ahhh... it's still brought me to tears. After watching Ace's death, from that time, I no longer have the courage to continue on watching. because before watching Impel down arc, I was still on Sabaody arc. and I couldn't watch anymore because of pain, that they were divided and I was too busy on school days. so, my big sister kept the Laptop, at first my older sister hates *ONE PIECE* to the extent that she despised the animation of it. but she was curious when she saw me watching Sabaody Arc. she saw how I cried so much. after while, my brother suggested to my older sister to watch Luffy's childhood. at first she hesitated, but my older brother continued on watching it. I was watching both of them, till my older sister sat together with my older brother and enjoyed it. I was confronting that time, because I wanted to continue on watching it. but my Older sister loved the story of Luffy, Ace, and Sabo after that, my older sister also reverted(nah, joking) I mean, she become an OP number 1 fan, lol. so I was forced to watch it, without continuing on where luffy was sent to Hancock's place. how painful it is for me, because before watching Ace's death, I first was forced to watch it's childhood. so I cried so much when I continued it, to where Luffy wanted to save Ace. After that, I didn't have the courage to watch again, plus, Luffy suffered so much. after days of weeping, I decided to watch it again. then, I watched how Luffy mourned for Ace's death. and I couldn't take it anymore... I was holding my tears while watching. after then, Jinbei comforted Luffy and told him to count what's still remaining, not that what has been lost. I was so emotional, laying beside me was a tissue. after then, I got happy when they reunited. but still, I can't forget how I struggled when Ace died. Oda is the first person that had broke my heart, huhu. but I still love Oda sensei. lol.

I personally love the writing for one piece but I wish ace never died. They were so close to saving him then he just dies, like that whole ass arc was for nothing WB dieing was good writing tho cuz after he died it was like Gol D Rogers era is like over now a new era began with new pirates .
It's what pushed Luffy past his limits. That was the first time he truly lost (Not counting Kuma, that was a win). What better way to motivate you than showing you the gap in power and how your weakness got you.
