The last 50 miles before you get into Valdez is the most beautiful part of Alaska I’ve ever seen. Denali and that area between Sutton and Glennallen is nice, too, but this is my favorite!
It has taken me several weeks but I have made it through your whole Alaska playlist. I have loved it. Its like reading a great travel book. Has given me so many ideas and things I will do through you only ( polar bear plunge is cool but not for this 64 year old lady) but so fun to watch. Thank you
Great videos folks. It really was a rainy summer. I love how you know how to pronounce Valdez properly too. Denali was beautiful as always. I was lucky enough to win the Denali Road lottery several years back and drive my own truck all the to Wonder Lake. That was an experience. Anyway thank you for your adventures
@@leonelaguiar6868 yes! I live here now! I moved last year in August about 8 months ago all the way from Florida! I am going to Valdez in a few weeks. Taking the ferry from Whittier and driving back to Eagle River (just north of Anchorage).
Great video. Kudos to you folks. Most people do not know that AK has rain just about everyday in the summer. I finally decided to order this November a Global X Vehicle, Eclipse. A 4X4 RV. Will be touring the Northwest quadrant of the US next Spring along with the BC area. Towing our open aluminum 14' dual axle trailer. We like to ride cycles. Eventually will experience AK first hand as did you folks.
Awesome video. It hard to believe that you have to wear long sleeves (and more) in August. We don't hardly wear that many clothes in the dead of winter in southeast TEXAS. I guess I should try and pick up a few "wintery" outfits before we leave for our trip up north. Thanks for sharing.
+TexasRoadrunners yes you will want to plan for the whole gamut of weather. We encountered everything from in the 90’s to the 20’s throughout the summer. Also don’t forget good rain gear!
pretty sure i saw you there this year. If i remember right, you had 2 coolers up on the walking path, and there were 2 or 3 older people fishing with you.
Your going to enjoy the journey! We are going back in 2019 with family caravaning with us and Valdez is one area we will be going back to, to spend more time in!
We actually have an engine retarder that slows us by using the engine versus our brakes which helps us out on big grades. Its a nice feature that most diesel pushers have.
+Chickery's Travels in all it took us nearly 8 hours. According to our video time stamps we started at 10am and arrived at 6:30pm. We did stop for about an hour outside Glenallen for lunch plus a couple of photo op stops. It was one of our largest drive days if not the longest inside Alaska.
as you probably know by now, 1/3 of that route is solid hard shiny ice at that time of year. studded tires are a good idea if you have them and/or drive very carefully.
🤣 Yes we know that now. There’s always a first time for someone when pronouncing names. That video was from 2017 when we first visited. And now we live here and not too far from the Knik. Thanks for reminding us we’re only human. 😂

I will make sure to drive to Valez one weekend after I move to Anchorage. Looks like a great trip with beautiful scenery and a beautiful town.
There is work there?

Valdez is magical!
The views are insane! Thank you for sharing.
How often do you have to fill up the DEF stuff , is it every 4 or 5 tankfuls of diesel ? Or much more than that

We see you brought along your 4 wheeler, Can you ride a Side by Side around Alaska ?
Yes. In fact after spending this summer with friends on their Ranger we have now upgraded to a Polaris Ranger Northstar UTV.
Very beautiful video
Stunning drive! And no traffic! Loved the group selfie and the waterfall! How long did the 315 miles take to drive?

eureka lodge or sheep mountain?
Hello! I'm thinking about doing this drive in February. How many places are there to stop for gas along the way?
Anchorage to Valdez? or up to Alaska?
Anchorage to Valdez.
Gas would be available in GlenAllen which is the midway point between the two. In all its 315 miles to drive and took us 8 hours.
Thank you!

The kinik River.
Yeah I realized I mispelled it after I imported the video... you caught me. I was hoping to get away with it and no one noticed. Sharp eye. Hahaha
The scenery, fine, the music, bad. Not my type at all.
