  • Tearing out concrete and brush with the Takeuchi TB153fr excavator to build a new pad.I had a small pad and a few small trees to tear out and haul off. This site is for another new construction home, once the concrete and brush are removed I'll haul in some fill dirt and build another house pad. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #TakeuchiTB153fr

    nice job and video I am removing a small garage and pad for a new larger building. I hope my JD 35 works as well as your Takeuchi does, never removed concrete before

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Stegall it should do fine, you just need to start at a corner or a crack and start popping it up a piece at a time. Just don’t bang on the concrete with the teeth very hard on the pins and bushings. My machine also weighs a little over 12,000lbs I’m not sure what yours weighs but it should work fine

    Very Nice video! Left a big like! Hopefully I can do that kind of work soon! As I'm 15 yrs old and am very interested in construction equipment. I stop at any jobsite that's nearbye where I live and go watch the machines work! It's funny how I'm so interested in these machines but yet I've never sat or operated any of them. As in excavators, skid steers, bulldozers. I do have some forklift experience with helping my dad at work. But it gets boring after a while. Ok well
    see ya at your next video! :)

      Legendary Explorer that’s awesome man! I was and am still the same way, I love watching and running equipment. Have been fascinated by it since I was 6. I bet you will have no problem getting into the field. And running the forklift is great experience, teaches you to watch your surroundings and it’s great hand eye coordination which you need on every machine! Have any questions feel free to hit me up. Thanks for watching

    Hey man, tell the builder that the power company has a power line hanging directly through the middle of the lot. It gets a bit hard to put a roof on a house with that in the way going to the neighbors place. Had to deal with it once and it added 3 months to the project because the builder did not notice until the floor was being framed.
    Did your town get ravaged by a tornado at some point? You seem to do a bunch of work on lots that seem to have previously had homes on them already what with the rubble and concrete pads you keep digging up and tearing out.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ohh Paul they are suppose to be coming Monday to set a new pole and move the power. Yes most of the houses I have worked on are all on old lots from the tornado. Also makes it difficult to tell which utilities are good because they just ran new ones. Most of these homes are in the area around the old St. John Hospital that was destroyed. Thanks for watching

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dave Guffey I think this lot was $13,000 it’s right around a .25 of an acre. Yes they are all for the same builder, he’s buying lots like crazy. Thanks again

  • @OldBoldGuy
    @OldBoldGuy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Interesting, doesn't look like you take the concrete to be recycled!
    Do you have to over-excavate the pad before installing fill?
    One I'm doing right now, digging down 4' before adding 4' of fill for the pad!

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bold Guy the concrete from this job I just took to my parents where I will push it off the hill. There was a mobile crusher set up not far from this job but they have moved it and not taking concrete right now. No we don’t have to undercut, it’s kinda crazy we haul in fill and level it off then dig the footings 30” deep to virgin ground. All these houses are on slabs, I guess it works it seems a little strange to me.

    • @OldBoldGuy
      @OldBoldGuy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's why I was curious, we normally gut out at least 2' and re compact for fill preparation or if no fill, one foot below bottom of footing depth!
      Mainly to prevent differential settlement, giving the pad a uniform consistency!

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bold Guy we should really do that here but most of the builders don’t want to pay for that. They will in 10 years 🤣

    • @OldBoldGuy
      @OldBoldGuy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They didn't want that here either, till houses started settling and cracking and the lawsuits started flying!!!
      Started about 30 yrs ago, now it's standard procedure:)
      Of course the house pad I'm doing right now, I bid for $120,000, not including septic or utilities,just house pad and driveway:)

      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do the same type of work but have been renting a skid and use my friends exavator looking to grow witch is a better pice to buy first? Skid or mini?

    • @georgeodbert569
      @georgeodbert569 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Iam leaning tward a mini as i feel like more people need diging everyone has a bucket tractor

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      George Odbert it really just depends on what you do more or which one you are renting more. If you have more grading type work definitely go for the skid steer first and vice versa. I would definitely get the work lined up first then look into buying one. Much better than buying a machine and hoping the work comes. Either machine can be comparable in price Felton what you are looking at.

    • @georgeodbert569
      @georgeodbert569 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have customers for my home improvment biz so it will be a add on as well as my own needs with fire wood and i also scrap steel and cars iam thinking mini with a thumb it will be a cash deal so not working it every week wont be as big of a problem

    • @eliteearthworksllc
