Cold war was a step in the right direction but yes got old fast, 3 i didnt think was overly great you had to do so much stuff to get set up for a game which made things tedious, 4 was uh we dont talk about 4, 2 is definitely the better one to play in terms of replayability even though it could get boring but thats why i think 3 and cold war were steps in the right direction and hopefully the next one is going to be in that sweet spot i just hope they dont go overboard on the map objectives, you shouldn't have to do half an easter egg every game to get comfortable and then also put up with people that dont know or wont help
one thing I will say is that you can play zombies however you like. If they make the general game to easy, you can modify it whereas if they make it too hard, its just too hard. For example, if there's gobblegums, you can choose your own non-broken sets. If you want a perk-limit, you can self impose it etc. I'm an old school zombies kind of guy as well, although I'm a huge fan of SoE and Der Eisendrache so BO3 system with gums is fun for me.
@@D3AL1O I can get that, but when you look at the kind of zombies games that we played back in the day, its very much barebones stuff. It makes more sense to expect people to pass up a gumball machine than make an incredibly basic layout.

Cold War maps were literally facility after facility after facility. Plus it got boring having to do objectives vs during full on eggs. All games are repetitive, what he meant was replayable, theres a reason more people are still on BO3 vs CW so no its not crazy

Lol no it's not. Black ops 3 had giant Easter eggs and you couldn't cheese the game by choosing your spawn weapons and shit. Not to mention the art direction and environmental story telling in 5 is shit. It was In the golden days with blundell. Everything after him has been shit and they just keep doubling down. They're so detached
It seems we have the same thoughts on Cold War mechanics. I absolutely despise armor, pap levels, and weapon rarity has no place in Zombies. I also hate being able to spawn in with weapons instead of a pistol it totally kills progression. However I feel I have a bit more optimisim about GobGums, I loved them I just hope they dont make it as obnoxious as BO4. Great work on the vid!
Well no, there’s still progression. No matter your load out, you start out with a red-tier gun. That’s where the salvage and armor system come in. I find it enjoyable

Actual progression is where youd load into a match with just a pistol and have to build your way keeping in mind having to survive and when and where to spend your points. Handicapped progression you start out wit a m4 or something not worried too much about an effective weapon cuz ur mowing down zombies on round 1 and not having to worry about ammo cuz u have ammo caches around u so literally just play to pap. At that point wtf is the point of wall buys or box

Gobble gum returning would be a W imo, and I think you’re overreacting on the armor/weapon tier system. I think the main issue with Cold War and it being “boring” was the recycled & expanded maps. They went for nostalgia and it didn’t work. The mechanics were fine though. If anything, it was the evolution and progression that was needed. I think (and hope) that they’re going to take the best of everything new and old that they’ve learned from over the years and that’s gonna be 2024 zombies… but that’s just me. 🤷♂️
I’m not overreacting, I genuinely feel this way. I tried to give Cold War a chance, I even got dark aether on every gun. Outside of camo grinding the whole gameplay loop is boring and hollow. I’m glad you like it but I don’t.

If you take 2 seconds to understand why I have the opinions I have maybe you'd realize that I'm not just "moaning" about shit. I have genuine reasons why I don't like the gameplay changes. I think the problem with perkaholic was the close application glitch, The Gobblegum on its own is pretty fun yet very balanced by it being consumable, So you'd have to grind to get one. I Agree about CW too it has very little replayability and the maps suck ass.

I would personally prefer another bo4 instead of Cold War .
