Section 3 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 limits itself to prescribing punishment for someone who prevents others from singing the National Anthem, or disturbs those who are singing the Anthem. The law is silent on ‘sitting’ or ‘standing’ while the Anthem is playing. Besides we can describe this video as equivalent to anyone singing it. By singing , one pays homage verbally. Here the group has done it visually.
