Honestly every time I hear this song I breakdown in tears because it explains what depression does to me. It don't always does, but when it does it feels exactly what this song is talking about. So when I hear this song, it truly helps me with the depression. Will always probably be my favorite I prevail song

Thank you so much for this! Losing Chester hit me so hard but it also woke me up, helped me to prioritize my mental health. I’m an Army vet and I struggle with depression, PTSD, and anxiety every single day. People usually don’t know when you are at your highest highs or lowest lows unless you let them in…and that is a whole another struggle in itself. I have been so happy to have subbed to hour channel from the first video I every watched and I am in awe of your genuine sincerity in every piece of content you do! Thank you and keep bringing the content because you never know the full affect you can have on someone until you try and connect! Thank you, thank you!

I only recently started listening to these guys and the best way to put their sound, for me at least, is “Linkin Park core”. That’s a a compliment, if music makes me go “wow that sounds like something Linkin Park could write, I’m so in”. Obviously they have they’re own spin, but they (very proudly it seems) wear that influence on their sleeve and I just love it. Also, gotta give a RIP to Chester, the person that made me a metalhead back when I was 10 years old, I was absolutely devastated when he passed and it still doesn’t feel real.

Hey man, I’d just like to say that currently I think I’m probably at my lowest. Like, I just have nothing to show for myself at all, hardly any friends. And videos like this and music like this helps pull you out. It might only be temporary, and you might still fall under, but I suppose it’s nice to have a momentary relief. To feel like even though no one may care at all about you, at least you’re not alone, people out there understand. It isn’t an individual issue. Even just for a little bit, it brings me comfort, so thank you for that.

This was hard to watch but I always enjoy your videos. I was in such a dark place myself last year, spent every day in bed and at one point feeling like I wanted to take my life. My fiance felt helpless and unfortunately started to drag him down with me. But he has been nothing but supportive and helped me get in touch with the doctors. I got the therapy I needed and started anti-depressants, I am not ashamed to say I take them. I can honestly say I'm in a much better place mentally, even with life's up and downs. Also thankyou for kind words and heart warming videos...keep doing what you do :)

I love that they made this, it really kind of conveys what it's like to go through it. As you said, friends & family, people around you will tell you you're not alone, but that's irrelevant, you feel alone.
2021 was my living, breathing, thriving, lucid nightmare, no matter what I did, I just couldn't pull myself out of it, just kept drowning. From that experience, I've come to realize that it's very easy to let the darkness consume you, it's easy to be sad & just wallow in it, it's up to you to pull yourself out of the darkness, no one else is gonna do it for you.
If anyone ever needs to vent or wishes to just chat, get some things off their chest, feel free to message me. We can attempt to defeat the nightmare together.

I feel that the hardest part about helping someone with depression is boundaries. Listening is one of the biggest parts of helping, but to what end? That needs to be established early on in the conversation. Listening is accomplished differently in different cases. Most people, especially dudes will listen all day long and never Hear what you’re saying. They offer solutions and strategies on how to “get over it”, but they never hear the subtle cry for help lying underneath the words. Others want to just absorb your emotions and offer no help or validation for what you’re dealing with. So boundaries are huge so that the listener knows what type of listening is needed and then, on top of all that, be genuine about helping/caring.
Alex does a phenomenal job at being genuine when he talks about caring for all of his viewers. Job well done brother!

As someone who just went through a major bout of depression after losing not only my mother, but my unborn son with the timespan of five months, this is extremely true. But it does get easier. You just have to keep fighting and never give in. Let your friends and family help as much as they can, but at least half the battle is internal. You have to stay strong.

This was one of the songs that helped push me to get help. The message is deep. It shows the cycle that we go through. The pills work but there are still triggers that just bring it all down again. Fortunately in my situation I have my wife and daughter to help along with the rest of my family and friends. They might not understand because they directly suffer but they do get caught in the wake. It's a struggle for all involved but it can get better.

The video for Breaking Down shows exactly what it’s like living with depression. “You don’t control your thoughts; your thoughts control you” is the realest shit I’ve ever heard in my life. I struggle with depression and pretty much every day when I get home from work, I’m in my bed on my phone doing nothing and I’m too depressed to do anything like laundry, taking a shower, etc. so this song and video hits so close to home for me

I remember when I discoverd this band and this song. It immediately hit hard, especially since I have been struggling with anxiety and depression since I was 17. Im 21 now, and the only considerable thing I've done to better my situation is going to the gym 6 times a week and hitting PRs. Other than that I still don't see my future, especially can not imagine me having a girlfriend. I am just so used to my "room" which means that I need my privacy to an almost dangerous extent. And it became so internalized, I may never be able to give it up. On another note, you and Nik are my 2 favourite channels when it comes to checking out new music and i luv ya.

I love songs like this because they come from people who actually understand what it is like. I find most people and even most doctors just do not get it. But the worst are condescending people who delt with minor depression. If you have not been on the brink of taking your own life or made an attempt you have nothing to say! For the love of God if you want to help someone who has major depression and is suicidal just LISTEN without judgment and do not comment unless you are asked to!

Alex, thank you for reacting to this song. Love the band and this song. It's spot on. I deal with this every day. It never feels like I can do right. At work, even when I do get a complement I feel like it's bullshit. Depression is very difficult and should be addressed more and with more compassion. When I say that I am not feeling right I normally get, hang in there. It will get better. But, I got a bracelet at a concert that says, "It's okay to not be okay". That's true. Thanks again.

As much as this song moves me, who has depression knows how difficult the fight is, but as I always say: "as long as there is strength in me, I will keep fighting." Giving up is not an option, fight, we will be able to overcome all this🖤 I can't stop crying, I have goosebumps, I love this song so much, it's amazing 🎶🖤🇧🇷

hey nice to see you react to a song that got me through some rough times in highschool. was getting in a really bad state where looking at it from now i was quite suicidal. I got help 2 years ago and I now see the skills it gave me but depression is insanely tough.

It's really important that the people you love are supportive when you're dealing with these thoughts. Its impossible to fight the voice inside when the person or people who are the most important to you don't try to understand and make you feel worse. This happens too much because the "Attention getters" have made it impossible to talk about it and be taken seriously. Sad world we live in.

I've been dealing with depression for over 20 years now and it's an awful thing to go through, it effects my family, friends and ex's that still try to help me on a daily basis. It isn't as bad as it used to be, because I used drugs to numb myself so I didn't have to feel anything. Music and alot of TH-camrs such as alex have helped me alot, by being incredibly caring, and saying that I'm not alone. So I just want to say thank you to alex and other TH-camrs that have been so supportive. Much love and respect. 🙏😊🤘

One of the most essential tools that a man once shared with me was too view depression as a demon or a separate entity. It will always convince you that you need to stay here and you need to be in this dark energy it will do it’s best to keep its grips on your ankle. It convinces you that you need it without it life is empty. Once you start to realize the patterns and the games it plays with you and identify it, start to view it as a different entity, and challenge it, it will feel WEIRD but it helps.
