My son adopted a heeler from the pound, the owners rejected her because she was a 3 month old female heeler, best dog ever, my had other dogs, he takes them to the lake, on hikes, camping trips, etc. she does nip at the heels, I did research on her breed. She does howl when she's happy to see me, or other family members when she hasn't seen them for awhile, of course she sleeps with my son and another dog which is a golden lab, the heeler is a character, best dog ever, someone made a big mistake when they dumped that pup at the pound, their loss our gain. She is very smart, easily taught tricks, etc. the heelers have a very interesting background, originally bred in Australia, I watch you videos all day long. You bring joy to my life, our whole family are involved in rescuing dogs and transporting them to their forever homes. Thank you very much for all that you do do to help these beautiful dogs. Love this! I have a Cattle Dog/Pit Bull mix. He has the large, muscular body of the pit bull and the brains of the cattle dog. Plus I am never allowed to be alone. I have always had herding dogs but cattle dogs take the cake!❤
I found your channel when Wallace, Charlie, and Tilly were the only Evans’ family dogs. I remember vividly when Wallace passed and Charlie became everyone’s sweetheart. Then came Joey, and later Miss Cutie Pie. When the pandemic shut everything down and you took on the rescue dogs, all except Freddo got adopted, so he became an Evans as well. Since then, your pack has grown exponentially. With Tilly, once I knew her history, I was amazed at her agility and physical capabilities. With the loss of Wallace and Charlie, she became top dog based on seniority, ability and attitude. I love watching her ride through the bush with you, barking orders at the troops like the drill sergeant that she is. It’s a joy to see her enjoying her life and her position as queen of the Farm Long live the Queen! ❤

Now I know who the dog pack leader is. I can only imagine her original human looking at the life of Tilly being meant to be with this amazing family. She was meant to become your dog and she could not have been placed with better humans. Too many humans do not look into the Cattle dogs needs before they get one and they wind up being way too much dog for most humans. Thank you so much for teaching the importance of this to so many people. When we fail any dog we usually condemn them to death and it is horrible. I Veteran is likely one of the best Pack leaders today. Every dog deserves this and way too few get it. I've been Blessed to have and worked with so many in my life. My girl Kelly was a Staffie x Blue Heeler. She had the brains of a Heeler and the tenacity of the Staffie. She wouldn't flinch. Totally committed to whatever it was. I lost Kel to cancer, back in '19. She was 15. Kelly is the love of my life, no doubt. The cancer was really aggressive, and took her in about 3 months. I had her vet come to home to do what needed to be done, however horrible that was. I didn't want her to go, but I couldn't see Kel suffer, that wouldn't be right. I had her cremated and I'm going the same way, up the chimney, then my family know to take our ashes out to Slatey Creek, and let us go. Kel and I spent a lot of time out there. The Thursday before she went away, we went out there, had a last BBQ. Which was appropriate, as Kel claimed me at a BBQ, where she ran across a yard, and sat on my foot when she was 10 weeks old, no argument will be entered into. We were inseparable. I miss her incredibly, it will be 5 years in September.

I Veteran is likely one of the best Pack leaders today. Every dog deserves this and way too few get it. I've been Blessed to have and worked with so many in my life. They are better than most humans today and that is a sad statement. 🙏🙏 for Tilly

My girl Kelly was a Staffie x Blue Heeler. She had the brains of a Heeler and the tenacity of the Staffie. She wouldn't flinch. Totally committed to whatever it was. I lost Kel to cancer, back in '19. She was 15. Kelly is the love of my life, no doubt. The cancer was really aggressive, and took her in about 3 months. I had her vet come to home to do what needed to be done, however horrible that was. I didn't want her to go, but I couldn't see Kel suffer, that wouldn't be right. I had her cremated and I'm going the same way, up the chimney, then my family know to take our ashes out to Slatey Creek, and let us go. Kel and I spent a lot of time out there. The Thursday before she went away, we went out there, had a last BBQ. Which was appropriate, as Kel claimed me at a BBQ, where she ran across a yard, and sat on my foot when she was 10 weeks old, no argument will be entered into. We were inseparable. I miss her incredibly, it will be 5 years in September.
