- We took the kids backpack shopping, everyone had a difficult time choosing what backpack they wanted. The kids are so excited for school to start in a few weeks!

I love all the “back to school” videos. It is so interesting to see what the school require each child to bring since the system works differently where I live😆
My kids are going into grade 4 we are in Ontario and their school has never required anything other than a backpack, lunch box, indoor shoes and maybe a spare outfit.
It is awesome and very interesting what they get.

@@maysmith4906 Well I do not live in the US so the system is quite different. A backpack is of course needed. However, all supplies are provided by the school and lunch is served to all students everyday. So no lunchbox needed :) Younger students keep indoor shoes at the school since they tend to run in and out all the time and the school does not want dirty floors.
It’s so weird to me that they get new backpacks every year. I’m from Germany and here we have special schoolbags (at least for the younger kids) and use them for at least 3-4 years.
I’m in the U.S. and it’s the norm to keep the same backpack for a few years. Little kids tend to get new ones every year because they get them dirty so it’s easier to get cheap ones. Idk though I’m in high school and most people I know and myself have the same ones for years.
I’ve had my backpack for at least 5 years or so part of highschool and college i use everywhere i go still looks totaly fine
My kids didn't get new ones each year. They didn't even get new supplies if theirs were in good shape.

Ya I feel like once you get to like middle and high school you buy like a nicer more expensive bag and keep it for a while, but when I was little I would just buy a cheap one every year

Every year a new backpack? Here in Switzerland the kids get one backpack for the first grade to last them til the 6th grade where they start the “Highschool”. They are super sturdy, come with Etui of coloured pencils, pencil, pen( refills for pens ) then kids can gen refills for the Etui- most kids go home for lunch here
Sounds like your family are eco- warriors saving plant reusing wot you have until it falls apart or pass it on to someone else so they can use it
@@rainbaby my parents didn’t have money when I was going to school, but every year I got a new back pack, during middle school I got a new one through half the school year because mine would get holes or something from all the books I had.

@PeriodicalAdventures But it does have something to do with money. Some people who are well off are going to spend money on whatever they please rather you like it or not. It doesnt matter if its wasteful people have the right to go buy what they want. Im not saying its right or wrong its how the world works. And frankly this couple has done more for the world by adopting these children then you ever have keeping a bookbag for so long
I have had my backpack over 5 years now and it’s fine. I’m probably still going to buy new one this year

Just confused as typically for me I'd use the same bag each year until it breaks or wears etc.
I personally go through several a year. Their zippers break, get dirty (that can't be cleaned properly), & tear. Also you need a larger bag they bigger you are so it can't last for years.

I would recommend Lizzy get a good quality backpack. Depending on what college and classes she will have she may literally live out of it for a while! Also my son got a Nike backpack and used it 2yrs and 4 or 5 yrs later it's still used a lot for a weekend bag and flight bag. It still looks great! Thank you for sharing so much with us! A north face unisex backpack style borealis or jester would really be a good investment for her and will last her probably up to 5 years depending on how rough she is with it!!
I definitely agree. This may sound overkill, but I would totally recommend an Osprey. They make QUALITY backpacks. I got a 40L one spring of 2015 that my husband and I took backpacking around Asia for six months, and in 2021, after using it as a gym bag back in the US, to go to work, and just general use, it's STILL going strong, very, very little wear!

Look into LL Bean backpacks for Lizzie and college. I still have mine 25+ years later and use it regularly.
Literally the whole time I was watching this video I was thinking about my L.L. Bean backpack. I got my first one which was pink and had it from kindergarten through 11th grade and then my senior year of high school I got an ice blue one and used it in college. The pink one just has a broken zipper and a broken zipper pull thing. L.L. Bean backpacks are the best and last so long!

Some people don't have a choice to get a new backpack every year. My mom was a single parent and worked hard but didn't have money to get us new backpacks every year unless the backpacks were falling apart. She was the best she passed away 4 months ago.
I'm so glad that Lizzy is doing nursing and furthering her education. It's very refreshing to see, and she also seems super smart.

I used to get my younger kids 2 backpacks at the beginning of the year, because they’d destroy their backpacks with a month or two left in the school year.

They might be right about breaking up the order. I used to work at McDonald's in Germany and I remember big orders, especially when they had lots of different articles, were something I constantly had to check while packing cause I couldnt remember it all. And like that it can easily happen that you don't see something or something like that.

Hello Crazy Middles!!! I just wanted to thank you all for your channel and for all you do. I'm 21 and since i was 9 I have been having foot and leg reconstructive surgeries to try to fix birth defects. I discovered your channel in 2016 while recovering from one of my surgeries and since then I have looked forward to your videos every single week! I am recovering from my 11th major surgery and on Tuesday I go back to the hospital to have another emergency surgery to clean out infection from my foot. My right foot will most likely need to be amputated in the near future. I cannot describe how much joy you guys bring me every single day with your awesome videos! i binge watch them especially when I'm bored in the hospital and you truly make me smile with every video that i watch. You all are such a blessing to me and to so many others. Kepp doing what you're doing!! You guys absolutely rock!!!!!

We used to get a new backpack every year. Made going back to school feel special. Also used to always donate our old ones, that way they were still in pretty new condition & not outdated styles or characters. I’m pretty sure the crazy middles might do the same. I doubt they keep all their backpacks hoarded.
I hope they actually donate them and don't just throw them away.

Is the concept of getting a new backpack every year common in the US? I’m Germany I think it’s Common to have s backpack from grade 1-4, a new one from grade 5-9 and then a final one for high school. Maybe one more of they break 😂 so interesting!!
When your a younger child then it’s common in Canada and the US but as you get older it’s less common you just buy some expensive bag and use it for years

You should definitely get Addy into modeling classes and start her career already. She's strikingly beautiful, and would definitely do great as a commercial model. Also, I love her speaking voice and I think she can be a voice actress for Disney. ❤

I think in Germany the quality of backpacks is different. I’m not in school anymore but I use my backpack when I go to work by bike. And I use my backpack from school and it is 12 years old 😉
Aubrey and Addison should each get different cute key-chain to put on their backpacks so they know who's is who's. I'll be surprised if they don't accidentally take the wrong backpack at some point this year.
Tell lizzie a rolling backpack will help her back so much with nursing school. She can do the other for her laptop and notebooks and the rolling case for her books. There is so many
I think the choice to let the little kids get water bottles was a good one. With a lot of places including schools still having drinking fountains shut off but having the water bottle fill stations open you know that they can always get plenty of water to drink.

Is Lizzie going to a different kind of nursing program? Most programs require 2 years of general edu prior to applying for the BSN program?
I also wondered that, but I have noticed that there are a LOT of more, how do I say....independent I guess, types of education facilities popping up. Like Ross here in Indiana. They're rarely accredited, and kind of seem disorganized, but maybe they are better where they live? I actually interviewed to teach dental assisting(I have my Associates in Science for Dental Assisting), and I just got a bad vibe. Or maybe it's an accelerated program? I'm curious, now! I hope they do a video about it, I would be interested to hear about how her schooling works.
Yes breaking up the order should help, the big orders should not get messed up but it is a lot all at once and must be harder to do. Hope it works breaking up the order.

why wouldn't you let them use the same one from last year if they want to? It would be environmentfriendly if they are still good! i had like 4 bags in my 12 years of school and one for the whole of 6 years university (and I still do have it 10 years later)
In Germany little kids use hard shell backpacks - good ones are quite expensive, but are usually used from first to at least 4th year, and sometimes even longer.
When does school go back in USA ? Because in Canada it's September
