I'm glad you left the bolter as is. In my imagination, it's hanging by a sling and the space marine has temporarily slung his weapon to reach for a krak grenade.
I’m still pretty mad that he died. Tony Todd and Lance Reddick too; both died way too soon. But Tony was almost 70 so he was fairly close to the average expiration date of an American male, but I sure as crap don’t have to be happy about it! Lance was a Baltimore man so he belonged to we Marylanders! He was our guy, dang it! At least we still have the great John Astin, another awesome actor born in Baltimore and who did teach acting classes at Johns Hopkins University until he retired in 2021. Unfortunately John is 94 years old so it’s not like we’re gonna get to keep him around for another decade or two, but we can hope and pray that he stays with us a bit longer! But I digress. We miss you, Meatloaf, Tony Todd, and Lance Reddick. May you all rest in peace and may you never be forgotten!
NASA has a technical bulletin advising using part in a ziploc with IPA in an ultrasonic cleaner as a safe method. They came up with this over 40 years ago.
Space Marines are cool. I would love to build some Templars at some point since they're the most "medieval" like of them all. But I have a softer spot for Guardsmen. Being simple humans in a war of giants and winning is more satisfying in my view. Great paintjob on this fella!
Pity the old chair was not smaller, it would be great if someone picked it up for an eBay Mini-chair Rescue channel.... Nice little rescue, the poor fellow needed some love, and his classic scheme is most fitting. He's a proper space marine, even though he's not too sure which end of his bolter to point at the enemies of the Emperor.
Space Marines are cool, the same way Superman is cool. Or maybe Batman. You know exactly what you're going to get. Sure, different chapters have different flavours, but the chapter is what it is on the box.
That's a great explanation! I like campy, it's when someone decides they are dead serious all of the sudden that it gets weird for me, like, what happened to the fun?
I still do that lol, though in recent years I have become quite fond of painting faces. My Stormcast army is almost completely helmeted for this reason though, I can get those on the table super quick without faces :)
I love these videos. I also respect the fact you like preserving the essence of the original (tho maybe this time I would've liked the gun to make more sense lol)
I’m a simple man - I see a new eBay Miniatures Rescue video and I click play! Casey, c’mon - Space Marines are ALWAYS awesome! It does kinda get under my skin that the AoS sculps are leagues above the 40K ones; I guess that’s because they’re trying to get more people to play AoS? Every time I put together an awesome AoS mini (just finished putting our favorite Ratboi Vizzik Skour together a little bit ago) I can’t help but to think how much I wish they would make the 40K and HH minis as awesome as the AoS ones. I’m pretty sure that 40K is their best seller and their main money maker, so why are so many 40K sculps boring when compared to the AoS ones? Shoot, even the lowly Clanrats that came in the Skaventide box are far more detailed than many 40K and HH minis are! As always my friend I love your videos and I’m always happy to see a new one pop up!
Space Marines are cool because I think they're cool! And I'm cool because my mom said I'm cool! Excelsior! All kidding aside, nice cleanup on the Ultramarine doing his Michelin Man/Death Guard impersonation. Glad you kept the old aesthetic as a way to pay homage to the heritage of this piece.
This looks like a plastic marine from the Warriors of the Imperium box. They were slightly more poseable than the marines from the 2nd edition Starter box. The arms are set up for boltgun in left hand and dagger in the right. The chest and head were a separate piece from the legs allowing for some posing options. Nice results.
I painted my first mini in the late 80s and I've still never painted a space marine but I've watched a lot of them get painted on TH-cam 😂. I got into the hobby through D&D and when I restarted about 5 years ago I added in 3d printing. GW eventually managed to snag my wallet, but through AoS, not 40k.
Dude looked so good all of the sudden I almost stopped the video! I put him on the shelf and had a real serious think about it, it was a tough decision, but at least there is video to remember him.
I'll be the first to admit, I got into Warhammer because of Space Marine 1 & 2. I've started collecting a bunch of JoyToy figures and I think the Space Marines are badass! I grew up a fan of Halo and Star Wars so I'm a sucker for colorful super soldiers.
A chair like that is well out of my budget! I just got a couple of good little office chairs off eBay and I'm set for now. The thumbnail made me think of that meme where you hear guys screaming in horror at botched Space Marine faces!
I have so many space marines that look just like this. I need to find some kind of fancy jar and try again, that might make more sense. The one I used in this was a cleaned bouillon jar, not very fancy lol.
You look through the comments for your favorite commenter, you see he's upset. But why? You look at his profile picture and are hit with guilt. The Riptide. The best model in all of Warhammer 40K you then remember that model you have... The Riptide. A massacre. You have to save him. You decide the next video has to be about saving the Riptide.
Are they cool? I guess all in the execution. Theyre badass in a legit storytelling sense some of the time. Other times theyre so over the top it gets campy.
Not at all, it’s just been a thing for a long time. They get the most models, always in starter boxes, wether you like them or not you just end up with them. Some people really don’t like them though lol. It’s a weird hobby lol.
Are Space Marines cool? I was familiar with Fallout and Starcraft many years prior to encountering 40K, so my feelings for Space Marines is affected mostly by their resemblance to Terran Marines and the Brotherhood of Steel. They also remind me a lot of the Scopedogs in VOTOMS. Overall, I like the models themselves much more than the lore behind them in 40K. So as a model I quite like this guy you rescued, in all his classic galore.
Starcraft was big for me, I only ever played Terran back in the day. I've heard, and I have no idea if its true, but Starcraft was supposed to be a licensed 40k game and ended up not working out somehow, so it's very similar to Space Marines, Eldar, and Tyranids. That might be just a rumor, but it's pretty close, and those space marines were always so cool to me.
Hm, I can only imagine what was going on in the guy's mind... He could have cut off the stock and grip, and then glued it onto one hand. It wouldn't have been a perfect pose, but it would have been noticeably better than that positioning.
That's why it seemed to me like a quick I need a guy right now kind of model. Like something happened to one and he needed the replacement asap...though I don't know how or why that would happen, it's funny to think about.
_Ahh,_ True-Scale 5'2" Astartes of the Tiny Kings Chapter. I think might have painted him to represent the Lollipop Guild. The Lollipop Guild. The Lollipop Guild. _"And in the name of the Lollipop Guild I suffer not the heretic to live."_
Are Space Marines cool? Yes. Do they deserve the hype? Yes. Does Games Workshop need to spend as much time on other factions as they do Space Marines? Yes.
hmm, I'm not sure, it sounds ok on my system, and nothing is different from my other videos, could be the tracks I used are just more compressed than other ones from other videos.
Are culturally varied 8ft bio-engineered fearless demigod super-warriors clad in ceramite power armour that wield ancient, sacred and devastating weapons with centuries of battle experience, unyielding in the face of impossible odds as they battle unspeakable horrors on a daily basis, steeped in equal parts mythology and advanced yet forgotten technology... cool? Hmmmm... Tough to say... -_-
Imperium are the good guys. That’s it. “Shades of grey” neckbeards can disagree all they want. And space marines are cool, regardless of the era of the hobby.
could have chopped the hands off and flipped the bolter direction. if the bolter got wrecked surely you've got some left over somewhere. same for hands... i'd probably just make some out of green-stuff or cut them out of some spare sprue and carve them then glue them on, cos analysing them space marine hands, they're literally a box, with 6 little grooves impressed onto it, plus the thumb. but yeh if the bolter, being taken off the chest, damaged the chest, you could probably just use the new weapon to cover that damage.
Are space marines cool? Who cares? If you feel they are, they are. If you don't, they aren't. If you seek external acknowledgement, then it might matter. Otherwise just nerd on full steam
By and large, I'm ambivalent toward space marines. I find their battleline models overly simple and boring. I'm not raggin ln people's paintjobs either, just the amount of interesting details on the models.
I love you Casey, but I feel like you might have phoned this one in a bit. I don't expect every video to be earth shattering, but come on, admit it, this one was an "easy" week LOL.

Seeing a Space Marine in a jar as the thumbnail made me realise that the internet has ruined, corrupted and destroyed me, permanently.
Great video!
Ewwwwww EWWWWWWW
it truly has ruined the novelty of small things in jars, which is a shame, cause this guy looked great in there and on a shelf. oh well....
I'm glad it wasn't just me
Be strong Clarence, be strong for the Emperor
I read the title as "This Space Marine Was Meatloaf" and immediately thought "RIP, Meatloaf; gone too soon"
Definitely gone too soon.
You took the words right out of my mouth... cough cough. Yeah, but seriously, though.
Eh, I was more saddened about Jim Steinman myself, given he wrote all of his songs and a lot of other great times!
I’m still pretty mad that he died. Tony Todd and Lance Reddick too; both died way too soon. Excellent job restoring that chapter ancient to his former glory.
Thanks for giving me somwthing watch over breakfast.
Always get excited for another mini rescue video!

Space Marines are campy, and campy stuff can be amazingly cool and the most embarrassing thing imaginable.
That's a great explanation! I like campy, it's when someone decides they are dead serious all of the sudden that it gets weird for me, like, what happened to the fun?
I started with Space Marines way back in Rogue Trader, so I didn't have to paint faces as much. 🤣
I still do that lol, though in recent years I have become quite fond of painting faces. My Stormcast army is almost completely helmeted for this reason though, I can get those on the table super quick without faces :)
good job on cleaning and painting, congratulations👌👍
This model is a truly bizarre mashup of pieces
For real!
Great job. Space Marines are iconic. The smurf are GWs poster boys and they get a lot of stick because of it. Love what you did.
I love these videos.
I also respect the fact you like preserving the essence of the original (tho maybe this time I would've liked the gun to make more sense lol)

15 mins in IPA = Humungus Chungus and I love him.

Nice! Those Joytoy figures are so nice too. The Armor is by far my favorite part of space marines, really cool and can be almost any color.
A chair like that is well out of my budget! I just got a couple of good little office chairs off eBay and I'm set for now. The thumbnail made me think of that meme where you hear guys screaming in horror at botched Space Marine faces!
Grinned at the goblin green base!
Id say they are more majestic and stoic like a mideval knight it they speak to something in us
That makes sense
its one of those reasons why I like metal models.
cos I can use acetone that would melt a plastic model, but it explodes the paint from metal.
I do keep a jar of acetone for my metal minis, it is so much easier to deal with lol.
I'd love it if you kept one really junked up mini as is for laughs
I have so many space marines that look just like this. I need to find some kind of fancy jar and try again, that might make more sense. The one I used in this was a cleaned bouillon jar, not very fancy lol.
didn't drill the gunbarrel, the mini is absolutely ruined
agreed, ruined!
Eh, their bolter's just jammed with dirt.
Who else thinks Jacob should put an entry in for a golden demon award??

lol, well you might be disappointed, but at least there was progress made not too long ago. We'll get there :)
@@eBayMiniatureRescues We did almost get there.
Are they cool? I guess all in the execution.
Theyre badass in a legit storytelling sense some of the time.

Im new to warhammer 40k community. Am I supposed to dislike space marines? Because I find them cool af

@@eBayMiniatureRescuesyeah it’s true - it’s the exact reason they resemble Nids and Marines. Always thought of the Protos as more Tau though
I love the iso alcohol trick! Will this work for removing primer as well? Any tips would help me greatly
It definitely takes up primer, the sonic cleaner does most of the work to get that iso in and under every layer of paint.
Space marines are cool to kill. So I play Orks.

Yes.
*mic drop*
perfect :)
missing the decal!! ;(
which one? check the reveal again, they pop up after about halfway through :) for reasons I will be going into soon...but not yet, in another video.
Are Space Marines cool? Yes.
Do they deserve the hype? Yes.
Does Games Workshop need to spend as much time on other factions as they do Space Marines? Yes.
That background music, why does it make me think of a blonde on a sofa?
lol, you tell me!

78 views in 4 minutes, bro is improving every video, great job:)
Things are lookin up lol!
at 8:00 are those Trench Crusade minis
lol, yes, nice catch, they are so tiny on the desk there.
I find the space marines great for spectacular paint jobs but boring as a subject compared with orks and other aliens.
