Adrenaline is a chemical which needs to be used. 30 seconds of running or some sort of muscular exercise and it's gone like it never was there. Now, having said that being scared stiff is real. The chemicals of fright are so strong it takes quite a bit of courage to actual move at times. Your brain is frozen too. In humans we can say to ourselves that this is a chemical so use it and that we are not mentally afraid. Perhaps a doggy massage would work the adrenaline out, I don't know. Grab a treat and make the dog follow you in the yard or house. Some sort of brief exercise will get rid of the shakes in humans.

We got our Shih Tzu at 3 months. He is jumpy, and scared of everything. He has been well loved here. So I don't understand why He is skittish. Is someone comes over he hides under the bed and barks. He only comes out if I go to the door he'll follow me and then he'll bark and then he'll run back under the bed. He seems to behalf here with women than he is men. Is there anything I can do for him?
