Hi Sara, regarding the passenger footwell looks like you said there are three of those clips…that’s what I’ve always had since the first time I changed the cabin filter. Somehow if I remember it seems there’s holes for at least one additional clip? I always wondered since there’s a good chance my Model 3 was built in the “tent” back when they were going through production hell and they just forgot a clip. But next time you take a peek down there, see if there are extra holes that may indicate a missing clip. Thanks again for all of your videos, not only are they informative but your personality comes across and I can tell you’re simply an angel of a human being.
Thank you! Yes, mine has 4 holes but only 3 clips too. And many others have told me the same thing! 😂 I wonder why also. Can’t be to save money, must have been to save time. You can probably just buy some online but I haven’t really found the need for the 4th so I haven’t wasted my time or money. But you ARE correct! We are all missing a clip!
You'll probably find that a longer cigarette lighter to box wire is something you can source quite easily. It was hard to tell but it looks like a standard connector that plugs into it. Well done for getting stuck in, I've had rear ambient lights sat in a box for about 2 months because I've been too anxious about pulling bits of trim apart, and you just go straight for it :)
That dash strip should have been a bit bent towards front on the right side.. If the visible wire triggers you that light hotspot makes me bonkers. Did you notice any different about lightning strength in the end part of fiber that in the beginning of fiber. Cameras ISO values lie a bit..

Haha! Thank you! Yeah, I was basically dying doing this install. Not really but I did consider deleting my channel and driving my car off a cliff. 😂 It would have been fine and fun if I had no responsibilities, no time constraints, and Fall weather. The company surprisingly said they would try to lengthen that one chord and change the install instructions;) So it was successful in the end. Very good job Sara! I’ve been thinking of getting something like this, mostly because I found out that it’s almost impossible to use auto pilot and FSD when it’s pitch dark out. My interior is so dark that my car will keep telling me to take over because it thinks I’m not watching the road because it can’t see my eyes. I’m definitely going to have to get some sort of interior lighting.
@@SaraJAwesome I’m not sure why I was having trouble with it but I may have an idea. We were going on a long trip to Vegas (traveled over 2,300 miles total there and back) and we recently bought a sun visor for the glass roof. The first 1 and a half hours of driving, I pretty much could not use FSD/Autopilot/Cruise Control because every few minutes it kept telling me to take over. Great tutorial. Hhelpful to show another (possibly preferable) way to install. Bless you for always trailblazing and showing the best way to remove panels. Until it's done, very often, we wouldn't know which end to start with. You take the risk on our behalf so we don't run the risk of breaking tabs. Good Job SJ! Ive just put the Tesla OEM mudguards on my Series 3. Wasn't a hard install, but I didn't use the splashguard as it had a minuscule ground clearance. Here in Australia they would be scuffing the ground all the time. Would be interested in your view.
Nice! Very special effects! I still have no Tesla to trick out, but I am finally about to receive my Starlink! Let’s see now, a Starlink roof mount in the middle of July. That should be plenty hot up there while I install it. Anyway, your Tesla lighting kit looks great! Thanks for the detailed look at the install!
Will do. I am hoping for the best. Dreaming of Gigabit speeds, if not now, maybe in the future. Assuming I don’t fall off the roof, it should be quite the adventure.
I’m not sure. But if I’m being honest, hiding these wires were an absolute nightmare. Make sure you watch Both videos I made on these lights before deciding to go for it;) You can get them on Amazon so I would just read the product description and see if they say it will work with your model. However, I don’t see why they wouldn’t work. You just cut the tubing to fit. It’s pretty generic, and I had plenty of extra length. I do love them, and use them every time I drive in the dark.
I agree ☝️ 💯, there are aftermarket lights for the handles and you can probably get a glow in the dark sticker for the trunk button. But I’m not familiar with any unfortunately. Maybe that’s something I can look into eventually.
Yeah, super annoying. You have to turn them on too. There are ways to hardwire it into some of your stock interior lights or the “cigarette” lighter wires. But I wasn’t ready to chance that .
@@SaraJAwesome the good idea is to connect it to the „ foot light” wire. When you do this you are able to switch it on/off from the screen menu as a atmosphere light. It works like OEM staff 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. But I saw it done with a set that was equipped with a lamp that had to be placed instead of an original foot light. In you set you left the foot light as it was and just put additional one without any connection with the car’s wires
Awesome effect, but I just don't like the fact that they just plug into the 12v socket in the centre console and you have to manually switch them on and off. Would be much better if they worked like the standard footwell and door puddle lights.
Yes!!!! There is a glare! So bad I turn it off sometimes if I’m driving somewhere that I’m not familiar with the roads, or if I’m tired or can’t pay attention already. It is distracting. You can learn to ignore it, but it takes a bit. Kind of light the blind spot camera at night 😂
Again you always provide good details like how the panels pop out and how some of the screws sit and what may happen when you do this. This is the kind instruction that anyone can follow. Bravo! PS I have put in my order for a Model Y! It is long range has a tow hitch and is blue! Eta December! I am both excited and frightened! Any advice?
Thank you, Eric!!!! I really appreciate that!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Welcome to the family!!!! I’m so excited for you! We just got a model y too! You’re gonna LOVE it!!! Great job Sara! You’re so brave popping off panels everywhere!! Haha I haven’t even had 1 panel off yet on mine. I really should change my own filter at least. Anyhow, great job getting it to look as good as you could! Final product is definitely worth it. Happy 4th to you and your family!
Thank you so much!!!!!! Eh, you can do it. Teslas actually have the EASIEST panels to pop off. I love it. I gotta change filters in both our cars now. You need a plastic tool for sure. Happy 4th to y’all too!!
It took me 2 hours sitting there trying to create a new map for the wires and my own directions, and then 9 hours hands on install time. Broken up over 3 days because I have a life. Had to drive around with panels off for two days with partial install 😂
When it’s cooler out I will probably take some of the extra wire and spice it to extend that wire between the plug into the power box. That way I can put the power box and the other jumbled wires more under the hvac system. If that makes sense. I think I just need some wire connectors from Home Depot. But I’m not sure.
@@SaraJAwesome that is just cool! You made me laugh on the life bit, of course you do!! It does look really cool. I think look into this a little more. Love the effect of it and always wanted that really cool looking car! :)
Hey Sara love the video content keep it up. Question is it worth buying it due to seeing lots of mix reviews on Amazon. I’m kind of iffy on buying it since it is cheap. And since you gotten the lights do they still work?
My lights still work, and I still love them. BUT hiding those wires was such a pain in the butt I would not buy this same kit again. I could do such a better job redesigning the wires to easily hide all of them. Now if you’re capable of splicing wires to extend some and shorten others, then you could make it better. But I wasn’t willing to do that. Out of curiosity, what state do you live in?
@@SaraJAwesome Thanks for the insight. That’s actually great to hear that they still work. I really want them to last longer than what the reviews say. I was thinking of buying some super expensive ones and have someone install them but I don’t think that’s actually necessary as I still need to ppf my car. Me from cali.
Dm me on Instagram, Twitter or email me at sarajawesome@yahoo.com. Instagram is best because I’m on always on there. Got a surprise for you if you want it.
No, they’re super annoying that way. You can hardwire them in, but I don’t know how to do it properly and it certainly doesn’t tell you in the directions because it would obviously be a liability. My two lights under back seats stopped working for no reason on these after a few months. I no longer recommend this brand. Too much pain, not enough gain.

Thank you, after several months though.. I do not recommend these. They have not help up well.
The only problem is that the lights don’t go off when you leave the car, right?
I agree ☝️, others have spliced some wires and hardwired it into the cabin light, but I’m not quiet there yet. I turn mine off and on with the app.
Nice job! Is there a glare or reflection on the windshield from the dashboard light?
Yes!!!! There is a glare! So bad I turn it off sometimes if I’m driving somewhere that I’m not familiar with the roads, or if I’m tired or can’t pay attention already. It is distracting. You can learn to ignore it, but it takes a bit. Kind of light the blind spot camera at night 😂
What a fab job Sara fair play 👏😎🇮🇪
Thanks, Mary!!!!!!!!!
How do you connect to the app?
Woot woot
Right?!
On advice I can’t think of anything at the moment because Happy 4th! But if you want you can follow me on Instagram or Twitter @sarajawesome and message me on there with any questions you have. I can give you advice there if I think of anything.
Excellent tutorial. I have been thinking of doing this to my model Y. So tempted now, good confidence builder. How long did it take?
Haha! Thanks Randy! 😉
@@SaraJAwesome
Thanks for the insight. That’s actually great to hear that they still work. I really want them to last longer than what the reviews say. I was thinking of buying some super expensive ones and have someone install them but I don’t think that’s actually necessary as I still need to ppf my car. Me from cali.
Hey, DM me on Instagram. My profile on Instagram is sarajawesome
Dm me on Instagram, Twitter or email me at sarajawesome@yahoo.com. Instagram is best because I’m on always on there. Got a surprise for you if you want it.
idk why mine drains the battery so much
Thank you
None of these kits auto turn off
No, they’re super annoying that way. You can hardwire them in, but I don’t know how to do it properly and it certainly doesn’t tell you in the directions because it would obviously be a liability. My two lights under back seats stopped working for no reason on these after a few months. I no longer recommend this brand. Too much pain, not enough gain.
Did I just see hemostats ??? Haha…nope scissors ✂️
😂 yeah… those are surgical scissors 😆 oops! But they sure cut well with the tips!! Hahahahahaha
Clean it late , never cleaned it later lmao
