Thanks for posting this! I typically run in the Adrenaline GTS. I just found the Hyperion Max for under $70 shipped so I couldn't turn that down. Can't wait to get them and try them out!
You're very welcome! You're going from a 12mm drop to an 8mm drop, so ease into them if you're not currently mixing drops. They are great shoes, so let me know what you think! 👍
I bought a pair of Brooks Hyperion Max two weeks ago. Ran half marathon race in the pouring rain with them straight out the box and they performed great. The wide forefoot of this shoe makes it a very stable shoe. Ran in them at a 7:30 min per mile pace. The grip was excellent in the wet. The foam is firm but is designed this way so that the faster you run the more pushback it gives you. This shoe is excellent for any workouts that require faster paces and agree can double up as race shoe all the way up to half marathon distance. Really liking this shoe as plated race shoes are more unstable at the toe off stage of your foot strike. The Hyperion Max as no such issues. I got mine on sale at $155
Just wanted to drop by and say, Your videos are awesome! Keep it up! As a mild pronator myself, your videos helped me a whole lot! Sending love from the Philippines!
Congrats OMV, your videos look incredible both image and sound wise. I would suggest you to incorporate criteria for shoe rating, e.g. performance up to 10, stability, looks, price, etc..Keep it up!
I love your videos because, like you I also have mild pronation. You’re faster than me though😅. Your commentary is more pleasant while running than at home, too hyper at home. Would you test the novablast 3? They’re all the rage for neutral runners. I hope they’re good for us mild-pronators
Hey Rogelio! 👋 Thanks for supporting my channel, and glad you like the videos!...I'll consider testing the Novablast 3 after a little research. If they are known to have some inherent stability, then I just might....I know my style may not be for everyone, but the energy I show at home is genuine. I may be 60, but my zest for running and life has never been higher! Being true to oneself is very important in life, so that's what I must do. Hope you understand, and I hope you continue to enjoy the channel! Cheers!
Thanks to you I’m enjoying the Hyperion Tempo and think it’s my replacement for the DS Trainer and original Prism (one Nike Odyssey 😢 RIP). I’m stocked up on the Endorphin Pro 1&2 for racing (trust more than 3). But I’m still looking for a replacement of my beloved Zoom Fly 4, which is firmer than other trainers but still my favorite and better performer for those long marathon paced workout or uptempo long runs. Especially with hills. I was looking at the Kinvara Pro, but with the success of the tempo (fast up to 10k), maybe it’s the Hyperion Max that I could use for those workouts? Also the rigidness of the Zoom Fly 4 sill beat my Endorphin Pro 2 by 30 seconds on my fastest Masters marathon, so the Max could be a marathon racer as well? Or just do my marathon workouts in the oldest of my 6 pairs of Endorphin Pros? Thoughts? FYI- thanks to you even though I have too many shoes, I’m narrowing down my favorite so I can get down to a 6 sho rotation. Haha
Hey, Paul! The Max is definitely a good option for Marathon workouts as a more cushioned version of the Tempo. I use it for longer Tempo runs, and it could definitely work for double-digit marathon pace runs as well. As an option for a marathon race shoe, possibly. It would be a firmer option than current super shoes, however.
OMV, is it this weekend that your race is? Does it look like you will achieve your fabulous fast goal -- was it 1:38? Am I remembering correctly? Good luck! Have fun!
Hi Cathy 👋 Yes it is! As for my goal, the weather may not cooperate. 50s with possibly heavy rain and 10 - 20 mph winds. Still planning to give it a go, but will be happy with a sub-1:40:00 in those conditions. 🤞😎🤞
@@oldmanvanrunning OMV, how frustrating that the weather may not cooperate after all the hard work you have done to prepare. Yes, you might have to adjust your goals -- but a 1:40 in heavy rain/wind will be equivalent to a 1:38 in perfect weather, and VERY impressive, so you can still be proud of yourself! I will be running much much much slower than you in my half marathon this Sunday, but I will still have fun. Good luck Sunday.
@@oldmanvanrunning Thank you for your good wishes to me in my upcoming race. I am so slow -- you will laugh at me if we are ever in the same race -- I am the one who will be finishing just as you are done with lunch and ready to drive home -- but I DO enjoy the races very much.
Just read up on the new Hyperion and GTS. Really interested in how the Hyperion line (GTS, Max, Elite) play out as a more stable alternative to the Endorphin line since I can't wear the speed, shifts are ok, but love the Pro's. Also, firm is good for us, right? :)
Loved the original Hyperion Tempo and the Max is pretty good (and fairly stable). Deciding whether to purchase the new Hyperion GTS, but I don't feel the Elite is in the same class as the Endorphin Pro 3 or Endorphin Elite.....Firm to a point. The ASICS Superblast is the softest shoe I've worn, but it's amazingly stable (and pretty quick) as well.
takumi sen 8 has almost same stack height and bit firm ride. do they have big difference with the ride? because takumi sen 8 right now is almost half price of hyperion max
The Takumi Sen 8 is more of a 5k to 10k shoe, which is firmer and less stable. I think the Max is more versatile and will accommodate a wider variety of runners. Most important to me is the inherent stability as I'm a stability runner.
Will be interesting to see how you feel about the shoe after maybe 100 miles or so. Some reviewers really love this shoe, especially after it gets broken in with some good mileage on it.

Like the matching colors with the shoes. Looks like a pretty nice running shoe.

Hey OMV,
Any thoughts on Mizuno Wave Inspire 19? Will you planning to do a performance review on these shoes?

Hi. Are they true to size? Thanks.
They were for me in my 11.5 medium width US. A good middle-ground fit 👌 Thanks for the question 👍
I am midfoot striker. Do you they would be suitable for my run style? I used ran on Glycerine 17 and I loved them though. Thanks!
Hey Tomas! The Max is ideal for mid-foot strikers 👍

Hey, Joe! Looking forward to getting those 100 miles in. Each run has been better than the one before, so far.
