    Seeing this makes me very sad! CFK was my very first duty station in the Army, C 440th
    signal. I was there in 91 and in 94. At the very begining of this video that open gate
    was the Motor pool I worked in every day! That's were we parked our Hummvees and
    equipment, your still shot called it "just another parking lot" but it was Much more than that.
    We did our PT there, held Formations there. I spent a lot of days in that Motor Pool.
    Thank you so much for postig this. Makes me cry!

    That is crazy I was stationed at CFK for a couple years, got out in 2002 and the place was still alive. Went back a couple times, last time in Dec. 2010 and there were still gate guards there. I remember walking through the shortcut in the woods at night in total darkness and there were wild boars running around me. Thanks for posting this. Now I want a Doner from Omer's Doners...

    There was quite a bit of activity at the Lincoln Village, so we didn't dare to enter... But I'll hopefully be able to have another look in summer.

      Kevin I was with what was called N.E.V.D (Northern Europe Veterinary Detachment) Which became N.E.U.D.V.C Northern Europe District Veterinary Command when it moved from Griesheim at the Statrs and Stripes Kasern to K-Town. I worked at the Veterinary Clinic head quarters in Griesheim and inspected CFK,Lincoln Village, Kelley Barracks, Babenhausin, the DAIGER and a couple other little areas around there. I lived in the barracks accross from the MP barracks and right next to in processing. Some great memories here.

      Cool it's always nice to go to different places instead of staying on base lol , I lived a crossed from BN and above the MP's till i got back from my deployment then I was next to the theater. I do miss the place , had some great memory's and meat some great people and also had my first bad 1 sgt there till he got fired lol. I wanna go back to Germany some time with the wife. I think Germany was a great place to make a lot of memory's and meat a lot of great people.

    I was there from 1972 to 1974. I arrived a month or two before the 93rd Sig Bn became the 440th Sig Bn. I was an 05C20 working in the old TADDS compound on the perimeter. I was in Company B. My first seargent, 1SG Harold Hamric was the finest soldier I met in my time in Europe. Job well done, top!

    You're welcome! Since the barracks will be converted to private housing soon it's one of the best guarded closed military bases in Germany.
    And since I live in Japan I share your urge for Döner! Nothing like a fresh one from a good place...

    Is "The House of Blues still open and what of the Doner Stand outside? Do you know of any German Official willing to allow a tour of CFK?

    • @AbandonedKansaiVideo
      @AbandonedKansaiVideo  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Bo Hannon I'm pretty sure the House of Blues is closed and the Döner stand is gone. (I might confuse it with another building though...) As for tours... last time I went there security drove up to me within minutes, even trying to prevent me from taking photos while on public ground - I think it's pretty much impossible to get onto the premises with permission unless you claim to be a potential investor.
