Showing Raducanu as the best player in US Open proves how irrelevant this list is...To make the story short; the best one who won most titles, end of story! The rest is just trying to camuflate the reality...
You should have introduced a minimum of matches to count (Raducana in US Open with some 10 matches being No 1 😂). The most telling fact of this statistic is that Steffi Graf is in the Top 5 of all 4 Grand Slams as the only tennis player of the modern era. Chapeau!
Iga has only played it 4 times, that's why her record is so high, Chris played it 16 times, but her record is MUCH more impressive, she WON it SEVEN times and only lost before the Semis ONCE in her ENTIRE career!
This list is a joke. Player who won 73 games of 82 will have lower percentage than the one who once won all 11 games of 11. Comparison of one title of US Open tournament winner Emma Raducanu vs five titles winner Steffi Graf is ridiculous . We don't know how many of 82 games in US Open Emma Raducanu could win in order to make this comparison valid.
@@senorgato70 Imagine that your boss pays more to newcomer than to brilliant specialist like you work on the same position for 5 years. Would you consider it a fair deal ?
Emma ahead of Steffi in us open lol😂😂. There should be a certain benchmark in total matches played (for me atleast 20 matches). Emma only played 11 us open matches & Rybikina also the same in Wimbledon. So they shouldn't be in the list. Now according to WTA stats wiki page Graf winning % in US open is higher than Austin if you eliminate her 1 qualifying matches which she lost.
@@ChristianD-u2n no, there should a certain benchmark for total match played. Graf played 82 US open match vs Emma only 11. Could Emma have same winning % if she played 82 matches?? No. Tbh she wouldn't play 82 matches in us open.😂😂
Really Steffi Graf stand out as she is the only player with at least 88% winning rate in all 4 slams with (surprisingly) Evert come close with at least 86% winning rate in all slams. Graf is the only player to win quadruple slam, golden slam in 1988 in all 3 surface. Untill 1977 past players gets benefit of playing only on two surface (clay & grass) in slams but not Steffi. Steffi had the least deviation among men & female in terms of all surface domination. It's difficult to tell her weakest surface. She is truly the GOAT.
Evert not so surprisinly may I add. She has won the most French Open titles amongst females (7!). She has won the most US Open titles amongst females ( 6!)(Serena also has 6. She's been to 10 Wimbledon Finals (winning 3) and reached the Finals of all 6 Australian Open (winning 2) she entered. She's played the most Grand Slam titles amongst females ( 34!); reached 52 semi finales out of 56 Grand Slam events! She has the longest winning streak on any surface, male or female, winning a staggering 125 matches on clay over the course of 6 years! She's won at least one Grand Slam per year 13 years in a row. Another record amongst male or female stats. She has won 90 % of all her matches played) another record. Not to mention the many Grand Slam events she didn't enter because of her loyalty to World Team tennis back in the 70s. So the stats speak for themselves; Evert, not so surprisingly, was one of, if not, the most consistent tennis player of all time.
@@MrBjorn6 but Graf played more A.O & F.O matches than Martina. So no excuse. As far as Serena is concerned even if she happened to be retired at the age of 30 or even 35 (in 2015) she still would be behind Steffi in winning % in all slams. Don't forget Martina was literally struggled in 70's as she was fat & chubby girl while Serena had so many ups & downs, barren patches when she hardly won anything but Steffi was so consistent & dominance from early age till injury taking her toll in 1997.
I don't agree with the comments that looking at percentage wins is irrelevant, but clearly Raducanu's case is a little silly. But taking a player like Kim Clijsters fx. who only one the AO 1 time was anyway very high up there with her SF's and F's, so i think this is also an important measure of success in an tournament.
Interesting view. Not sure why but I noticed how consistent Hana Mandlikova and Gabriela Sabatini were. They tied in FO and AO percentages and were virtually tied at the USO. Gaby was ahead at Wimbledon by 5%, surprising considering Hana's serve and volley game. The rest of the percentages fell where I thought they would. I do agree with others that Radacanu's percentage is skewed and some of the other percentages of still-active players could drastically change by the time they slow down or retire.

Infact Iga was lucky to win that final as Sabalenka was on match point. Iga hardly passed SF outside of French open since 2023. So stop comparing Iga with Steffi, Martina Navratilova, Evert & Serena. She is nowhere near them & might never will be.
I wish this list took into account how many matches each player has won at the torunament, and maybe add a criteria of minimum number of matches played toe exclude outliers like Emma Raducanu. Otherwise the list greatly disadvantages players with longer careers.
