The fact is some Poles can say it as well as some Latinos can say it. Some, but not all, because there is some percentage of racists among every ethnic group. But yes, Poles are the first and forgotten owners of the original N-word pass given to them by black nationalists straight from Haiti, for the help in fights against the French colonialists and slavemasters. The world's first free black republic was established with the contribution of Poles. @Gibby2kay that's an excellent strategy......I personally don't mind if I know the person well enough to know that there is no racism there......cause sometimes it's the correct word for the situation. I've also been a musician, and I have a certain appreciation for accuracy and precision in a performance, so in that sense, TO ME, it's fair game when it's part of a lyric....
BUT......I also understand that my feelings on the word are personal and are probably much more liberal than most other black people, so I make sure to tell my friends to whom I give "the pass" that even if I don't mind, I can't speak for any other black person who might hear them AND that I CANNOT defend them if they piss someone off with it, so it's their responsibility.
Then again, anyone who I would say that to already has that figured out, doesn't want to chance going somewhere unintended, and most importantly simply chooses not to say it anyway...So I guess my feelings are when it comes to that word, if you have to use it just be respectful and be SURE of how it will be received by EVERYONE who might hear you....cause it's tough to predict how any given person will feel....or how they will react. And if you offend someone, don't quote this.....I will flat out deny you.
It's probably just easiest to just avoid the word altogether, lest you catch a random ass whooping cause you thought you were safe....

As a white kid who grew up in a very urban environment surrounded by drug dealing and violence, I always had black friends growing up because I played basketball and football with them. It's not that they were drug dealers or violent, just that we understood the environment and came from the same kind of background. One time, a huge 6'4 250lb white kid called my buddy kyari a "n-f" (you know if you watch Chapelle) on the bus. Kyari was probably 5'8 190, but he was built and not fat like the white kid. And he said "word? Okay." And me, my brother and one other white kid and the black kids in my neighborhood all got off at the dudes stop. The bus driver was a black lady and she just pretended she ain't know what was happening and let 9 teenagers get off a couple miles away from their normal stop lol dude thought he was gonna get jumped but little did he know, we knew kyari was gonna wear his big azz out one on one and we wanted to watch lol this was just a couple years before smart phones were widespread, I wish we got to film it. You ever seen a cat take 4 or 5 swipes at a big dogs face before the dog could even react? Well it was just like that lol 250 pounds of dead weight dropped to the ground. What was cool about it is they start splashing water on his face to wake him up and when he came to, they sat him up and explained to him that you can't just call a black kid the n word because if their parents or the neighborhood finds out and they didn't fight you, they getting in trouble. The dude actually apologized and for the rest of the year, it was kumbaya on that bus lol

And that's what confuses white people.
In the 1st world, there is freedom of speech. As long as you don't break specific laws (Lying in court for example) you're free to say ANYTHING.
You are free to say that Al Qaida are full of chinese unicorns wanting to destroy tall buildings. You are free to say the president of US is nothing but senile old fart or orange biggot. You can. Nothing wrong. As far as law is concerned.
But then you have racial slur, which unlike others (chinks is honestly one come to mind, coming from mostly homogenous country) is elevated and used normally by one group, while the rest is denied. And it's acceptable to punish that violence in the current mindset. (But not law)
Of course white ppl want to say it.
Like they want to be able to talk shit about anyone else. Since they technically can.
When people say that freedom of speech is not freedom of consequences, I cringe.
Because half the time it's used to justify breaking the law (assault for example).
Yeah, you can shun them, refuse to have anything to do with them, and you can make sure you're circle knows not to deal with that guy. That you can do, and it's consequence of free speech. But not punch him.

0:32 Lmao! This kicked off hard. 😆
Also this word, just like every single other word, only has as much power as we give it. Now if an individual is hurt by that word because of some terrible life experience, it's not necessarily wrong for you to feel that way. While slurs about my ethnicity, sex, etc don't offend me, I realize that different people are hurt by different things.
But regardless of that, it doesn't change that words only have the power that we allow them to have. And if everyone on this planet stopped for a bit, and thought to themselves how it is nonsense, this word and all other slurs could lose all their hurtfullness. Personally, I thought like this:
"Why should the rudeness from some ignorant person have any sort of effect on me? They don't know me, and they do not deserve to hurt me. And if they want to judge me based on my skin color, or on my hair or eyes or any or any other characteristic that I didn't choose and that doesn't have any effect on who I am as a person, then they are too stupid for me to care about what they think.".
And since then not only have bigoted comments not affected me, but ANY insults directed towards me haven't bothered me. Especially ones with no basis in fact, or ones based on bigotry or any others without any sense to them.
Addendum: Remember, I'm not saying anybody is wrong for feeling hurt by bigoted comments or statements. What I am saying is that anybody who says those things to you doesn't deserve to make you feel any sort of hurt. Cause they're too ignorant or stupid to be worth your emotions.

    • @qqgamer545
      @qqgamer545 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Not true for all Indians or Native Americans though. There's groups that fight for their right to keep using Indian lol. There's also a interesting history to that word. The story about Indians from India and all that confusion seems to be fake. Actual historical records show the journals referring to the nicest people known as indios. Which is ANYTHING BUT offensive. Check it: “Columbus knew he was nowhere near India” and that he was so charmed by the people he found in the Caribbean--so sweet, happy, blessed --he called them Los Gentes en (or in ) Dios , meaning “the people in God.” This is what Columbus wrote to Ferdinand and Isabella, Abbey reports, and the name Indios stuck, becoming changed by usage to Indians . Seems like the Cleveland Indians could have just changed their name to Indios. Or not changed it at all since Indian isn't actually offensive. The only offensive words used for Native Americans were actually derogotory are injuns, savages, and bush whackers and scalpers. Those seem pretty loaded with derogetory context unlike Indians.
