Everyone thinks they have an understanding of time, until they're waiting for the next Gopher KCD episode to come out and time inexplicably extends...minutes turn to hours...hours to days... days to years...

Kirk: Hours instead of days; now we have minutes instead of hours!
I feel you, Blue Wolf. I understand Gopher taking a day off, but that day off at the start of the week always makes it feel even longer between episodes, especially if you are just following one of his series at a time. It is even worse because he spoiled us with that double upload.
I'm annoyed that it didn't drop yesterday I actually had day off and tomorrow as well, but guess what......Scheduling changed for KCD uggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh :p
I'm still waiting for gopher to realize he can level up his drinking skill, so he can maximize both herbalism and drinking and become "henry, master of drunken fist fights and flowers"
Hunting is a viable strategy early game to amass some quick coin, and the skill can be levelled up surprisingly quickly. There are a few things that can help out as well, but I don't want to spoil anything. The missions from Captain Bernard also pay handsomely, but be careful as there can be a number of high-level enemies to go up against. Alchemy looks WAY more complicated than it actually is. Once you learn reading, there really isn't much at all to worry about except for getting the recipes correct. This is now my favourite series on the channel, Gopher, ahead of even the brilliant Skyrim and the enigmatic Vampyr. It's awesome, and I think you (like a lot of us) have gotten the KCD bug.
That's by design. This isn't an ordinary RPG. If you're trying to take down deer at Bow level 1 with a villager's dogwood bow, it's not gonna happen. You need to upgrade to one of the better bows. They all come with strength and agility requirements. so you have to git gud. Start with the smaller creatures: hare and roe deer are easily taken down with a bog-standard bow. Do some archery contests like Gopher has done in the video (no, they're not a one-off). Once you have the proper bow and skills to shoot it, you can take down a boar with one shot.
lol....it's getting to the point where I end up spending more time watching your videos in a week, than I do watching normal broadcast TV. Keep the great content incoming. Thanks Gopher!

Yeah I was playing from day one release & the only bug I ever encountered was the Bird in Hand quest, so I really never saw or understood why so many people were in an uproar about how buggy the game was
I'm really running a light mod setup anyway, and most of them are UI based. The only exception is the reduced headbob mod and I would be surprised if that was causing any issues.
@Gopher You haven't actually been using longswords but rather "shortswords", arming swords or side swords (a bit early) i.e. one-handed swords. Proper longswords were two-handed swords. What captain Bernard calls (mentions) a bastardsword is actually somewhat smaller than a longsword, though still a two-hander. ...unless that is, KCD does a D&D and gets it all wrong. At least I haven't seen a lot of leather so far.
I'm not sure exactly sure when KCD takes place, late 14-hundreds I think. Which is why I wrote that it was a bit early to use that particular term. But not as inaccurate as say a one handed sword in this time period and this area a longsword (langes schwert). Longswords of this era were always two-handed swords according to the historical manuals as far as I know, and were only used one-handed to extend a thrust or a swing or similar. ...and I've never seen someone use a longsword with a shield. I completely agree with you on the last part though. You see the same problem come up with the distinction between longswords and greatswords, though I think Shadiversity comes up with a modern diversification.
Wow! Watching the raindrops on the table during the dice game made me think of every Dead Show 2nd set... ever. Had to go back and actually watch the game!
Any one else get really tense when he scored and passed after using all six dice; I basically screamed, "SCORE AND ROLL AGAIN, YOU GET SIX MORE DICE"!!!
By the way, gopher those moments where sir hans grabs your head and knees you in the face, that’s a clinch. Strength and perks will help you win those, plus hitting the attack key in those moments.
I've got a really busy day at work tomorrow. I really should just go to sleep...or I could watch this latest episode. Yeah, I'm watching the new episode.
Sir Shoeless; if all your dices score, you may roll all of them again and get even more points. You may also find some special lucky or loaded dices during your adventure, and when you start the dice mini-game you will be able choose those you'll play
@@senhowler True, but 3 of those points were awarded him because he shot all of his arrows first. Had the game not bugged out that may not of happened.

Used to play sessions of a variant of that dice game, we called it 'Zilch' since if you failed at any point you score nothing, or zilch. Probably for the best that we never played for money...

Tried the game and I find archery in combat to be almost impossible without a mod/console command that gives you a targeting dot for them. I've shot the bow a bit in the past and it seems more difficult in the game than in real life.
Haha, he plays dice instead of patrolling, gets into a fight with the young lord and gets chewed out, and gets promoted to a lord's page. Seems legit. Way to fail up Gopher! =D
Capon kneed you good a couple of times but you hit him with a decent right hook which bust up his face. Mind you he was sozzled with booze so I’d have to call it a draw. Looking forward to what you make of Capon in the episodes ahead. No spoilers but Henry and Hans’s bro-buddy relationship is one of the best ever seen in a game.
I couldn't play without "Stay Clean Longer - Get Dirty Gradually". In the Basegame its ridiculous how fast you get dirty. And first Person Flower-Picking is also quite a must have for me.

Also it is better to take of your armors so you don't have to spend a fortune fixing it after a bit of practice (you can leave boots and pants, only halberds can damage it). Oh, and the torch! You can equip/unequip it by holding "1"!
"Henry, you late for the hunt!" "Well i was busy with picking flowers, fixing my boots and some training. And i wanted to practice archery, but the guy weren't there."
Henry, you're come hunting with your boots half-rotten,you can't even hold a bow and still looking for a pointy end of a truncheon. And you can't tell your nettles from your chamomiles. What have you to say for yourself, boy?
Waow... It took this long. It is "Gloat" when i've always assumed it was "Bloat". And it took a british man living in my country to say it in a detailed way.
You're probably ahead by a few episodes but the miller's house where you currently live has free food in a storage room on the back, across the river. It doesn't count as robbing and the door should be open so that should help with your nourishment. It's right next to the chest where you first learn and practice lockpicking.
33:45 When sleeping or waiting you can stop it at the exact time you want by hitting ESC when the clock reaches the time you want to get up. You can eat from any pot you see, though in HC you don't get much nourishment from them. Hunting with Hans... WCGW I can't wait to find out.
In the codex I read that was common in almost all medieval cities that beggar was not allowed to sit it front of private merchant and craftsman shops or houses of residents. They could sit in front of churches or cemeteries. The citizens gave them from time to time the alms, beacause they believed it will make their soul "lighter"
This was a bit of a bug to be honest, I played 2 playthroughs and in both of those the beggar was in fact in front of the private chapel in the upper castle as that's why he was told to go, begging was only allowed in front the other church. The street where the beggar was in Gopher's patrol is in fact always filled with beggars and nobody is bothered at all , they're allowed there, just not anywhere near the upper castle (so past the gateway near the huntsman house) .
@@JezaGaia In my "super hard core" playthrough the game skipped the bit with Nightingale and the beggar because I told Jane she had to go beg in front of the church because it was the law. Nightingale is not merely "walking"; like many experienced city guards, he has mastered the art of Proceeding.
Aase Lange but can has he mastered the art of ending him rightly
"And I tell you, the bastard was supposed to be on his post, but we found him at the tavern, ALL THE WAY INSIDE THE BAR MAID!"
I broke down and bought a PS4 copy of the game and started a hardcore run through. I'm finding the lack of narration by Gopher confusing.
