Thank for such an informative video. I refer back to this every time I sew a new pattern ❤

I saw you show us the clothes you had made in the past two years. Now I love seeing them on your various videos. They look great on you.

I know I'm late to this and you might not see my comment, but I'm confused. I don't understand the part about closing the gaping armhole, and then opening it up again to accommodate the extra volume. Wouldn't that create the gap in the armhole, and also the neckline again.

I simply started adding darts to knit items as well. I have quite a stark difference between bust circumference and shoulder/waist width, so I usually don't want to add volume to other parts of the pattern to eliminate the dart. I find adding darts achieves the best results and with strategic placement (so it sits right on the lower half of the bust) you don't even notice it. Of course instead of darts I could also do gathers or princess seams. But for simple close fitting tops I like the darts and I don't think they pose a problem with knit fabrics at all.

This is perfect timing as I'm contemplating making t-shirts and tank tops and need an FBA. Thank you.

Great video. Does this method work on woven fabrics with dolman sleeves and no bust darts? Do you have a video that addresses this type garment?

Yes, you can use this method on woven fabrics and any style. You will have to experiment with the amounts of the easing because your fabric will limit you to some degree.
