ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

I enjoy the fact that Janet's "character journey" is essentially just a summary of the entire series.
Everyones' character journey is like that
actually if ypu dont watch the show Janet'd character journey would be so confusing because they dont explain the story in general
she was there a lot so
Yes this is the plot but before you’ve seen the show it makes literally NO sense
Now that I’m done I rewatched it and it’s much easier to understand

When D’arcy surpasses Julia Louie Dreyfus one day, us Good Place fans will look back at this and say ‘we knew it all along, look at our little Janet all grown up! *wipes tear’
Like the real pro she is, she makes it _look_ effortless. In interviews, she's talked about what she had to go through, for weeks, preparing to play all the main characters in the 'Janets' episode.
Especially in that episode in the void

Honestly D’Arcy has the best acting skills among all of them!!! She plays good Janet, bad Janet, Jeanette, Chidi as Janet, Eleanor as Janet, Tahani as Janet, and Jason as Janet, and none of these characters make you feel unreal. She’s legitimately the best actor in this series.

Mid Season finale has me crying.
When Janet kissed her friend Chidi on the cheek before he got his memory wiped I was like "my not girl and not robot is showing her feelings in such a human way!"
Honestly , when Janet cried when Eleanor was leaving that’s what got to me at that point I was bawling
I loved the episode “Janet(s)” because I kept on thinking how fun it must be for D’Arcy Carden to play 5 different people and the bad Janet

Truth is. This is a combination of first class writing, direction, casting, and acting.
When this show was being put together, there were only two Stars. Now each of the other actors has had the chance to show off how deserving they are of a national spotlight.
The brilliance of the creation that is Janet isn't just one or two of the things I mentioned, but an amalgamation of all of those factors - combined with playing to the strengths of each performer.
It honestly makes me very sad that this show is going to be ending soon. I don't doubt it will wrap up just dandy, with me sobbing loudly into my living room, holding my beloved Hubby close... But I don't want it to end.

It actually is bonkers. Or at least it was till it redefined what a Network sitcom could be.
How did D'Arcy Carden never win an Emmy for The Good Place?
She got nominated though
Because Emmys, Oscars, Globes, etc. have nothing to do with how good an actor someone is.
Seeing season 1 Janet again but then remembering her final moment on the show, you can truly see how much she has evolved.

Watching this 6 minute synopsis made me realize just how bananas the plot of this show is. I thought maybe I was having a stroke.

Janet is the universe.. It makes perfect sense that Jason is her true love... He is in a constant state of receptivity
i love how all the characters in this show are actually likeable
She can remember everything... The reboot only screw her knowledge for some time but having all the knowledge to de universe she always remember everything.
Janet tied with Jason for my favorite character pretty quickly. Watching them marry and having Janet hold their relationship through her murders made me swoon.

I just spent the last 3 days binge watching the entire series. The amount of feels, cute chills and fluster feelings i’ve felt from D’Arcy’s performance made me LOOOOOOOVEEE the series. This character seems so basic at the beginning but gets more complex with time and gets a little bit more human staying true to its principles. Such amazing writing, acting and produced show. Loved every minute of it.

Janet is the Mike Ehrmantraut of 'The Good Place', an originally ad hoc supporting character that became a fan favorite and scene stealer.
Brilliant character, things were always fun when she was on the screen.

WHO is God in this show?
The Judge or Janet?
Neither. All religions are about 5% right. So there is likely not one being that looks over everything. Janet is originally there to help the architect and residents of the neighbourhood. Since they can ask for anything, she needs access to all the information in the universe and the ability to create whatever is asked of her. The Judge is literally a judge. She rules over disputes. Since she is only needed if a dispute occurs, she has no day to day interaction with the good and bad place and just chills in her chambers.
The Judge doesnt talk like this is her system and she definitely didnt make things as they are now nor does she even have detailed info about what is going on outside her courtroom. She is definitely not god.
My answer, Eleanor is god. A little Jeremy Bearimy and Eleanor will be the one at the beginning of everything.

@@mattjones6578 I doubt it. She isnt a hidden creator, she is a cog in the wheel just like everyone else. She has a specific role and only something greater than her cpuldve decided the rules she has to work within. And she does make it very clear that there are rules she has to work within.
