But there’s also another layer here, in that the production team, the training, & the LIVE PRODUCTION is on some future shit too. There’s NO QUESTION they sang this live, and they were AMAZING. But there’s also some LIVE filtering / mixing & production happening that’s equally impressive. The flange on Harvey’s voice at 2:36 is really obvious. You can hear the dips in the end of each line. Their whole performance is live auto-tuned. THAT DOESN’T MAKE IT LESS IMPRESSIVE!!! It’s just that, without their entire production crew at the soundboard in the background, this performance doesn’t have the same feeling. If they showed up at an open mic night at a bar & plugged an iPhone in with a karaoke version of the track, they would still sound AMAZING, but it would sound different.
