- Welcome everyone to my new Video. This Mod Collection is for the nostalgic we all have when we play one of these battlefield 1942 mods. In this Mod collection, I am going to show you every possible mods you can downloading and playing for Battlefield 1942 in these days. Testing all the different mods (close to 150) for this video was a great and pleasurable work for me to do. I searched all the mods by myself and test it all by myself. It was fun to keep exploring and trying new things in the world of the mods. Many of the mods didn't work anymore because they were too old because of the lates 1.6 (1.61) patch or because they were meant for a Battlefield Vietnam mod.
It's just insane how much creativity is in each developer or development team. So many different scenarios for one main game. there is no limit for creativtity. some mods are only for the fun, with your fun. other mods are for your clanmates, to have an infantry training. other mods are for the equipment and realism. but all mods has one commonality: it is a mod for battlefield 1942! All the big ones are great, like Forgotten Hope, Desert Combat, Eve of Destruction, Pirates, Galactic Conquest, 1918, etc. But there are so many hidden gems that sadly just didn't get off the ground.

Played em all back in the day. Forgotten hope is definitely number 1. EOD probably 2nd.
So many great mods, I loved Interstate 82 and Eve of Destruction in particular. Forgotten Hope and Desert Combat of course were great as well, and I had a particular fondness for Who Dares Wins. Battle Group 42 and the Star Wars mod Galactic Conquest was also amazing. The space battles were better then Battle Front's. You had full size star ships that you could actually run around inside it was great.
interstate 82 and forgotten hope like desert combat is fun always to play these mods. but sad they are not played with much people nowadays. and i prefer to play helicopters in desert combat
Great video! I'm so pleased one of the mods I worked on (Transformers) made the list. Btw, so many years later I thought I'd played all the mods but this video proved there were some gems i missed. Great work on this video! I'd also like to thank all the people who helped develop these awesome mods! You made this game a historic success and tremendous fun for many years.
sorry for the late answer and thanks for your feedback. yeah the creativity of modders, of course for bf1942 mods is endless. you only need an idea and you need to work on it!
as a 15 y/o around that time, I was so spoiled with bf1942. It was like owning multiple games in one. I didn't even fully realize the gravity that my clanmate was the co-creator of Desert Combat and Trauma Studios haha. A friend of ours made Pirates. Such good memories, thanks for uploading.
there is still a community who said the same thing. cause some people tries to keep still alive the game. but the fact is that the game is 21 years old and not anymore that popular, but it was the first ever game of battlefield gameseries. also i guess u will meet nice people once again
Same. I remember asking somebody in vanilla what a mod was lol. Then I discovered DC, then FH and EOD. Good times. Im 35 now

This is internet historian level. I never got into modding bf1942, but watching all the diversity of these mods is mighty impressive!
i think it's easier to make single maps instead of designing big mods. but the creativity of mods in bf1942 is endless
*The Road to Rome* and *Secret Weapons of WWII* aren't "mods", they're official _expansions_ you had to purchase on separate discs, or get the *WWII Anthology Bundle* (also includes *Battlefield Vietnam + EA's Pacific WW2 expansion* )
first thanks for your feedback. i agree. i also wrote in the text in the video that the two mods were made by ea itself. but they are mods that you can download nowadays and have to activate in the game under the mods to play it

OMFG.. Never in my wildest dreams could i imagine that Santaland would ever show up in any sort of list. I don't remember the name of the other developer but he did the brunt of the work. It was running and playable when i joined the "team" (We were 2.. :P).
One good selling point to anybody for a short time of amusement is the jumping animation. ;)

Desert Combat, and fialy DC Final were so freakin great, at the end of the bf42 life cycle people were buying BF42 just for the mod just like Arma 2 and 3 for Dayz lol
Eve Of Destruction was such a sick ass mod but never took off because EA literaly launched a vietnam war standalone lol
Never played Forgotten Hope but I tried it not long ago (2023) and ah man I missed such a great mod to play against other players back in the days :\
hello gabriel, in my opinion forgotten hope, desert combat, interstate 82 and some adventure maps are the best maps. you can create in my mind endless mods. do you ever saw zquake? this is funny mod too, also i agree with u

I saw some servers having the mod "bf1942".
Whenever I try to join those servers, it says "Map not Found"
t.s ome maps can be modded with more flaks, tanks, planes. capture the flag. not every server plays same levels maps

I have some old recordings of bf1942 gameplay (remeber FRAPS!) on an old hard drive somewhere or even burnt to a DVD (lol), I'll try dig it up and put it up on youtube and share the nostalgia

¿No tendra usted algún mod para que las palabras del chat, radio, comandos, ect se vean bien en resolución 1366x768, es que a penas se ven en esa resolución
cuando se juega en una resolución más alta, la fuente y las texturas también se convierten en una resolución más alta. para mí, la letra es realmente legible. por desgracia no hay mod para esto, sólo se puede cambiar el formato de vídeo a 1920x1080

hmm did you have installed the actually bf1942 version 1.61? maybe if you have an older version the mod is not compatible

Battlegroup42 was awesome, then came Forgotten Hope and it was a totall gamechanger for WWII mods for BF. I remember spending hundreds of hours as a child in there. And the all mighty Desert Combat which broughts us then BF2. (people who made DC then started working for EA and created BF2 if im right )
i totally accept. i like the battlegroup42 maps cause of the ambient the sounds and the graphics is totally different from normal bf1942. i enjoy flying in desert combat also too! maybe i do stream once again with flying helicopters
major nostalgia. I was really into BF1942 from 2002-2007 my teenage years. it had such longevity in part because of the mods. I even go back every now and then play it online, theres still a small active community playing the vanilla original BF1942

Note that the Forgotten Honor is not a mod by itself but an expansion to Forgotten Hope Mod. Forgotten Honor was a tournament of 32vs32 that was played every week on a specific ww2 front, so they had to do their own maps, sometimes add some extra weapons and vehicles that was available in that period/campaign, since it was suppose to be realistic. But you needed FH mod to play it (at least back then). It was quite fun to be part of it for many years, since everything was organized similar to real life, with an HQ giving orders to squad leaders that lead a squad of 6 to 10 people (depending on importance in the map) and each squad had a specific task on the battlefield. Plus talking through Teamspeak with your squad mates was so fun and made it very immersive.
sounds interesting, thanks for your explains. yeah i think of some mods like forgotten hope and desert combat, there are only one main mod but the others things are newer versions with new modded extras like more new planes/tanks /uniforms. i dont know about that, but thank you for your nice explains. its always welcome and it sounds like fun. what you explained sounds like hell let loose only for forgotten hope^^
Fun fact, Forgotten Honor was a spin off from the BFE-WAW (Battlefield Europe - World at War) tournament. If memory serves me correctly the founders of Forgotten Honor had a falling out with the organizers/leadership from BFE-WAW and so created their own tournament. I was a teenager when I used to play BF1942, Forgotten Hope mod and played in the BFE-WAW tournament. In the days before discord, twitch and even native VOIP in video games, finding an organized player base in BFE-WAW was amazing.
@@jerryakamuadams6399 Yep. I also played in BFE-WAW for one campaign, before ending up playing in Forgotten Honor because one of my former squad mates (Rand00m) said I should join Forgotten Honor because the format and organization was better, which I did and it was super fun.
And yes, the FHonor tournament was created because of a section of the BFE-WAW wasn't happy with it, so they created their own. I remember one of the things was the 12 hour battles, which they found to be too long. FHonor had 6 hour battles, which was a bit more manageable for everyone.
I wanted to say that I really loved this video it gave me ideas to go check out all these other different types of mods to play around with. I did want to check out Richmod, but... I certainly had no luck trying to find it anywhere. Wondered if you knew where you got it from? Cause it was crazy looking and I wanted to mess around with the bots on it.

How to third person infantry?
when you have inistalled the first person infantry mod , you can change the player perspective. just click on c and you change camera.
