They have dates available Monday through Friday and different times because it only takes 30 minutes so you can pick any date they were not backed up, back up at all
For anyone asking in Jamaica they do not have courthouse weddings the RGD is the place you can get married in as if it’s the “courthouse”. The main building is the (Spanish town) location like she said. But if you go on the website they have many other locations on the island. My husband and I did the exact same thing in this video except we went to the RGD in Kingston and was able to have our ceremony there. I hope this video helps you all because it helped me a lot. The tax stamp office is blocks away from the (notary/justice of the peace) so I would so carry cash we paid the notary 4000JMD but everyone has different prices (she was lucky to have it done free). And the tax stamp was 4000JMD as well. So price in total was 4000JMD for the notary (bring 1 witness over 18 with their ID). 4000JMD for the tax stamp on your documents. *We paid 600JMD for copies of our documents at the ministry of justice. 18,000JMD for the ceremony (bring atleast two witnesses over 18 with their ID, but they have a max amount of people who can come it is about 9). In total to get married we paid 26,600. Little under $200usd. Great video but ask questions in person they do make you run around. Doing everything in Kingston worked for us because nothing was more than 15 minutes away. The Spanish town location is almost 40 minutes away from everything and I didn’t want to drive that far over. The RGD website has everything you need!
hello! Great video, I as wondering when you went to the courthouse to make the appointment to get married, was the date set a little far or could you get married in the same week?
Hello, I saw earlier in the comments that you are American as well :) For you Birth certificate did you provide your original or Certified copy? Also is the only Ministry of Justice in Kingston..... Seems like such a long journey from Trelawny. Thank you in advance for your help!
If we are both coming from different countries and we’re not Jamaican decent, is the process the same? As well, did you have to make any prior preparations other than making sure you had the right documents? Once you got married at the courthouse, was there any additional steps? Thank you very much for posting :)
To be honest, I’m not sure how it goes when you’re coming from two different countries. But you can always call the registry general office in Spanish town and they will let you know the steps.
Great info, thanks! I wish they had a similar set-up over in Montego Bay or Negril vice Kingston.
Thanks for this information ❤ Congratulations again 🎉

Yes the same week ☺️
I heard you can get married right at the RGD instead of the courthouse and receive your marriage certificate 3 day after. Do you know if this is true?

No JMD
Did you need any forms of ID or documentations?
Yes and birth certificate
Do you have to go to the rgd or is that for ceremony
Hello and thank you, I have a question, do we have to bring witness to the court house, or can it be be just the 2 of us
You have to have two witnesses to sign at Court
How many days did it take to do everything?
You can get everything done in one day
Stamp office when it opens up at 9 AM and your justice of the peace in your area to sign and you’re done
Can I do all the leg work alone?
Yes, you can do everything alone. Just make sure he is there the wedding day . 😂don’t do that part alone lol😁
How much did you spend all together
4 thousand dollars, JMD , which is less than $25 US
but you said you paid $18,000? i dont understand
My husband paid 4000 for the stamp and $18,000 to get married at the courthouse so it was a total of $ JMD 22,000
18000 Jamaican dollars????
