I have done something vaguely odd that people seem to criticize me for. When reading a textbook, I would usually photocopy the excerpt I am reading and use a Black Calligraphy Pen to remove unnecessary information from the text. It's sort of reverse highlighting. I got that idea from reading redacted documents and it really enhances the essential information better than a highlighter ever could.
This is useful trust me ^_^ im halfway in a 900 page college txtbook, In 1 week. And still retain most of the important information. Engrng student here.
Thank you Anna- this vid was recommended by a fellow student (we're all taking an online literature course). There's tons of reading so being able to get through it at speed and take good notes is key. I did the test and managed to get my speed up from 201 to 259 with no loss of comprehension.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! I'M SO LUCKY! I NEED TO READ MY WHOLE MATH TEXTBOOK BECAUSE I HAVE A COMPETITION COMING UP ON SEPTEMBER 21 AND A SCIENCE COMPETITION ON SEPTEMBER 22. I REALLY NEEDED THIS!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Hey Anna it's me again. I just wanted to thank u for you're help and all you're work on this youtube. I past all exams and also the hardest exam cognitive psychology. It wasn't easy. At the uni I was all alone, nobody to help, not like this. If I had a problem with studying or with a textbook I watched you're video's. Now I'm preparing for a new semester and i'm a little scared because they added a new course qualitative data analysis. I have no idea what to expect. Thank u again Anna.
2:25 I did that in the Toefl exam. I Did the "what dose this (word) mean in line 20" type questions first (because they are easy [i.e. free points -sometimes] ); and by reading bits of a passage, it was easier to read the whole passage when it came to solving "what does the passage mainly talks about".
Thank you for making this I have to start college online due to covid-19 and am being told to read multiple textbooks with minimal direction from zoom but I wanted to actually retain the subject matter and because of this video I know I can and will and am no longer feeling overwhelmed.... YOU ROCK!
I'm so late, but this is perfect. I'm a returning student working full time and have a lot of family responsibility. Everything you said was right on the mark, especially number 6.
I have 3 exames to pass 13 days from today, and we orally answer the final exams.. we don't have tests, we must learn from books which have about 200pages..and i was woundering if you can make a video about that..
Maybe this video on preparing for an oral examination can be helpful to you: th-cam.com/video/PdasrqfaGSE/w-d-xo.html You can do it! 13 days is a good amount of time if used efficiently ^_^
OMG, yes when I would start losing interest reading, when I was in HS when and I didn't want to do my HW😖, I would definitely just read the Activity pages so I knew what the test would involve and scavenger hunt the terms, and try to memorize the bullet points, and answer questions mentally. The downfall I have no idea how to take notes in classroom or when I'm alone.
Yes,ana plz do video on how to have effective reading session, and I actually start with the determination of finishing particular chapter in 2/3 hrs, which at the end of the day takes like 4/5 hrs to finish it up and all others tasks go bang bang...😓 , so plz do help out with this.
Are you seriously a human???! You are freaking awesome, Man! 😘😘🤘 -blessed Ana, can you make a video on how to take/make history notes.? ❤️🤤🤤🤤😃 My exams are coming up soon and I need to catch up with history

Hey ana thanks a lot for this video and can you please make a video on study schedule how do I stick to it so that I can manage my sleep and how do you manage your social media time as well ? Because I fail to follow a planner or a timetable ?
Hey Ana!! I would like a video on your favorite books to read for success, inspiration, for increasing self esteem and confidence to get back up and try harder.
I really need this!!! 😍😍 I should do #2 because it's look like it saves more time rather than reading the whole chapter😒😒. I don't remember if you made a video of how to deal with boring professor? My sociology professor can't engage the class, all she did was talk for the whole section without any PowerPoint. 😑😑
Thank u Ana. It's really amazing. Thanks a lot. Please tell me how I can improve my short term memory. I need it. My admission test is knocking at the door. I'm waiting for next Thursday. And give some tips to recall anything faster.
I'm learning a ton from your videos. Great stuff! Can you share some tips on how to actively read e-textbooks? I've tried to print the chapters out but the app won't let me. When I copy and paste into a word doc its all jumbled up. How do you take notes when using e-textbooks? Thanks
Hi Anna thank u so much for this video! Please please make a video about setting up an effective study session for multiple subjects or topics. PLEASE ❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜💜❤️
Thaank Youu Anaaaa. Loved the Video ^__^ ⚘ What if I need to read more than 1 textbook i.e. for different subjects ? If I focused just on one, I'll be lacking behind in the other subjects. Shall I just try to read as much as I can from each ?
Hey Anna ! definitely loved the video as usual, So I saw that you're a book lover and your book choices seems good, Can you do a video about it ? I mean your favorite books and your recommendations.. it would be cool !
Hello Romaissa. Thank you so much ^_^ 💖 I actually do have a video up about some of my favorite books: th-cam.com/video/QMWAKIB4Rfg/w-d-xo.html I hope some of them will inspire you to give them a chance :)
Hey ! Cant wait for the next video.. All these productivity tips all over the internet.. but it takes time to successfully imbibe all those requisite qualities in order to gain momentum and have successful days. In the mean time what should really be ones psychology after a hardcore 4 hour morning session going into a break so that we don't slip up during the break and end up wasting more time than required.. ? :)
You write so beautifully Aashish. I applaud you for being such a hard worker. ^_^ Breaks should be just that, a legit break - the most "work" you should do during a study break is plan or cross out the tasks you did on your to do list. You can go outside for a bit, cook a nice meal, take a shower, spend time with your family. It should be a reward for your hard work. :) Watching a TV series or a movie may be a bad idea because they will make you relax a bit too much hahaha then you might not want to get back to work. But that is just what works for me..I hope this was still helpful to you my dear friend.
I'm gonna be honest with you.. i wrote the same comment on a couple other pages too.. but i never got a response.. this just shows us your actual want to serve your loyal followers ( friends ! ). I hope you get all the success due to your credit.. i wish you very well ! And I hear you ! i have to let that Netflix Subscription go i guess :p ( means less Gilmore Girls for me Dangggg it :p :D ) also thank you for appreciating my writing. No one has ever done that before :')
You should try and focus more on understanding what you are reading rather than how fast you are reading. There should be a balance between the two. You can do it Ismat. ^_^ Try active reading - it personally really helped me.
excellent but couldn't focus at first as your lipstick matched the flowers!
hahaha really? I didn't do it on purpose I swear XD
@@AnaMascara hahaha
Now that i saw it i can not ignore it!!! Damn🤣😂
@@Adi-ol5wy i was here to write exactly what u said..😅😅
