Hardcovers feel too bulky and stiff, making it hard to get comfortable while reading. With paperbacks, it’s easier to hold the book, bend it slightly, and really get into the story. Plus, they have a charm that just feels more intimate and well-loved. What do you think?

Here are some of my favourites- She and Her Cat by Makoto Shinkai and Naruki Nagakawa, Ms Ice Sandwich by Mieko Kawakami, Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi and The Cat Who Saved Books by Sōsuke Natsukawa. I didn't like Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa that much but I would still recommend it. You can also try and read The Penguin Collection of Japanese Short Stories.
