Polestar made a huge mistake engaging with you. TH-camrs are all about content, outrageous claims, and clickbait. You’re going to milk this exposure for as long as possible. When they finally realize their mistake and stop engaging with you, you’ll give it one last squeeze by claiming they’re furious because you “uncovered the truth.” As for the PS4, setting aside internet-polluting agents, it is an incredible car.
How about the release a FINISHED PRODUCT next time?

Damn I think Polestar 3 and 4 are on of the best EV:s out there. Yes it has some smal bugs but the ride handling and quality is excellent
Calling the Polestar4 the worst car of 2024 beacuse of driver assist system is just crazy.I have a dual motor with plus pack only.The car works fine for those who can steer,and change lanes ourselves.But the car need more software updates.Preheat of the battery etc,and some tuning of the AC.Overall im very happy with mine.It looks good,and drives well.Plenty big enough inside.
Yes, mainly because it was the least finished car I tested last year, it is also the worst. How could I rate an incomplete car higher when every other car I tested last year was much more finished? I loses by default.
Thanks Kris, some of us actually watch the full video and consider your points before commenting. Obviously some of the people commenting own these cars and are so far up their own butts about their feelings on the subject that the second you disagree with them they throw a fit..

I tested the p2 for 5 years ago, and i didnt like it, and was a little sceptical when i was going to test p4, but i just loved it from the start. Interior the best car i have ever seen , it felt so good and it was so silent ( i had tesla 3 2019, so everthing is betther than that though,) But also my sister did agree that this was best car she had sat in, and she is used to bmw.
I disagree with your opinion on the Kia EV9 because it won the 2024 World Car of the Year.
He didn't like IONIQ 5 either and it also won World Car of the Year.

I think you had valid points on all of the cars on the list. Even though some were bit surprising like the EV9. But yea, Xpeng G9 is much more luxurious and around the same price range. For example.
The EV9 is in my garage on a 2 year lease but that's because i could get it for a third of the monthly fee of an EX90 (which isn't even a complete experience yet)
That makes sense and you are in a different ball park - I would do the same if I would need a 3 row EV
Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo (326HK) was the worst car I drove this year. Slow, too high mounted steering wheel, dated E-Golf-alike infotainment, too much grey cheap-looking plastic, fake-engine sound ridiculously more aggressive than the felt speed, no one-pedal-driving, too cramped inside and too big/heavy...
I have a Kia EV9 GT Line almost for a year, but both my wife and I love it. We are absolutely satisfied with it. Yes, we could buy a more luxury SUV, but come on, those are 20 -25% more expensive. So please compare the apple with apple! That it's true the air suspension is misding from this car. It would deserve it. By the way our previous car Mercedes Benz V300 d Exclusive also hadn't air suspension. Ant that was a luxurious car.
So wonderful that someone dares to point out that Tesla is not the best car, far too minimalistic. Volvo falls into the same trap with its ex30. Technology in all its glory, but don't take away too much of what should be in a car. Thank you for such an honest and great review

Interesting list 🤔 Personally I would switch places for the Polestar 4 and Tesla M3 Highland.. Polestar have a software challenge. Tesla hardware.. There's so much to praise the M3 for, but for me the lack of stalks made it the worst best car I drove in 2024. For me the stalk situation was a dealbreaker. And still are. Equivalent to the minimalistic EX30.. That's also the worst best car from 2024. So close but yet so far
It is insane that such a big "expert" such as Kris still steps on the same land mine as boomer customers who think EV9 is still a 2006 Kia Rio. It is just mad to suggest buying a EX90 over EV9 including all the shitshow EX30 and also the EX90 launch with all the suspicious and ridiculous "reasons" of delay. Volvo sends some alibaba keytags as a "thank you" for ordering 100grand car two years ago. That is not a luxury brand. Luxury brand will treat customers with honest transparent info and Volvo has done nothing close to that. EX30 is also still like a "beta"-tester car full for frigging weird inconviences. Especially in northern counry it has reportedly stupid amount of aircon issues, sensor issues, AWD-logic issues etc. Also local Volvo dealers are inbedded in queues for diagnostics because early customers have had an impulse buy on a "Volvo" and "Electric car" and forgot its roots are chinese and its chinese manufactured. EX30 is not a 'True Volvo' and EX90 is on its path to f up also the "Big Volvos" into the same shitshow.
Kris you have gotten really arrogant lately in your videos like you would be some EV god who knows everything. Kia not being a "premium brand" does not mean the cars are not goddamn great. Volvo is becoming more and more just a surfer on the good old days brand and has forgotten the actual producs. Volvo badge cant haul my trailer if the specs and pricing are out of the roof, but a 300kg higher towing capacity can and over double the warranty to make stay on the read with reasonable costs.

Not only are you categorically misrepresenting what I am saying, you are claiming I have views and opinions that are so far from anything I've ever said about any Kia ever. @@KrisRifa In Norway you are living in a bubble. Norway as a market is like night to day compared to general market globaly. You should know this. Certain manufacturers hold Norway market and do forced market share in therms of pricing for marketing purposes. You know this we all know this.
Volvo as a brand is not even close to the "glory days" of 70',80's,90's and early 00's even.
Geely has brought more tech yes, but treating customers, handling service work, answering and fixing issues absolutely not. Can you say that your experience with ordering the EX90 back then all the way to canceling was a premium brand service?
Volvo is a strong brand, but it is also getting alot of "forgiveness" because of its brand status. If a Kia has a feature and a Volvo has a feature the Volvos feature is automaticaly assumed to be better quality. You know that this is not the case all across the car. Not even close. Yes you get some nicer stiching, material usage etc. more of a "loungy" feeling because of that.
But do you think that the EX90 price premium covers all that? In my market is 30% more bare minimum and percentagewise major leasing companies are giving it like 10-15% lower residual value over 3 year company car lease. Expected drop of value over 3 years company lease with 30.000km per year in my market is almost 45.000 euros more on the Volvo compared to Kia. Products and brand are not aligned.
@@Harhawink chill out dude, how are you reading so much in between the lines? I was merely comparing two cars I have both driven and sharing facts. In Norway the EV9 is very close in price to the EX90, and the EX90 is a much better car imo. I never said anything about any other Kia or Volvo product. All of that is very transparent in the video.
Volvo must be cheap up there. Because in Portugal same spec EV9 volvo would be 30/40% more expensive. So this is very surprising

Okay. This is huge. As a viewer who respects your opinion a lot, ranking the Polestar 4 in the top spot will influence my decision making radically. Since I will need to buy a new car in the coming 2-3 months and having leaned strongly towards the 4, your brutal verdict ("unfinished car") will change my direction. To be honest, following all (?) your pieces about the Polestar 4 didn't give me a hint that you were that unhappy with the car. Thank you for clearing this up - even though it makes me sad that I will have to move away from Polestar, which I like as a brand (2 being too small, 3 being too expensive)
I’d strongly recommend using multiple sources beyond this channel to finalize your decision about the Polestar 4. Even more importantly, I suggest booking a test drive-ideally for a day or a weekend-so you can form your own opinion. The car is definitely not as bad as described here, and experiencing it firsthand might give you a more balanced perspective.
Sorry to say, but for me, Kris looks like he’s taking the wrong road with his channel by adopting such a very negative view on these cars-at least that’s his very personal impression. As a long-term follower, I really feel he’s moving toward a clickbait approach, as these videos with such titles and content seem to generate far more clicks than the usual ones. Very sad for this channel.
Putting the Polstar 4 on this list discredits the work you yourself have done in your tests of the car. During your tests you identified some software bugs (most of which can be corrected). You made a video about positive aspects of the car (it almost seemed like the car of the year to you). And now in this video it is the car on the top of the list to not buy in 2024?! Crazy!
Ok, maybe software of the car is not finished or requires turning , but even yourself would not believe in what you said here as i felt that you actually loved the car and is just upset with some car issues.
Hopefully the problem with the Polestar 4 will be taken care of by the time it gets to the US cuz I have to turn in my P2 🙏

He makes good points on why he places it there though and I would tend to agree with him. Must also not forget Tesla has been quietly downgrading features on the model 3 over time... Don't think I'd be very comfortable with the 'one central screen to control everything' concept.
@@michaeldendulk2230 yep. I´ve had Model 3 2020 for three years now and a lot of things have changed for worse. Parking radars disable, the auto pilot radar disabled, software breaks down something etc.

i totally disagree with you about the EV9, i'm just came back from a holiday in Denmark and what a comfortable car. Smooth ride and charging also fast charging, almost always above 200kW. The consumption was high but acceptable for a temperature under zero degrees in combination with snow and al huge 600liter roof case.
The only thing what can be better is the EV route planning but for me it is no doubt to do it myself or using ABRP.

So of all the 20 new EVs I drove in 2024, what place would you rank the EV9?

The EV9 is unmatched in price and specs. Other 7 seaters or more expensive, have less space on the third row or are less complete except if you pay twice as much.

Polestar 2, and I have been saying that for years.

It's a lot worse about the price, 25% more than the same Model 3, worse about engine, inverter, acceleration, efficiency, range, software, OTA's upgrades, infotainment system, main and rear screen, interior space, trunk, frunk and superchargers. If we speak about ergonomics, what about the dead pedal in P2... Humans are allowed to learn about use buttons instead of stalks, but cut our leg to be comfortable.... I don't see that...Nowadays, any car can't beat Model 3 about value for money.
Kia ev9 is cool but aint complete, so many faults.

Nah only reason it exists is because of eu’s emissions penalty, Ford couldn’t bother developing ev’s for Europe so they struck a deal with vag to use the meb platform.
Agree on Tesla. It's a Supercharger network and tech bro car. Imagine a world where every ev has reliable road trip charging. Is anyone getting a Tesla? The tech guys. That's about it. I mean the ride is awful on the Model Y as an example. Even Out of Spec wondered how people deal with it.
The supercharger network is almost all open to all brands in Europe so Tesla vehicles lost the edge there.

Volvo isn’t a luxury brand is it? I’d call it the same tier as Kia, and a level below premium brands like BMW, and Mercedes and several tiers below luxury brands like Rolls Royce or Bentley

Yes it is luxury, or premium brand. When it comes to design, interior quality, ride, comfort and features Volvo are on the same level as the Germans. Kia is a mainstream brand, and don't have any offerings that even come close to what Volvo offer. I mean, have you even been inside an S90 or EX90? These interiors rival the best from Germany and in many ways are better. Kia doesn't have a single interior that comes close.

I would of have added the butt fucking idiotic software of the Highland on the list also. The car scares shitless when there´s oncoming traffic and the ACC is enabled or that the wipers are swiping the windscreen in a frenzy when it´s +25 and not a single cloud on the sky.
I don´t dare to upgrade the software because when Tesla fixes one issue, it breaks two things that used to work just fine. I´ve had Model 3 for three years, not going to buy another Tesla ever again.
@@KrisRifa Sorry I used the wrong word. I meant that I can imagine that people are following your channel because they want some useful informations from you because they may want to buy an EV. I live in Italy and here if you do, like me, 45/50K kilometers every year and you want to never encounter any typical EV issue Tesla today is the ONLY choice. I'm not happy to say that because I wish there were other choices but in 2025 the legacy automakers are not coming out with cars that you can compete with the American Brand (not counting Porsche). Chinese brands apart, the only companies that are making some interesting EV are Kia/Hyundai, Polestar, Lucid and Rivian.
Then people following you know that you don't like Tesla and this is not a problem but I'm sure that no one that understands technology and cars can put the Tesla Model 3 in this chart.

Did you just ignore the rest of the video? Like where I say "I have no problem recommending" the Model 3. Or "noen of these cars are bad". I drove more than 20 cars, and these are the top 5 i wouldn't buy with my own money. Why are you turning it into a problem and into more that it is.
