Rules:
1. If a Pokemon Faints, it's considered dead!
2. Both players are ONLY allowed 1 Pokemon to catch per 10 floors, then those 2 pokemon are linked forever! If one Pokemon dies, the other goes down with it!
2. You CAN'T have 2 Pokemon with the same primary typing on your own team! (Example: I can't have 2 fire types, but I can have 1 and Shady have 1)

Dude ngl the constant promotions is a bit off putting. Like I know you need to promote it but 6/7 times in a one episode is way too much. Feels forced and is making me not want to buy it.

When a pair dies you can just release it from the party screen to make it less confusing. Great idea for a soul link so far!
I was hoping they realized that myself, they almost did it a few times too.
We learned you can do that in episode 2!

Also (unless i have it wrong) there was times u could have caught mons but didnt because of typings so for example dylan had a bug type but was saying he couldn't catch it because shady had paris. My understanding was u couldn't have the same typing on ur own teams but unlike normal soul links dylan and shady can both have the same types on there team they just cant have multiple or link the same types to each other
Yeah if one player has a type the other one can add it to there team still like the 3 starters
Started playing this game 2 weeks ago and got so addicted and now I see 2 of my favorite dads doing a nuzlocke ..what a time to be alive

by like episode 5 the runs are gonna be intense depending on egg luck
Rule related stuff. Multiple times Dylan mentioned having to remove the sentret pair if Shady caught a normal type. At the start you mentioned the type rules were per pair and one of each type per team(6 unique each not 12 unique total). Each of you have a grass, fire, and water type, you can both have a normal type. This doesn’t break your rules.
Secondly releasing dead mons. During any floor or battle you can release Pokémon in your party at any time. Leaving the dead mons in your party can cause confusion, you have to release them. I suggest if a Mon dies, for example on floor 20 to the gym leader, the Pokémon linked to it can be used to beat floor 20 but gets released immediately on floor 21.
Lastly, I suggest you allow reviver seeds. Odds are you won’t have them. But, if you do get them, it stops you from losing stat buffs which means technically you never fainted.
Reviver seeds doesn’t count a pokemon as fainted if i recall, it doesn’t show your mon has fainted it just pops like a berry
also, by releasing, they won't get revives as rewards, improving the item pool
Personaly really love that Eternatus got some deserved love in PokeRouge. Its such an amazing Pokemon, I like it a ton. Really hyped for the nuzlocke of it! Lets go, this will be good!
I’m hoping they end up switching your rivals legendary ace and Eternatus tho so that it’s random. I like the preparation aspect, but it’s easy to counter team.

Personally i think this gane is much more suited to be a versus with new files. 👌🏾
Would love to see a versus for this! A classic race or an endless race. See who finishes first or gets the furthest.

@@the25thjordan76as someone who’s made it five thousand floors into endless i promise u dont want 40 episodes of a single level 2000 pokemon spamming setup moves or stalling every boss and one shotting every wild in the most brainless fashion possible. u dont even use 6 u bring 1 carry 1 backup 3 defensive pivots nd 1 slot to catch and release so u can steal wild held items. there is no thought u spam one nove 90% of floors and then every 250 u have to think for 5 seconds

Guys don’t forgot you can run unless it breaking your personal rules but if you hit a wild pokemkn That can sweep you can run

You can release a mon from the switch menu, not only will this help eliminate confusion on whos alive, it will also make the game stop giving you revives, which means better items. Great work dads cant wait to be one soon™
Just some info. Can release pokemon either at the end of a level or during. Makes it easier to know who has what pokemon left
Please tell me yall realize u can both have normal just not paired together because you guys already agreed about sharing types not pairing types like you both have fire grass and water

because I am into pokemon, you guys are making endlessly entertaining content... feels like a channel that I could be basically caught up on for how well the content works and how watchabole it is but instead i just find you guys with literally... weeks of pokemon/nuzlocke content to work thru... super cool! The first run when you get past the early game is gonna feel so good.

So you guys were having shared types between your parties but not within your party? Cuz Dylan kept saying he couldn't catch bug but shady was the one with the Paras
You guys were not very clear about how pairing and catching mons will work for this challenge. You kind of just left it for viewers to decipher through gameplay. As in, you apparently can catch mons before the other partner, and then continue playing even if they don't catch one for a while longer?
In the intro we said every rule? 1 Pokémon for every 10 floors, can’t share primary type, can’t duplicate a type on each individual team?
@@DadsBeingDudes I think there was a bit of confusion on your grasp of your own rules for a bit. I.e did each 10 floor encounter have to be on same exact floor, to which you sorted. Also there was bit were I think you confused yourselves on not being able to reverse the typings. You started with Normal/Bug, you would have been able to catch Bug/Normal yet you kept saying that you had one of those types already. I'm enjoying it nonetheless and look forward to Tuesday.
@@DadsBeingDudes You gave a broad description of the rules in the intro, but during gameplay itself, details were breezed over or confused with one another. For example, Dad A catches a mon before Dad B and continues playing for five minutes with said mon until finally Dad B catches up and pairs it. In the previous soul links, you've always made sure to get both parts of the pair before moving on with gameplay.
Obviously, with Pokerogue, that'll be a little different due to having a ten-floor range for each catch, but it can also easily lead to situations where viewers are unsure of pairs and fights in which a currently unpaired mon might accidentally be used before it's technically legal to do so. The further you guys make it in the run, the more confusing this will be.
This is less of a complaint and more of an observation of something that will inevitably cause issues down the line. I think when one Dad catches a mon, they should wait for the other Dad to encounter a mon they want to pair it with before continuing. It's not like you're racing against each other, so slowing down a bit to ensure continuity and clarity shouldn't hurt.
EDIT: Which is exactly what happened in the second episode with a certain unpaired mon.

Was really looking forwards to a competitive soul link of some sort, and not Pokerogue personally. Pokerogue definitely is a for fun on the side sort of game, but doesnt feel like a uh...dads bein dudes type. Just giving feedback i guess, since i really expected the comp dad vs dad gameplay, but hopefully you guys still have fun

In theory this is a really cool series! Pokerouge is a really cool game, but it just feels weird to nuzlocke. It’s tough to stay around the same floor and play along together with how fast the game goes. I almost think a DBD VS race would maybe suit this game better

Here is a bit of advice:
If you guys find a Meowth at all, CATCH IT! Meowth can help make money for you early game with Pay Day & it has Fake Out from the start making it an amazing early game mon especially if it has Technician. Also, if in future recordings one of the pairs you have has a purple box around it, use that pair so your mons get Pokerus. Lastly, I checked the PokeRouge wiki & the Hisui starters evolve into their Hisuian forms at their normal evolution levels but ONLY at either dusk or night. This applies to other mons with Hisuian form evolutions like Goomy for example. Hopefully this helps. Wishing you guys luck.

why do they talk about not having normal types or bug types on each team when they have fire water and grass on each team? are the rules only 1 primary type per team or for both teams?

I managed to beat my first Classic Pokerogue with a Shedinja yesterday! It was truly an MVP for positioning around too and keeping the rest of the team safe, but I can see it being too risky a gamble in a nuzlocke like this.

Just a little tip for a good play through for you guys! Pokemon insurgence is a very good game that you could play together. It has a build-in random mode with encounters and items. Also has a hard mode with a level cap. But I do enjoy what ever content you do together.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure about this. I'm not usually a fan of this kind of rogueelike, but I love the dynamic of the two of you paired against impossible odds. This feels right. I'm in. Oh, and my guess was going to be 27 resets/tries, but I'm not so sure now.

I think 10 floors is a lot, you could do a new encounter every 5 I think and that would still be tough in its own.

If I can make one suggestion to help ease confusion on who’s lost, especially after a route change and party heal, you can release a pokemon at any time, so when it dies, just release both pairs so there’s no questions.
