I'm still holding on to my DVD boxes of Friends because select episodes had unaired footage seamlessly put back into the original broadcast episodes. They failed to do this with the blurays and it looks like they're doing the same thing with the 4ks as well. I'll happily keep my DVD boxes until they include this footage.
Totally agree. The cuts left the audience confused. The extra footage really helped to complete the scenes and it is really crazy that they don't do whatever it takes to find and restore that footage into the 4K set.
@@scotthassel8124Supposedly all of the documentation for the extended episodes was lost. I find that strange as they rescanned them all to 4K so how much longer would it have taken to redo the longer shows. Just taking the least amount of effort to get them out knowing the fans will still buy them.
I don’t mind Friends, but we don’t even have some other shows like Buffy or Angel on blu ray yet. Those should have been out on blu ray a looooooooooong time ago!

And The Terminator 4k has just gone up for pre order on HMV and Zavvi in the UK. Already got the 4k of The Sadness. Friends was shot on 35mm film using Panavision Panaflex 2000 cameras for HD TV some high profile shows were shot like this so it will look really good. Arrow will fix the colour timing issue that Kino didn’t still think the Criterion commentary with director, stars and Ted Tally and John Douglas is the best single commentary for the film, but they’re not giving that up.
Hopefully the FRIENDS 4k release will lead to TWD, Supernatural, and the X Files 4k sets. I'm really surprised FRIENDS was the 1st one to get that treatment.
You do great work and I love the channel and it's hard to mention every single release, but The Perfect Weapon from Kino Lorber is also coming out this week. It's an excellent martial arts movie from the early 90's

Friends 4K better bring the extended episodes. I pre-ordered. I love Friends and immediately didn’t care about price. It’s my favorite show of all time. I’ve been waiting for this moment. No hesitation. I have the original DVD sets, blu-ray collector set and I can’t wait for the 4K release. Apple has it on streaming through iTunes which I have but the HD versions haven’t included extended episodes. I am really hoping this release will include the extra stuff like the Conan interview, all gag reels, and just everything.

Nice to see Friends getting a 4K box set but not sure it necessary. Need some of these TV sets on blu-ray at an affordable price first - for example no Seinfeld on blu-ray yet. Been buying a bunch of TV shows on DVD - grabbed DVD as some you can not find on blu-ray and some are just too much in that format.

Arrow Video U.S. has been struggling to get good distribution deals considering the only big box set U.S. release is Clash and Wrath of the Titans. 😅Clearly Criterion and Shout/Scream factory is currently the Bain of existence for Arrows ability to get US distribution rights.

Sony is prob thinking if someone just wants a vanilla 4k film they'll buy it on digital. They are making the 4k steelbooks for the collectors. I know it would be nice to have a choice of disc but I'm happy if we are only getting 1 disc version we're getting the nicest one
The limited edition slipcase + slipcover combo of the Sadness 4k was limited to only 2000 I was too late. The movie is so good honestly. That was a great pick-up I so wish you will do a review whenever you get it. Your opinion means so much to us.
The only reason that Jaws 3 looks terrible on Blu-ray is the fact that they try to have the 3D also on the same disc as a bonus feature instead of making it a single disk by itself and with that being said the 3D aspect bleeded on the sides of the standard edition not really noticeable very much when you watch it on an HD television but you pop that in on a 4K TV and it destroys the entire movie hence why is the only reason I've never went back to watch the movie once I got my 4K with Dolby vision
Kenny, you should watch Oliver Harper's review of Jawls 3. He goes in depth why Jawls 3 will always look bad in 2D. It wasn't made for 2D. Don't get it unless you plan on watching the 3D version.
the art looks way better on the Desperado only release...it should've gotten a boxset on its own... I love the box sets but I think I am just buying Desperado

As a non Friends fan I hope this sells well so it shows studios how people want older shows on blu ray. Most older shows, unless very popular, are stuck on dvd and it’s kinda sad cause a lot of these old shows are good
Ken, The Sadness is actually a Taiwanese movie and keep in mind, it’s not only a very very bloody and gory movie, it’s also very depraved since the movie took inspiration from the crazy fucked up comic called Crossed.
Well they have reason to fear what HBO will, do. there latest MO is to remove entirely from streaming after its released in physical set. It has to do with them having to pay residuals.
Finally DRIVE, I have 4 versions of the film steelbook already but have been waiting for a U.S. version! It is after all my favorite movie of all-time. I don't love that artwork tho on the front.

If the OCN is available for El Mariachi, then a 4K would be worth it. There's been plenty of movies shot on "cheap 16mm." People are just being apologists for Arrow. Once Upon a Time in Mexico was released in a resolution of 1920 x 1080, but that doesn't mean they recorded it in that resolution. They could re-render to 4K. Arrow may have not been able to get the 4K rights or they didn't want to pay or something. Nobody except Arrow and the studio really knows.
Drive is in my top 50 films of all-time list. It is such a neat experience especially the first time you see it because the film is so unique. The anxiety and suspense of the beginning of that film is absolutely unmatched. This 4k steelbook is definitely going into my collection. Concerning the Jaws films....ugh. Jaws 3 is bad and Jaws the Revenge is one of the worst films ever made. Concerning Friends 4K...that is awesome. I hope more TV shows come out on 4K. I have waited forever for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul to come out on 4K and I am starting to doubt it will. Hopefully this is big enough that those shows and many more come to 4K disc.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I like the standard versions better than the steelbooks for Jaws 3 and Revenge. The Revenge has the potential to look amazing in 4k HDR or DV 🤞.
Paramount seems to be the king of disc mistakes these days. Wrong f/x scene on Picard season 3, messed up audio on Rosemary's Baby, now Titanic. I feel like I'm fast becoming friends with someone at Paramount's customer service department.

I was actually shocked to see the $249 price tag. Thought for what it offered it could have easily been twice that.
I see it as about a dollar per episode.

Jaws 3 has baked in shortcomings because of how it was shot. Same system used for Amityville 3-D and Friday the 13th Part 3.

Regarding the Mexico trilogy. Both The Evil Dead original and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was shot on 16mm and yet they have fantastical 4k releases.
