  • ERP failures occur for many of the same reasons - not due to coincidence or things outside of your control. There are a handful of key things you can do to avoid ERP failure. This video covers the strategies and tactics every organization should be deploying as part of their digital transformation and ERP implementation risk mitigation frameworks.
The video also takes a deep-dive look into the risk mitigation frameworks we use to help clients manage the risks of ERP implementations. This framework has been developed and stress-tested over years of recovering failed ERP implementations and examining ERP failures as part of our ERP expert witness practice.
Finally, the online ERP implementation risk assessment tool below is something you can use to determine the risk level of your digital transformation. It also provides recommendations on how to mitigate your ERP implementation risks and get your project back on track.

This was a mini masterclass. Thank you. Slogging through Sage platforms for guidance as a small business in a stalemate, I needed this. Thank you.

Great work Eric... As a small business expert, I'd say the list for a smaller business the list is a bit different. The biggest reason I see for failure over th years, is that a lack of expectation alignment. Defining what "success" means, is absolutely key. Second is a commitment by clients to invest their time to a schedule. Can't have a go-live timeline if you're not willing to commit time to make it happen. It's not just the implementation team that plays a role, it's a 2 way street. This has to be nailed down during the implementation agreement.

Many thanks for this video Eric. This is a real world check list that I use i my ERP projects. But as you know it is not always easy to implement them. The business driven aspect is a tricky part since a project mgr often takes over a project after the technology has been selected.
The other tricky part is the integration specially with those system that are under development or with the legacy system that you can't find either right documentation o people who knows them.
    All the best!

i like your advice " you are in charge of your transformation" because this kind of process is always under heavy pressure from other parties to take the lead from your hands under different allegations most of which is technical

As per my experience Business driven projects generally end up with cost escalations. There has to be a balance between technology and business drivers.

Yes, managing expectation around time, scope, budget are key , need a steely PM at times to say NO to client.
