Happy New Year Ellen !!! I have my Lentils ready to eat at midnight( It’s an Italian tradition for good health and prosperity in the New Year). Tomorrow my family tradition is Pork and Sauerkraut with Kielbassa and Mashed Potatoes. Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year!!
@@LC14-q4xHi LC! No special recipe. I follow the directions on the bag and once they are cooked and tender, I will add them to some sautéed onions in a frying pan . Heat the onion and lentils together for a few , add salt and pepper . I also will just add raw to chicken broth, add carrots , onion and celery for a lentil soup. Or I will add sometimes to other soups for variation. I have added cooked lentils to rice and I have made baba ghanoosh ( eggplant dish) and added lentils to that. I love both eggplant and lentils.

Happy New Year! I made a Prime Rib Roast and my son and his family came over, now it's 9 pm and I'm ready for bed. Big partiers here. LOL. I"m really looking forward to 2025. Really hoping to have a lot of personal growth in the up coming year, at least I'm going to work on it. First thing this morning we took our car to have the antifreeze flushed and refilled and then a quick breakfast at Hardees, so I end 2024 with a red X.

It's 42 degrees, high of 46 today. I went a few miles away and bought a 1/3 of a cord of red oak firewood.,🔥🤔 It was $75. Should last the rest of the season. After some cloudy days, the 🌞 is supposed to finally come out tomorrow. The wind generator is spinning like crazy, so I'll use that to make some pancakes 🥞 and coffee ☕. Stay warm, it's going to be pretty cold ❄️🥶 outside.
Some are processed but I also do a lot of cooking from scratch. Sometimes I just get lazy and I like the convenience of just pulling something out of the freezer.

Those meatballs look delicious. I heard that Aldi was going to discontinue them. So, I tried my own recipe. And they are better.
They turned out surprisingly good with the barbecue sauce.
