I prefer aluminum as they glide better but not those long hooks as they tend to hurt my hands. I have a set of Love2Crochet and they are good too. Glad to see you were honest and said what you didn't like also, so I'll subscribe to your channel. Who doesn't love honesty.
Yes!! They still sell this Susan bates flexible afghan hook!! I just purchased one. I think Tunisian crochet is so much easier to teach a beginner and so I have one out of 3 daughters that wants to learn to crochet and I’ve been teaching her here and there bc she has such a busy life but next I’ll b teaching her this. The only thing I do t like is that the yarn curls. Wonder if there’s a way to stop it from doing that . Tfs. You have lovely hooks❤
I noticed one of your most recent videos first....about fountain pens (which I'm just getting started in).I enjoyed it.....so I checked out your channel & lo & behold, you talk about knitting & crocheting, afghan hooks . I have been crocheting for just shy of 51 yrs. I got into the Tunisian (that's a fairly new term for me....I always knew it as the afghan stitch & afghan hooks for years & years !) early on. The only afghan hooks I had for decades were the only ones available.....& that was long, metal ones w/a hook at just one end. These ones w/a cord are relatively new in the world of Tunisian (trying to teach myself to use that term now!) crocheting. I agree.....it makes such a nice thick stitch ! And it's so pretty.....& fun to do . I have a set (just 1) of the corded ones now & like them. I haven't made anything huge but if I ever want to , they will be the obvious choice because the long, old-fashioned ones have limited space on them, obviously ! I enjoyed this video very much.
I just got a brand new set of the clover hooks on eBay for $45! The gal was asking $55 but she took offers and I offered $45 and she accepted it! i’m brand new to Tunisian and wasn’t sure what to buy so it looks like I bought the right ones! I just found you today and I’m not having any success trying to get to your website. Is it not up and running anymore? I was hoping to find what you have on your website about Tunisian crochet.
I got the addi set and wanted the double so i found an other set on ebay for 30 total. The knook set is also the same hooks but includes a lifeline cord. I like them but i noticed the sizes rub off which makes me sad. Another idea for a stopper is the small needle point protectors. I think a few come in the set you linked.
What a great video! Really enjoyed your review. The Clover hooks are so pricey to get in Canada. I have a couple of Lauren Hill hardwood specialty Tunisians that are a joy to work with.
I recently got interested in tunisian and found I can do mosaic using the technique also. I bought the Knitter's Pride bamboo set (a good price right now on Amazon) but wanted a 4.5. Mm and larger than an L (in case) so bought 2 of the Ginger individual ones since all their cables work with all the interchangeable hooks and knitting needles. Also bought a swivel cable to try. Now I wonder about a 2 ended long hook to try tunisian in the round since I don't have 2 hooks the same size to put on a cable.
Thanks for sharing. I bought the set with the knitting needles and Tunisian hooks and there expense I like them but my favorite is the knitters pride ginger and Dreams.
This is a great video! I just recently bought a tunisian crochet hook set and there are a bunch of keys I'm not sure what to do with. I don't know how to use them. Can you point me to a video? I wasn't able to find anything while searching on TH-cam. Thanks!
Hi 👋 only thing I can think of quickly is check out the manufacturer website. They usually have good tips in the FAQ section about how to best use their keys
I have the Clover hooks and love them but am disappointed in the lack of sizes. I don't use the long kind as I find them uncomfortable. My daughter found a plastic set and so far I like them. They are like Denise's Interchangeable hooks. I found them on Amazon under $35.
I just taught myself the simple stitch last night so looking for a needle set. I used a fixed cable Afghan hook I found at hobby lobby and after the first row I said to myself that I need something with a pointier head. I also find it hard to hold as there’s no flat part on the handle like regular crochet hooks. I’m only 11 rows in on a dishcloth and think I can knit much faster than this, but I think it’s the non-pointy hook with the sugar n cream yarn that’s making it more difficult
I have Chiaogoo’s metal interchange needles (LOVE them) and can’t wait to get the compatible hook set. I plan on experimenting with blending knitting and crochet/Tunisian in the same piece. I also plan on getting the mini shorties since I want to make socks and have decided magic loop is not for me, going to try the two circulars method.

Wow! $45 US! I know this is two years ago but in Michael’s in Canada the price in 2024 March is $223 C.! Wish it was in my budget.
I feel your pain! The cheapest I have seen them lately is on Amazon for $72 USD
I love the knitter Pride Dreamz Tunisian hook set

If you get a smaller yarn than hook size…it seems to help with the curling issues. Larger hook seems to make a big difference.

Watching this video while finally mastering Tunisian Crochet, trying to decide which set to invest in and recovering from covid!
Feel better soon! This will definitely be a great way to pass that quarantine time.
Like you, I've been busy with learning tunisian!

Oh I’m sorry yes it’s down for the moment. I have to get it back up and running. Hope ur enjoying your Tunisian set

I love the look of Tunisian crochet and would love to learn how to do it some day.

I haven’t had a chance to try those yet. One day. :)
Thanks for sharing. Great information!!

Thank you for showing me how to do the tumbler. I’m doing 4 project for Father’s Day snd I liked very much how You showed!👍💁!
Love the Clover the best. Also love metal hooks but all so far have heads that are too rounded for me.
I seem to constantly gravitate to the clover too so far.
@@2tinytreasures I can’t locate the Clover Tunisian hooks above a size K. Checked Amazon and Ebay and Etsy. Do you use any other ideas for me? Thanks

I noticed your packaging picture says the smallest hooki s 3.75 but mine is 3.5. Is your smallest Addi Click 3.75?

The bamboo set by tulip makes it glide as good as knitting. The straight ones and round heads slow me down too

I’m eyeing them too…I love my chiaogoo needle sets so much! I wish they in particular would make a metal Tunisian hook set!
@@2tinytreasures I’ve been thinking the same thing, although so long as your yarn isn’t too grippy wood is nice to work with
I love my chiagoo mini set (red bag) for socks and the blue set for other things like sleeves
I love Denise hooks
My God! The clover set is $187 at Joann! Gadzooks!!
Wow 😮 I can’t believe how these prices have surged! Even with a coupon that’s still pretty steep.
Forty dollars! They are $209 in Michaels in Canada. August 2021.
They’ve gone up quite a bit here too but also used a coupon. So I just happened to buy at just the right time.
Thank You
Thank you 😊 welcome to the channel
Do u think long hooks is outdated?
They aren’t my first choice. I like the lightweight bamboo with cords the best. But it is good for beginners to try with an inexpensive start.
The bump is knit
