- What‘s up everybody? Welcome back to my channel! As I received some feedback about my previous videos and subtitles I decided to do a voice-over and add some soft music.
In this episode I'm going to show you how I replaced the short dash console with the long Zebrano one. If you are interested in doing it yourself you should definitely order new bulbs (link below) and find someone who has electrical skills to adjust your wiring for the ashtrayer.

By the way I think the earlier model's central console was much coherent with the market position of the W201 when it was launched: one step below the W123 even if much much forward than it at the time...
That said, I still think you did a huge work.

My dashboard has 2 more options for cold and hot vent and another button more next to the airvent sign. Will that affect the replacement? (I know the wood will have to be taken out in the vent area)

I think that you have to source the right trim piece. There are plenty of them for different specs. I don’t think that the extras will affect the replacement. Should be pretty much the same steps.
I'd have liked to see some good adjustable pliers, Knipex Cobra or similar, used on the knobs from 2:00 on. With regulars pliers you only grab the edges where as the adjustable ones get a grip on the level surfaces.
Not dissing, I'd just hate to see any scoring on the knobs of my car, or any old Benz for that matter.

¡Muchas gracias! El vendedor me dio el adaptador para la consola. Pero también debería estar disponible en Mercedes como una sola pieza.
Du solltest deine Steckverbindungen isolieren, falls du das nicht bereits getan hast. Crimpen wäre die bessere Variante. Die lange Konsole sieht schon um einiges besser aus. Habe sie in meinem auch verbaut, jedoch ist da bei mir zu viel Kontrast mit dem originalen grauen Mitteltunnel.
Hi Andreas, ich habe zur Sicherheit isoliert, gecrimpt und gelötet (21:12). Wollte da kein Risiko eingehen mit Kurzschluss.
Ich stimme dir da zu. Mir persönlich gefällt die lange Mittelkonsole auch besser aber habe genau dasselbe Problem mit dem Kontrast. Vielleicht werde ich das Leder neu beziehen, wenn ich mit dem Innenraum ganz fertig bin.

Ich bin gerade auch dabei die lange Mittelkonsole zu verbauen. Bei einer Stelle komme ich nicht weiter, ich bekomme die 3 Gewinde nicht durch die Löcher bei den Temperatur Reglern, hat da jemand einen Tipp??
Ich hab das Gefühl die ganze Konstruktion steht etwas zu weit hinten und einen Ticken zu hoch

This pieces are available as used parts only. Therefore you have to see if you can find one at any junkyard or most common internet platforms like ebay. I hope this helps you.

Vielen Dank, Fabio. Ich möchte tatsächlich mein Schaltbrett etc gerne restaurieren aber habe noch nicht die perfekte Lösung gefunden. Aber ich denke dazu wird es in Zukunft sicherlich was geben.

Mopf oder mal mit beizmittel/Lack arbeiten . Bin in ner WhatsApp Gruppe da hat das einer gemacht professionell
Mit Abbeizer arbeiten war auch meine Überlegung aber hinterher den Farbton zu treffen ist meine Sorge. Ich habe noch inzwischen andere Holzteile eingebaut die ich auch mit bearbeiten muss. Muss mir da mal einen Rat von einem Tischler einholen welche Beize am besten für Zebrano geeignet ist. Meines Wissens nach ist auch die original Beschichtung rot getönt und die Furniere naturbelassen. Wie hat es denn dein Kollege gemacht?
Ich bin in ner 190er Gruppe in WhatsApp da haben das schon welche gemacht die könnten bestimmt auxh Produkte empfehlen ..
Bin auch gerade dabei aber bekomme den Schieberegler für den lüfter nicht in den Schlitz. Hast du ein Tipp für mich?
Mir ist aufgefallen, dass vieles besser passt, nachdem die Muttern unter den Drehreglern befestigt werden. Danach sitzt die Konsole besser und man kann vieles besser montieren. Vielleicht kannst du mir über Instagram auch mal ein Bild schicken und ich schaue es mir mal an 🙂

Thanks Taha! The second one I have isn’t in the best shape. Therefore I wouldn’t sell it. For now I will keep it just in case I need a second one. Where are you from? Don’t you have online auction houses like eBay?

It depends on where you are from. The prices in Germany are approx. 150€-180€.

I’m not familiar with the Italian market but you can check if you can find a seller from Germany who offers shipping to Italy. I’m sure there is someone who would do this.
12:22 Where can I get the adapter? Is it ok not to use it. I bought the same dash console as yours but it didn't come with adapter.
It was included. The guy who sold it gave it with the console. I guess you can ask Mercedes directly if they sell it separately. You can give it a try but this adapter holds the console in place. Not sure if it works without.

Illuminations of the air conditioner knob
The center and right of the light bulb are out of balls
The bulbs need to be replaced. I didn’t think about it before replacing the console.

Got a 190D with AirCo, that console for AirCo-Adjust is expensive as a complete scrappy 190 or is just not available. 🤦♂️😂
499€ at eBay and Theres only That one to have.
The struggle is real.
It’s really strange how expensive separate parts are in relation to complete 190e. I’m sure that it would have been cheaper to buy a whole car instead of separate parts 😂
