      I see where you're coming from, but these are custom made things, not like a Renault Megane Trophy R sat at dealerships with £30k discounts because nobody buys them. If someone stumps up the money for it, they'll build it, otherwise they won't bother 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I've seen some journos try to call it the Singer version of a Mini, but it's nowhere near that level of enginerring. It's beautiful and well put together but that price tag is insane. Imagine what RetroPower could build you if you had £100k to spend on a Mini?

    Very likeable. It cost 67% more than I expected. It’s clear that it takes a lot to arrive at the end result and, all of that end result would be hand built and hand fettled and take several person hours over several weeks and locations to complete. It looked fantastic fun. Most will never be driven hard enough to show the advantages. I wouldn’t say no if someone gifted me one for my birthday! Whoa was that a unicorn galloping by?

Those £100000 cars are effectively brand new and buying similar standard restomods on the market cost just as such. Porsche based restomods can cost £300000. The price is not high as you think.

Priced at £10,995. You could buy that Mini AND a Yaris GR AND a Caterham 7 for less than the cost of an Oselli Edition Mini. I know what I'd rather see when I open my garage door...

    They say it has 125bhp at 6200rpm. There is no way it has that much power so low in the rev range. It is 1450cc ok, but mini miglias have 1293cc that pumps out 130 bhp at 7k minimum and they don't idle well under 2000 rpm. I'm pretty sure that if you dyno it, you will only find 100 to 110 ponies tops. A 120+ hp N/A mini is not something daily driveable. A 100 bhp mini on the other hand, can. If they put a compressor or a turbo on it, then it's another thing.

    • @thomasclougher2281
      @thomasclougher2281 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My brothers 1300 just dynoed 93bhp at 5500, and that's had less work done to it, so definitely possible.

    • @TheThunderwars
      @TheThunderwars 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomasclougher2281 I would wage for an optimistic dyno. 93bhp is exactly what a stock turbocharged 1275cc A series engine pumps out. To get that from a NA engine, you'd need a fairly spiced cam (let's say 276), a high ratio rocker if the cam has not enough lift intrinsically, a well ported head and a CR above 10.5:1. Carburation can be anything from twin HS4 to a HIF44. It will be very pleasant engine to drive and may get that kind of power. 100bhp daily driveable is possible with very high CR to compensate for high duration cams, a spot on ignition and a well tuned carburation. 100 bhp in a mini with a torque curve peaking at around 4000 to 4500 is a joy to drive, trust me.

      That's when I sold mine. When it ran it was very very nice: 1275, straight cut gears, Minilites and Dunlops.

      You need to get a rubber glove snip off the finger tips and place it over the distributor and leads and cable tie each opening.

    Back in the 70s when I was a kid a bunch of my friends had HiPo Minis the daddy of all was an Osilli engined 1275 stroked and bored out to something at 140+ bhp at the wheels and it ran 6" semi slicks at the front and 4s at the back. In those days you had to remove the speedo and some of the firewall to let the Webbers into the passenger compartment.

    Looks like an absolute hoot to drive, but sadly at that price I can't see many of them hitting the track or the road. I think they are more likely to become ornaments gathering dust in the corner of some fancy loft apartment/warehouse which is a real shame. I'd like to think that my Mini creates just as many smiles to the gallon for significantly less.

    Good luck selling that! You can get a Caterham and a 205 GTI if you just want a fun toy. Each of them is a better option all day by itself, but you will get two toys and still have lots of money for tires, brakes, fuel and track day entries.
    If you want you can buy a very good, new, very fast car instead. Or maybe a big part of an house?
    Why is everyone trying to get rich just selling a handful of cars?
    I just hope no one buys it, even those that 100K feel like 100 for the average worker.

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more....:-((
