    In 1991 I was 13 and a professor of my school, had a 155 1800, brand new. I liked it immediatly so much. For more than a year I was trying to convice my father to buy one. Although he also liked it, he was always responding: " If we buy it, we must sell our old car"... a Fiat Ritmo 125 tc , something I didn' t want.
    So after 10 years , I bought myself a 33, later sold for a 75 1600, last one scrapped after an accident and replaced by a 75 1800 in 2010. But no155....
    And the Ritmo is still in my garage!
    I wish good luck for the restoration!!

    This is going to be fun to watch. It seems that Gabriele Tarquini really did wonders for the 155 up there in the UK, where I hear the car is quite well-regarded by enthusiasts. Here in Italy, no matter how much the 155 won on the racetrack, people didn't buy it. It sold half as much as the 75 that preceded it, and interest in the model remains low today. It was a much better car than people give it credit for, though.

      @@NaNa-wj8twdoubtful given the Alfasud's ground breaking handling.

    • @timhancock6626
      @timhancock6626 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@NaNa-wj8tw Not so. The problem I think was partly looks and partly because it was seen as too much Fiat and not enough Alfa. Most cars are FWD so thats not what stops them selling. The Facelift looked a lot better, but came too late. If you think FWD is a problem then you never watched Gabrielle Tarquini in a 155.

    My first Alfa was a black widebody and I absolutely loved it. 6 Alfa's later I'd love to acquire another 155 one day. I'm going to enjoy watching this series. May the Alfa Gods smile down on you.

    Yes, yes! 155! Not an easy shape for bodywork because of the relativly flat panels. But I sure this is gonna be gorgeous!

    Hi the Vacancy seems to be holding up well on the rear cross member of my wheel's of steel after a year. But there's another product I have bought but haven't tried yet for rust prevention called Lanoguard that's made from sheep's it's self healing and uses lanolin which I believe makes sheep waterproof. Just a heads up Incase you haven't heard of it as it could be worth a go but apparently has to be applied yearly.

    i do not now if you now or same body tell you. but if you put a pies of coper under the hols(or teak alo) it will help to hold the welding. :~)

    • @J0uwMoeder
      @J0uwMoeder ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have been going up quite nicely for about 4 years now, at least on mainland Europe.
      A nice and tidy 2.0 16v has gone up from about 2500-3500 euro to about 5000-7000 euro in that time, I would estimate.
      Rock bottom for these is quite some years ago. You could get a pretty nice 2.0 16v for about 1500-2000 euro's back then.
