She once explained this. Bad Romance is about when your fear of losing someone is so strong that you'd want even the disgusting things from someone (I want your ugly, i want your disease)
It’s also about sex trafficing, without the sex trafficing part bad romance wouldn’t be in the fame monster albulm
The very ending is also literally showing how the "Bad Romance" is killing her and has already killed him. She doesn't care that he's dead and a skeleton. Doesn't care that she's wasting away there in that burned bed because even with the bones, she's there with the person she loves.
Which is exactly why it was apart of the Fame Monster. Every song represents a fear of hers.
“Mainstream”? That’s laughable. This song revived and changed pop music. Everything artists do now is influenced bc of her.

@@pavelpavel7217 it has a lot of meanings to her, not only that, gaga says that her music videos are an extention of the song and she overlaps a metaphor on top of the one that already exist in the song, and the video is about the toxicity of the music industry and how it's practically sexual trafficking for women, so she conceived the song with that meaning too because she says that when she writes her songs she thinks about the music videos

Just the melody resonates deeply with me to this day, whenever I hear it it awakens old memories, and the impressions of stuff I can't clearly remember anymore.
I get this feeling, almost like a taste in my mouth or a smell inside my head.

This is one of Gaga's songs where the lyrics are a bit darker in comparison to the dance heavy music you hear them being sang with. Her most recent album does that throughout the album where the music itself makes you want to dance despite the lyrics covering some more serious topics. She is a very interesting artist in that aspect.
