3rd Strike is the more popular version but I liked the aesthetic of 2nd Impact more. It was also before Capcom decided to hate Sean for honestly shitty reasons.
They don't hate Sean! Sean got nerfed into oblivion on SF3 Third Strike because of Lore, nothing more. They nerfed him that hard because he was Ken Masters's pupil. Sean was more stronger than Ryu and Ken on SF3 New Generation and 2nd Impact in gameplay wise, and that for them was way to much so he got nerfed hard on Third Strike because of Lore reasons
@@neoyaku SF4 and SF5 are before SF3 events, and SF6 is the only game that is after the events of SF3. In story makes all sense why he didn't appear yet but Sean indeed will appear in SF6 100%
Still my favorite version of SF3, I know everyone goes crazy for Third Strike but man I absolutely love the presentation, colors, stages, music, and aesthetic of 2nd Impact. One of my favorite SF games.
I always loved the Dreamcast port of 2nd impact. It came with the original game also. All 3 releases of the game are very different. Very cool to see. Anyone who prefers a specific version of the game is well warranted
2nd Impact is my favorite out of the 3, it just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling. It just feels more fun to play imo. And that Player Select tune sounds oh so good
I’m not sure if this art style would count as anime or not. But whatever it is, it’s one of the main reasons that got me into art. There’s something about the exaggerated silhouettes, yet some sense of realism and anatomy that just looks so good. I kinda think this era of Capcom art is the best, especially the marvel vs.Capcom stuff.
Having neither the New York stage from New Generation or the Sao Paulo theme from Second Impact in Third Strike made me for sure understand that Hyper SF2 kinda thing you mentioned. In terms of specific rival fights, Guy's from SF4 always had me so hype with his theme coming in after his talk with Rose.
2nd impact did make some improvements to SF3, but it would be 3rd Strike to make it survive and become legendary. 11:40 Matt: “Oh yeah... What!” Alex: “I don’t lose!”
Yeah so for example Yun's final boss is Yang (and vice-versa). Both fight Gill before their final boss. Ken is usually the one you fight before Gill but it's not a rule. Akuma and Shin Akuma are secret final bosses.
Ibuki used to be a fast, combo ready character that rivaled the likes of Chun-Li and was devastating in 2nd Impact and Third Strike. What they did to her in Street Fighter 5 was almost unforgivable and an insult. She's the only character that has to stop and recharge/restock her projectiles now? She's kicking timer based bombs and Kite Riding? My fear is that if she comes back in Street Fighter 6 they are going to dumb her down further where she'll be making TikTok videos of herself in the middle of matches 😒
i could have sworn there was a secret Dremcast menu to play new gen and dbl impact to play as any toon as a option, or 3rd strike had a secret menu too. i cant remember what you could do aside from auto parry.
Hi, the Amiga guy again. I always thought Shadow Fighter's Yarado was a rip-off of Urien, but Shadow Fighter was first? I guess "guy in a high-cut loincloth" isn't exactly novel.
2nd Impact might not be as tight or solid as 3rd Strike, yet is still a good fighter all things considered, is kinda like Night Warriors (the 2nd update of Darkstalkers), where the new version is a major update in terms of gameplay and visual presentation but still isn't THERE yet, like good but not perfect, the only difference is that Darkstalkers was a good game from the get go, but SF3 New Generation...errr...wasn't, at all.
I liked this way better than Third Strike. Did not like the announcer and change of voices and bland backgrounds. It felt like Third Strike tried so hard to be cool or something.
Maybe in an update if they expanded the Game Center and allowed any games one got in the Premium Pass to be played in the Capcom Arcade Gallery as well since I think all 15 of those games are on those Arcade collections as well.
Not only do I prefer the backgrounds in 2nd Impact, I also prefer the post fight portraits.
Lol Alex with the Michael Jackson voice "You can't escape, Hee Hee" lol
They used to have a 2nd impact cabinet at a local laundromat. Beautiful memories.
Lucky 😢 I had a tekken 3 cabinet at my laundromat but I love 2nd Impact so much, I wish I could play the arcade cabinet version
3rd Strike is the more popular version but I liked the aesthetic of 2nd Impact more.
It was also before Capcom decided to hate Sean for honestly shitty reasons.
What were those reasons? I heard he used to be quite decent before 3rd Strike
They don't hate Sean! Sean got nerfed into oblivion on SF3 Third Strike because of Lore, nothing more.

@@VitorCosta40definitely something more. They shit on Sean. Here we are in 2024 and no Sean, the only Shoto to not make a return.

@@VitorCosta40 I think we all know why. I am not expecting to see Sean in SF6.
I actually have more nostalgia for 2nd impact than I do third strike! I remember owning this on dreamcast as a kid.

Ibuki & Dudley's lose portraits break my heart
2nd impact was the only one I played in the Arcades in the early 2000s.
Good memories.

The music in this game is super underrated
One of the most praised soundtracks from the SF series... for me it's ten times better than SF6's cheesy songs.
All three SF3 games had such good music, stages and presentation
I'd buy into a version of SF3 that combines all three versions but Capcom is too busy trying to sell us a statue of Chun-Li doing squats for $600.
the people who directly work on the games, have nothing to do with companies who manufacture merch.
Trying? They've got me buy the balls I've bought 2 now
They're not trying, they're succeeding
@@flophouseplays This is true, I can't fault the devs for third-party merch.
My beef is with management lol
How is this figure $600? It looks like baby's first Zbrush sculpt.

Matt: “Oh yeah... What!”
Alex: “I don’t lose!”
you know what they say...
If it was going to have any Impact, all the matches would be in a six sided ring.
Until Hogan and Bischoff come in and brilliantly change it to a regular four sided ring.
Speaking of Darkstalkers, "Darkstalkers are not dead" is 13 years old now. (13 & 1/2 ish)
Lucky 13!
The widescreen mode for this game in the recent Street Fighter collection is gorgeous
Necros stage reminds me of something from Snowpiercer

I don't know why, but I learned how to perfect parry well with 2nd impact in which makes it my favorite version of SF3.
I have this game on PS4 Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection
Street Fighter III: Second Impact. The game where Sean was a badass. Until 3rd Strike came along. Sean for Street Fighter 6!
2nd Impact is now available on PSPlus
i always likes scenery in beat em up games there just done so well
So much content this weekend.
5:00 this is the first time I've noticed the man in the vehicle. Really contrasting what Matt is saying lol
The old guy in the background of the Elena fight looks like Tung Fu Rue.
i could have sworn there was a secret Dremcast menu to play new gen and dbl impact to play as any toon as a option, or 3rd strike had a secret menu too. i cant remember what you could do aside from auto parry.
Urgh... That ibuki defeat screen in the thumbnail... Still can't take it out of my brain. GG Matt! Baited perfectly.😂
Damn you Matt McMuscles!, I played for the first time Final Fight Revenge,it's so bad but i cannot stop playing!,keep up the great work!
The ultimate SFIII game would have the character select screen of New Gen, the music of 2nd Impact and the gameplay of 3rd Strike.
It should have every stage from the trilogy selectable too. New Gen had amazing stages(Elena’s, Dudley’s, Gill’s, etc) imo
Yea, a Hyper Street Fighter III would be cool.
He said thorgi, my life's complete ❤❤❤
Sean for SF6!!!!
I kinda hope Ibuki comes back in SF6 personally.
4:29 são pauRo lol
Japonês clássico. Também tem o "Futbol" na placa do fundo.
Im a big 3s head, but 2nd impacts presentation is better I think

Second Strike does hit awfully different all these years later
Still not great as 3rd Impact 😁

I need Capcom to hurry up and add these 3RD STRIKE games to the SF6 BATTLE HUB. Like...ASAP.

Nah! 3rd strike is the absolute goat in the series!
Daily reminder best 3d fighting game for ps1 Zero divide :D.
