I was headhunted to appear on the show. I am a magician. I showed them magic, and a few days before the broadcast they insisted I switch to ventriloquism. Foolishly I agreed, and they crucified me on the live show. Had I done the magic they had seen initially, I would have done far better. But I realized too late I was one of the sacrificial lambs brought on to be made look bad. It is a very manipulative program.

This is Simon's show we are talking about. It's 100% fixed. Because if you watch any show he has been on. If someone cries or has some random sad backstory they are going through. Even other "TALENT" shows do the exact same thing. People with very little talent will win, while others with amazing talent will magically lose do to "Voting". It's all about the $$$ the worst the artist the more they are dependent on you the less chances of them trying to break away.

Too true. It kind of beats what it's really all about - and that's probably why I prefer it when it first started where there wasn't all this pre-hand first and second auditions and interviews etc etc.

I can relate to this, I auditioned for the first X Factor up at Wembley, likewise having been called thru after hours of waiting, i sat in a shorter queue, about 10 ppl before me , none came out with a next stage slip. I was finally called, to sing a verse & chorus to some production bod who didnt even look up from her desk. Obviously given a NO, I ran out shouting yes yes yes. Another of the crew came over congratulating me saying you got thru. No I said I didn't but Im glad cos my boss wouldn't give me anymore time off. Then i returned to the main foyer and pretended to be totally distraught, a camera team headed for me, and i just burst out laughing and said get the fk out of here. TBH I wasn't exactly what they wanted and I wasn't Shit enough to go on and exploit.

My friend auditioned for American Idol once but it was like this, she went in front of a different crew and was told she has work to do and turned down before she even got to see the famous judges. I had an idea that they did this but it's interesting to see an actual video of the process. It is sad though that they pick specific horrible acts to entertain an audience, those people have to be absolutely heart broken after that.

This was truly remarkable... the amount of effort and planning just to prove a point! (and prove it, to an extend, you did!) It is certainly intriguing and a bit of an eye-opener, but in all fairness there are a number of acts on AGT/BGT with people who actually have incredibly talent.

I think it's actually quite a good act and he deserves the 4 yes because he wasted a lot of time on an act that is actually a prank.
