    I love the camaraderie between the two of you. I love how you've demystified that car. Ability to own any car is pretty much financial. A Range Rover is not immune to wear and tear which again require finances to fix. Thank you for this video my friend.

      Hi Royce, thank you so much for your very lovely comment, we are so glad that you enjoyed our video and found it valuable! Absolutely, as long as one sets money aside for repairs, any car can last and perform at its best. Thank you for your support, and stay tuned for the upcoming videos! A new one is coming tomorrow and, if all goes well, we're introducing a new project car next week! 😊

    Best car in the world.
    Over 30 years of RR ownership.
    Current 3.6 TDV8. Just had to dip into my pot , £3K new gearbox. Still cheaper than a new car. Now drives like a new car.
    Love them.

      119000 miles on clock

    For its age it's still pretty modern and that engine bay looked super clean. I am like you prefer buttons it's a very nice car and you must feel great driving it , I would love to own one of these esp with the luxury inside with all the mod cons. Great to see you do your own service work and also keep money aside for future repairs , too many people buy these for the status symbol then dont spend a penny on it and leave it to rot then complain about Range Rovers.

      Hi Joseph, welcome to our channel! 😊 Thank you very much for the positive comment. Perhaps have a look online, the L322s are going very cheap on the market at the moment, but you'd have to be willing to put in the time and effort to fix them and look after them. They are really nice cars, very comfortable to drive. Keep in touch! 😊

    It's a lovely car. I want either that or the 4.4, I have a 2011 3.0 TDV6 sport HSEas my first Range rover and it is a lovely car but I do yearn for the autobiography bells and whistles like the diesel pre-heater and cooling seats. You're absolutely right about having the money to fix it though, people need to realise if they are considering getting one it's a very old car which used to be extremely expensive and costs a fair bit to look after. Love the videos keep it up you two 👍

      Hi, welcome to our channel! 👋🏻 Thank you so much for the lovely comment and the great feedback, we appreciate having you here 😊 To be honest, these additional features that come with an Autobiography are very nice, but they're not the be all and end all. At the end of the day, they are all beautiful cars. With regards to the pre-heater, some cars have them already fitted but you'd just need to buy an additional fob, but I'm not too sure about the details on this though. I'd recommend searching it! I totally agree with you regarding the costs; just like anything else, an older car could mean higher wear and tear, so people need to have realistic expectations from the start. Keep in touch! 😊

    I think this model is the peak of the Range Rover line, the later ones are no where near as nice to use, it also has the right size, the later ones being far t big, (or too small), to fulfil the slot that these fill, and maintained with nothing more than common sense, they go o without problems, the trouble starts when owners use cheap inferior replacement parts, many thanks for posting this walk around, there are many small facilities that you failed to mention, but then there are just so many to cover the video would be an hour long! Hi Chris, I like your comment. I agree with your points, this is why we try to work on these cars and make them last as long as possible because we get a lot out of them. @@lifeasusual Hi, well I have owned the L322 a few years ago it was the V8 4.4 Petrol and I put LPG on it and to be honest ever I only spent a very small amount of cash on it, and it never let me down and the ride is far more better, as I got my first 05 Sport 2.7 (L320) and that is where the spending of money started, 2 years later I got a 2011 sport 3.0 twin turbo (L320) better power, Faster Better fuel but still cost of repairs are silly, if it wasn't for my son to do the repairs it would go into the thousands and that is just in 2 years, and to one of your videos I owned all 3 of them so going back to a L322 but the TDV8 3.6 so in my own opinion stay with the L322

    @shanewaterman4125 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hi Fayed - I love your philosophical approach to owning a car, whether that's a Range Rover or anything else. What you say is absolutely correct - if you're worried about the running and maintenance cost of ANY car, then it's probably not right for you. In the case of an RR, especially a secondhand one, you need to ask yourself why you want/need that car. I'm looking for a 4.4 tdv8 because I have a gazebo hire business and we need to access fields, large gardens etc often in prestige locations. We need a vehicle that can pull a trailer in and out of places like that - and itself - regardless of the weather. A Range Rover can do all that and more. The other option for me would be a boring car plus a van. But vans rarely come with 4wd or the go anywhere capability of a Range Rover. Okay it's going to cost me in the region of £1,500 a year just to put it on the road (tax and insurance) but the business pays for it. It also looks the part in a way that a Ford Ranger doesn't (my other option). Also, as you demonstrate in your videos, an RR is a surprisingly DIY vehicle. Sure there are things I wouldn't attempt - kudos to you for taking on the manifold gaskets! Think I'd draw a line at that one !! A lot of what you see on Facebook and forums with owners moaning about their car when it's done this, or won't do that come from them simply not doing their homework. Going into RR ownership with your eyes fully open is a must.

    • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shane, I completely agree with you! 💯 The Range Rovers have a great capability and I think it's a very good choice for your business. You're covered both in the aspect of the car and in the fact that it can pull the trailer on all sorts of terrains!👍 Doing your homework is extremely important, and if we look after our cars, they'll look after us. 😊

      @lifeasusual  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Adzy, thank you so much for the comment and the appreciation! 😊 Great minds think alike - for the past month, I have been looking to purchase the L405 to keep alongside the L322 and to make additional videos on the L405 to compare similar jobs on both cars to see and test if the L405 is as DIY friendly as the L322. But so far, I have not found the correct L405 for me, for a few different reasons because I envision my videos in a certain way. So I am waiting for the correct one that would suit this channel, which if I'm honest with you, it's going to take longer than usual, so it could be a bit of a while to introduce an L405 to this channel. But definitely, it is in the works and scheduled in the diary! ✨️👍🏻

      @@lifeasusual excellent! I’m looking forward to that. I’m keeping a close eye on car buying platforms. I’m not sure which year is the sweet spot for L405s as I’m not keen on the proliferation of touch screen controls. as much as I’d like another petrol Rangie I don’t think it’s practical for doing a daily 150 mile round trip commute - but that’s another story wanting to daily my next Rangie, I should just get a Prius !

    • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, of course, as you know, the L405 starts from 2013. In 2015, they made subtle changes in the ECU. Not many people know about it, but it's only subtle. Then, from 2017/2018, they changed the middle screen/infotainment system, and in 2019, they changed the infotainment system again, with the AC unit being touchscreen.

      @@lifeasusual hi guys
      Yes it’s normal for bigger engined cars to pay crazy tax. So in the uk and Germany a disco 3 or RR would be €650 or £600. In Ireland the same car is €1800. After 2008 it got worse and the disco 4 is roughly €2400 to tax every year. Our idiot government wants us to tow or trailers safely with our bicycles. It’s very frustrating.
      I now also have the lovely task of fixing an oil leak or 2! So I’m watching your older videos with much interest.

      Hi Eoghan, apologies the delayed response! Wow, that's so expensive! Does that mean that the retail prices for the big Land Rovers are cheaper than in the UK? • @lifeasusual
      @lifeasusual  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, for £18k you could either of them, it just depends on how often you would use it, and the duration of each trip, because the 3.6 doesn't come with DPF whereas the 4.4 comes with DPF (diesel particulate filter) so the 3.6 is a little bit more forgiving when it comes to short trips. Ahh, no worries Peter, I know what you mean 👍🏻 There were a few jobs we did on this car but it was a pleasure working on it, I had some hiccups but we got there in the end. And we still have plenty more projects coming up 😁 Are you going to release some videos with the work you'll be doing to your car? 😊

    For the 3.6 v8 engine every 6k miles change the oil use castrol 5w30 not cheap crap delete the egr valves the cant take your turbos out and as i said before at its age swap the air for coil springs big thing is delete the egrs diesels are for driving not short trips

      @@lifeasusual your welcome mate iv the range rover sport 3.6 same engine as yours turbos are your big 1 if the go its over 3k thats why i say delete your egrs the biggest problem with 4x4 diesels is they go around town thats not good short trips are killers for new diesels

      Disagree with the change to springs. Might make more sense on a LR but a RR is meant to have gadgets.
      It's very handy when using trailers, too.

      @@lifeasusual My old neighbour has a L322 for his garden business. A diesel. I cannot write all that went wrong. Yes you can service it yourself changing oil and some filters as you do. But once the air suspension goed or other suspension stuff you need the right tools. Not speaking about all electronic sheit that goes bust. I work worldwide in oil and gas and we use only Toyota for a good reason. Reliablity.
