- HD Team Pilot Nick Wisdom is back again with another Helidirect Quick Tip. In this video, Nick takes you through the simple steps involved in setting the center of gravity of your helicopter around the position of the main shaft. Doing this will result in a much better-flying helicopter rotating (piro) without drifting or wobbling. Excellent tip, Nick!

Good tip
Man i so want a700 size heli..
both sides will be the same as the weight is the same no matter turned clockwise or anticlockwise. Nice clear video...thanks.
no, one side holding it up will lock the one way bearing and not rotate say downwards if nose or tail is too heavy. He also explained this too. Think about it, or test it yourself.
Drivetrain drag and the one way bearing will always affect one side such that it won’t show you the correct balance. Thanks for watching.
Out of curiosity, with gas/glow powered planes you balance them with the tank empty, is it the same with principle with glow powered helicopters and balance them with an empty tank?
Most nitro helicopters try and get the tank very close to the mainshaft so the center of gravity doesn’t shift much as you go through the tank. For my nitros I balance them with the tank half full. I feel like that’s the best compromise.
@@NickWisdomRC ... So what do you move to balance them?
Anything you can! Move and or adjust size of receiver battery. Move the fbl if there are more than one spot for it. Add additional tail fin layer if nose heavy. If you can’t get it perfect, get it close and see how it flies.
