Sir Nils Olav is a male king penguin who holds the rank of Major General of the Norwegian Royal Guards. Sir Nils resides at Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland, UK, where he was bestowed the rank in 2023 - a promotion from his previous rank of Brigaider held since 2016. In 2008, he was also granted a knighthood by King Harald V of Norway.
