Two legends! Really 3 because it’s produced by the man Q, Quincy Jones , so much great music we had back then, and an over flow of sweet love songs like this, so great that young people are discovering these classic love songs, but honestly so sad that young artists today cannot put down in words about the love in the heart and sing it with feelings . I guess it’s a bygone era gone ….

This song went to number one on the Billboard pop charts for two weeks in February 1983 before "Billie Jean" took the number one spot the following week and changed everything. Two other great duets I think you would enjoy are "Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You" by Roberta Flack and Peobo Bryson and Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton's cover of Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight".

Now look back and remember having such songs one after another playing on the radio. My heart weeps such times will never return but we keep them alive and those who hear these songs will integrate them in their lives. Each song replaces one trash song out there.

James Ingram was the greatest R&B duet singer since Marvin Gaye . It seems that all the women love to sing with him. Here is a list for you: Linda Ronstadt "Somewhere out there". Anita Baker "When you love someone" Dolly Parton "The day I fell n love" Tamia a live version of his Patti Austin- "How do you keep the music playing" James Ingram & Gloria Estefan "I can't stop loving you (Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary TV special) it's on TH-cam. My all time favorite with the great Nancy Wilson- "Wish you were here" Just to name a few.

I love me some patti Austen and James Ingram. If you want to hear a really amazing song, listen to patti austin’s version of The Island. It’s stunning. Another duet with these two is How Do You Keep the Music Playing. One of my all time fav songs. James Ingram passed in 2019. The world lost one amazing voice. He sang I Don’t Have the Heart. That’s a heart breaker.

This song was at first a flop in 1982, then was featured on TV's General Hospital and the reaction caused it to be re-released in late '82 and it went to #1 in early '83. I recall that it was so popular that it was played incessantly on the radio for many months. These are two great singers who had solo hits. Patti had a big duet hit with Johnny Mathis, Too Much, Too Little, Too Late and James is one of the four male stars on Quincey Jones' Secret Garden. She sang Lets Hear It For the Boy from Footloose and James sang Find One Hundred Ways and Just Once.

In addition to Just Once, James also sang Find One Hundred Ways on Quincy’s project. He’s also featured in We Are The World, & another Wuincy Jones Production called Secret Garden, also featuring Al B. sure, El DeBarge & the late icon Barry White. That one is a killer! Quincy loved & appreciated that James was always professionally committed in the studio. Also, Patti is actually Quincy’s goddaughter. She is also the consummate musician & professional. Another great hit they had together is called, ‘How Do You Keep The Music Playing, by composer, Michel Legrand. 👍🏾
