Thank you for showing us that beautiful vehicle. Nothing more beautiful than the shapes and curves of the cars of the 50's. Regards, Rob.

Radios, in those days, used vacuum tubes. You have to let the radio warm up before you'll get audio.

Beautiful Chevy in a rare color that slays me! That wide aftermarket mirror isn't a "like it or leave it" proposition for a past owner. It is legally required for a deaf person to qualify for a driver's license in many states. My Dad had a '54 210 assigned him as a company car, and I have vivid recollections of his stoplight racing someone in it when I was about 4 years old. He became very safety oriented as he matured, and installed seat belts in his 1959 Plymouth. We wouldn't leave the house unless all 6 of us were buckled up.

Bought one in '56 - Lost the timing gear on the New York Thruway near Utica, Towed to a garage, where the owner assisted me in replacing it "On the Cheap". Didn't have much money at the time - Just out of engineering school in Chicago on my way to visit family in New Hampshire.

This is just tooooooo cool !!, My grandparents always bought Chevy's back in the day, every 2 yr s, They bought new as follows :, a 1950, '52 '54, '56 , 'Belairs ( Deluxe in 1950 I believe ), then the cost went up in price, So they waited till , 1961, Impala, then a 1966 Caprice, then 1972 Caprice, last car was a 1981 Caprice.

The clock is a 100% mechanical wind-up clock. The only thing electrical about it is the back light that illuminates it with the other dash lights. The winding will last 3 days before having to rewind it again. Picture this like an old-school wristwatch back in the day before quartz movement battery power.

A forgotten fact about the cast iron Powerglides , they have a pump in the front and rear of the transmission , which allows them to be pull started when the battery is run down .

Turn signal cam needs to be replaced. That's why it isn't cancelling off after your turns. The cam is made of a plastic or neoprene, and they get brittle with age and break.
