Red Force at Ferrari Land has the same sound, but only louder. That is the best launch sound because it actually sounds like a race car, and fits the theme of Ferrari Land
„the first part is not that intense” -that’s the whole point and a feature that makes this ride so interesting; especially when you ride it for the first time you think “okay it’s cool pretty fast and so on but I imagined it more extreme” and then the second launch comes along - which is really a great experience in my opinion and makes is so much better than a ride which just goes 0-100 and then 100-0 back again
No airtime lol Taron is full of airtime, the one after the first launch is insane and then it whips you down to the right through a building and then snaps you to the right, the whole coaster is amazing, be hard to find anything that will beat it for me
I was a bit underwhelmed when I went to ride it this October. The transitions I found a bit meh and not great airtime. I prefer wodan to this coaster. It was a fun ride but for me nothing special. Maybe I got a slow day idk.
Currently my favorite coaster (above Steel vengeance and Fury). It’s just pure fun and not about intensity imo, the theming, atmosphere and soundtrack really elevate the coaster to the next level.
Finally someone who understands my obsession with simply watching coasters. I love riding them too, but man are they a joy to watch, especially a coaster like this.
We went on Taron first time two days ago. First ride (front) in the morning was really good. Next ride (back) was in the rain, minutes after it reopened after a light thunderstorm. And this one was absolutely insane. When we hit the brakes with soo much speed, everyone was just laughing and giggling for a few minutes... Next day third ride without rain was close to this... so it might depend on a few different factors. Maybe when the trains run a bit different one might be faster or slower cause they can't adjust to this.
I Think Taron is the best Attraction a Park can get. The ride really is for everyone, it has no Inversions so it doesnt look that fearsome to "normal" people, but at the same time its still a ride you tell people about being all hyped. Its just the perfect Crowd pleaser while also being a thrill ride enthusiasts are mostly talking very high of
I've been on Taron a few times now. I go to the Phantasialand 1 time a year (Because I'm from Germany) and I can tell that F.L.Y is going to be amazing too! In my opinion Raik seems a bit forgotten next to Taron but I love both rides a lot! Phantasialand is probably the best park in Germany
I would definitely say you get airtime after the trims. Not ejector, sure, but it's a great and fun floater moment, and it leads into a good turn with a great whip into the brakes
this has no story i give it a 5 on theme it has no story to it 5 for theme another 5 for story verbolten has both and its in america europes in hell now
the trains have been developed specially for Phantasialand. The trim on that airtime hill has been added as a TÜV requirement. But as you said, the ride is realy spectactular. The whole are is a pice of art!
I love this thing. There is not a lot of airtime moment, but that first hill after the first launch is amazing. best part for me is that second launch or that overbank after de second launch
Great review! Again, was an honor to share a ride on this with you! I'm excited to hear your thoughts on Kärnan, since I've finally ridden it myself a few days ago :)
I totally agree about the first part. The ride slows down too much, making you crawl through the last couple of corners before the second launch. The Trim isn't that annoying to me. On all the rides I had it just slowed you down a little and you still had airtime on the hill after it. I can see the need for it since the last corner is pretty intense as is. Maybe they should have put the trim after that hill though...
The reason why they used this trim is, that the final brake is so short. There wasn't anymore space to build a larger brake. The designer hate trims, but here he had to use one.
I have to that is one of the most intense coasters i have ever ridden . The launches are Superb along with two drops and at the front the force is unreal .
This is one of the most visually stunning coasters I have seen. VERY photogenic! I love the attention to theming in roller coasters overseas. I don’t recall seeing coasters with this much theming, throughout the ride, in America. I’m talking high speed coasters, not the Disney stuff.
Very good review as always Taylor! It's fair, gives a comprehensive insight into all the aspects of Taron, and your cinematography is very inspiring as per usual. Rode Taron a number of times last year and I pretty much agree with you, - including with the flaws of the first half. Notwithstanding, I think Taron is a supremely impressive effort from a creative viewpoint. Designing such a long and thrilling coaster in a very narrow spot of land is quite the achievement, even if the train does meander a bit towards the end of the first half. Taron made me fully realize how awesome twisty/snappyness can be, and is certainly a one of a kind ride. Looking forward to your next European reviews! Cheers from France,
I heared that they had to install the trim break at the end because the train could not be stopped on point at the end. So they needed to loose some more kinetic energy before the final break run.
this is my favourite ride of all time, only wrode it once, on a german trip, with my favourite teacher behind me, and my small friend next to me, perfect ride experience
Small width x height x length. no inversion. yet it is really good. All Americans say so. And they are pioneers. As European, such compliments are great pleasure to hear.
If you think about roller coaster dynamics, Taron is really different from a lot of coasters: Most have the long lift hill of anticipation, followed by a drop. At the bottom of that drop you have the highest speed and next come the first thrill element, be it an airtime hill or a vertical loop or whatever. And others have a launch, followed by a top hat or some other thrill element. Taron gives you some thrill in the beginning and then puts it up a notch in the middle.
The trim before you get to the final turn, they were not in the ride at the building of the coaster. They put them in later, otherwise, the last turn was much to hard to ride. At the end of part one, when it goes slow (before the last curv, when you go left right left on the ground. I would loved that there was a inline twist, then this goaster was a big 10!
The first time I rode this coaster it was the best thing ever, the second time I got a really bad ride on it, so bad that I thought even bluefire was better. The next time I ride it it's probably abkve bluefire again but that's why some people give bad reviews on this ride. If you've only ridden it when it was bad I can definitely understand why you wouldn't like it. I still love this ride though.
just for information, the break on the airtime is here because hif an train is still on the break run, so you habe been very unluncky because when 0 train are on the break run only one break is here, and you got a pretty good airtime
I recently went to Phantasialand and Taron was so god damn intense! It just rained and it was late in the day just before the park was closing AND it was 43 degrees celsius so that thing hauled. I curently prefer Taron over Kärnan!

No. That’s not me trying to be a smart-ass. Maverick has 2 inversions for starters, it also has a “lift hill” and beyond vertical drop. It also has a much more different layout compared to tarons compactness
Well...maverick is 105ft-talon is 98ft.maverik is compact-talon is also compact.maverik is 70mph-talon is 72 mph, that is fairly close, yes maverick does have a lift hill(I call it a launch but whatever) but maverick also has a separate launch halfway through. Not to Mention their track length is also close(sorry I can’t remember the tracks lengths).sure it’s not as close to maverick like The two single rail coasters are,but they do have a good number of similarities.
Phantasialand is my home Park and I rode Taron like 20 Times or more. In your Review you Said that the Trimbrakes would destroy the last bunny hop‘s Airtime before the train hits the brake run. Sure Trimsbrakes ain’t that nice for us coaster enthusiasts but every time I ride Taron I get floater Airtime on the bunny hops, I tested it out in every raw.
Please make your Top 25 for this year a Top 50! You’ve ridden so many rides it would be a disgrace to leave out so many! We wouldn’t mind the extra time either :)
Question, is the second half of the ride a 10 out of 10 by itself? Way back when the video game collection orange box came out there was a debate by critics over the fact that Half-Life2, Half-Life2 episode 1, Portal, and TF2 were nearly perfect but Half-Life2 episode 2 was only so-so with the result that the collection getting lower scores by some and perfect scores by others.
After riding it 50+ times at all different day times I really can say that the ride in general, and especially the "second part of the first half" is way better in the evening. But it is great to every daytime nevertheless
I think that taron is a very well themed coaster and the ride is pretty good and I made top 100 coasters in the world list on my computer and I put taron at 46
Having ridden this around 35 times on 5 different days now I gotta say that this ride is kind of situational, I had rides when even the first part was pretty tight and snappy and other rides where you really felt that it hasn't warmed up yet. But very reasonable review and nice footage!
2:30 That darn brake. Having ridden it myself I can confirm it is the only blemish on an otherwise incredible ride. This is a nit-pick it is still an incredible ride (quite possibly my all time favourite actually); but there I was gearing myself up for a great pop of ejector airtime and it just never happened.
Uhhhhhhhhhh how about Alton Towers ride The Smiler?!?!?!?! Pretty great uh theming my friend! And with all the inversions! And also the sound from the roar of the wheels B&M uses on all of the coasters they use it is a B&M RIGHT????!!!
There are technically the universal rides that are based on themes better but yeah. However, the new potter coaster will be more themed than anything else
I agree about the trim, that is Indeed unfortunate. But like most trims, they have to be there for some technical/safety issue. By the way, you should have given it 9.5/10 in my opinion.
It might be highly themed. Would you say it’s better themed than Revenge of the Mummy? Expedition Everest? Rock and Roller Coaster? Big Thunder Mountain Railroad???
