What baffles me about all these options is that they are far more expensive than an onsite stick-built unit of similar size. $127k for 200sq ft? That's $600/sq.ft. which is double what normal construction costs... I thought the point of factory built homes was to reduce the cost, not double it....
It's finished with appliances It's high end It's small and go places a home reg home can't It can be moved Even though it's a lot per foot it's less total cost Many of us want small
I have to agree with you. The reason many people are looking for a prefab home is to keep construction time and cost low. Until they align with those needs I am not interested in the least.
Hell, I work in a mobile home factory and we produce high-end customizable mobile homes that you could house a family in starting at prices slightly more than these. We have a tiny home manufacturer adjacent to us and they sell what are essentially sheds for 60+k. This entire movement was ruined when these became vacation rentals, "spaces" and other commodities other than easily maintained dwellings that were intended to be far cheaper than a standard home. Granted in some markets these prices are cheap but in everyday America these prices are ludacris and are intended for hipsters and trendsters with far too much money.
Yeah, I'm with you. What I basically want is a single-wide, except 1) it has high-quality materials, 2) has at least *some* exterior style, and 3) is built to a non-HUD standard.

Hi, love this video. Do you know what town/ city they have these in in New Jersey? I live here and I'm having a really hard time finding tiny house friendly towns in North New Jersey
The buildings are stunning and in the right location would look amazing. I am not sure about a space in which one cannot open a window for ventilation, though. That seems like a big oversight.
Watched a YT couple recently that found out the hard way, in regards to a stipulation in Tenn., only that they don't allow 'importing' units from outside the state, which they did...and in which they did extensive researching on permits prior, and much more, but then the 'very fine print' was so hidden, after they had the unit all set up, it even took a lawyer some time to uncover!
It would be very helpful to know appropriate shipping costs to the states. Also, set up costs can be high. Very cool product, but I suspect the “all in” cost is going to be very high. Bottom line, modular homes are not cost effective unless they are built within a reasonable distance from the site and set up costs can be very high.
I like this one. I'm looking for an in-law type dwelling for visitors to use since my house is very small. Where can I find this to do more investigation. I have to make sure my state will allow this. Thanks

Kerry, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary you are pronouncing 'pronounce' correctly. On their website you can click and hear the word pronounced for you.
Sadly, any carpenter could put one of these together with a Home delivery from a lumber store in two days. Compare that to a trip across the ocean, a semi truck bringing it to your job site and then getting a crane to set it.
The glass isn't that expensive, not like impact glass. I'm in the construction trade here in SWFL. The more expensive homes are approx 600-800 per sqft. The mega weathly, thousands per sqft.
My concern with these homes and bears, would be if bear sees it's reflection, thinks it's a rival, and charges. But I don't like the mirrored look, but that's my personal taste.
What about some fresh air flow? Looks great but if I want to breath air-conditioned air I can rent a hotel room. What is the purpose of being in the outdoors and being locked in a glass box?
So, with 3 sides of glass walls, there is nearly no R value to the space meaning it is going to cost a fortune keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. So much for energy efficiency and helping out the planet by using less energy.
I absolutely love large windows but unless they actually test the glass for bird strike and prove it’s a non issue , they are doing some serious damage to ecosystem. The “ ae, we put some stickers in the glass “ isn’t much of a comfort. I have a 7’x6’ window . I had to quite a bit to stop the bird strikes, stickers did nothing to stop the birds. I’m curious if this high reflection glass is heating up everything in its path. Hopefully the glass being flat is the ticket. If they did the research , kudos to them if not, well they have an obligation to go the right thing. Some semi curved reflective buildings are causing things to catch fire and doing real damage to the vehicles sitting along the street below them. I love this look, but it comes with concerns, like blinding he shit out of everything around it.
The more windows a building has, the more I feel like a sitting duck, or a fish in a fishbowl surrounded by cats. But this is just OUR perception. This is cute, but I would not even use it for an office for the same reason. Especially, when help is more than 30 minutes away. However, we do appreciate all of your research, and it is nice to know what is available although, it is not available for me. Also, I almost sent you a video of a woman who had a similar product, and woke up to a pack of six wolves snarling at her through her bedroom window. Luckily for you, I am not smart enough to remember on which platform, I saw it, or tech savvy enough to tag you.
maybe I'm the only one thinking this is all about the mirrored glass? Its a wow factor, all tree and no roots...a wall of curtains ? you would spend alot of time blocking out light and heat in the summer and closing blinds to keep in the heat in the winter. Its a shoebox. how does the roof drain? I assume you install an air conditioner or heater on the non glass wall or the "extension" like in your first version shown. vinyl stickers? the interior is unimaginative. this reflects all attention on the mirrored exterior - ah hem. I find other designs more thoroughly thought out in design inside and out.
How are they able to ship to all forty eight states. When in the boxabl videos, they are talking about meeting a universal standard before they can ship everywhere?
What baffles me about all these options is that they are far more expensive than an onsite stick-built unit of similar size. $127k for 200sq ft? That's $600/sq.ft. which is double what normal construction costs... I thought the point of factory built homes was to reduce the cost, not double it....

Haha
Sadly, any carpenter could put one of these together with a Home delivery from a lumber store in two days. Compare that to a trip across the ocean, a semi truck bringing it to your job site and then getting a crane to set it.
How on earth do you keep them clean?
The glass isn't that expensive, not like impact glass. I'm in the construction trade here in SWFL. The more expensive homes are approx 600-800 per sqft. The mega weathly, thousands per sqft.
My concern with these homes and bears, would be if bear sees it's reflection, thinks it's a rival, and charges. But I don't like the mirrored look, but that's my personal taste.
Legit question.
And what would it cost to replace?🫣
The 3 sides of mirrored glass is a fantastic idea. I am a huge fan of modern looking dwellings & the Scandivian style. 😁
Thanks for watching Brandon!
What a fun space. Fantastic Air B&B but for everyday living, I'm not sure it's liveable.
I'll probably have to stop throwing stones
Haha
Folks worry about things that don't matter & fail to worry about things that do....
I would love this in the desert.
That would be cool
SHOTS FIRED😂😂😂🎉
Haha
What about some fresh air flow? Looks great but if I want to breath air-conditioned air I can rent a hotel room. What is the purpose of being in the outdoors and being locked in a glass box?
So, with 3 sides of glass walls, there is nearly no R value to the space meaning it is going to cost a fortune keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. So much for energy efficiency and helping out the planet by using less energy.
Beautiful. Storage?
I’ll take two! 🎉
Same here
How many birds plow into that mirrored glass over time?
The looks are striking. Striking out, that is. Love your log cabin.
Thank you 🙌🏼
The more windows a building has, the more I feel like a sitting duck, or a fish in a fishbowl surrounded by cats.
Do you have any updates on the Ood house?
Yeah just posted one on Sunday!
maybe I'm the only one thinking this is all about the mirrored glass?
Kerry, check out the prefab Futuro house from Cortes Campers.
Will do thanks
