically (even 1.4 I guess). Add to that there is infiltration of especially Rohingyas. And didi supports it. If you go and see border districts like Murshidabad, it feels like you've gone to a completely different country. IDK man, I just ranted. I am just scared..

The thing is that the very first thing family members ask a new married couple is a child. When I heard my mother had 2 miscarriages (she was married at a very young age of 18, and when I was born she was 20) before giving birth to me and 2 after it, I lost all respect for my father. How a man can do such to her wife? Well in Pakistani society it's common.
A second important factor is played by society. When you are married and don't want a child or for some reason not having a child, people make fun of you, in a way that you lost a key to unlock everything in the universe. In pity they say, "aw such an unlucky man, he must have done some serious sin in the past..."
