Just ran my first marathon with my cousin, and I do agree to the fact that after the first 30k it starts to be a battle of mind and will-power. The day after is absolutely the worst I have ever felt in my legs, and surprisingly also my shoulders are sore. But happy that I could overcome it and prove my mom wrong. Side note: I trained up for the marathon for about three months until I was injured for a month up to the marathon. The week before the marathon I ran a 5k and a 10k and believed in myself I could do it. The longest I have ever run before was a halfmarathon. Afterward I have not been feeling anything to the injury which was my biggest concern. I also broke my shin for like a year and a half, so for me to run a marathon was a big accomplishment - I am so proud of myself. My running time was 3h 45m 7s. Congratulations on your first ever marathon!
Ha ha yes I know what you mean about the shoulders too. The worst pain I’ve ever had was from a half marathon and it was in the shoulders. No idea why 🤷🏻♂️😂 well done on the time too. That’s a great time. Are you planning on more?
I am going to run the marathon in Copenhagen next year - my cousin and I were supposed to run it this year but due to COVID-19 it was canceled, and we both got a ticket for next year. I am glad I’ve got the experience of running a marathon now and now I am just looking forward to it and really excited about it. Now I also have a time to beat.
Well done sir! Congrats! Oh and On your “wrong turn”, I’ve done that myself. Running an overnight relay, I was the one who took the wrong turn! More embarrassing than anything else.
Thanks for putting this together as well as all the other videos you two have put together. I'm training for my first marathon in Feb and this helps a lot to give me some perspective. I have 2 half marathons under my belt but still feeling nervous. This video certainly helps quell my fears, thanks again! :)
Ha ha if only you’d have been there to shout it to me when I actually did get lost!! The thing that still haunts me to this day is that the athlete behind me saw me going the wrong way and didn’t shout anything 😤😂
