About 20 years ago I got to meet Richard and Fred Young at their home in Kentucky. Funny, my name is Ed Young but weren't related. We had family that lived nearby in Kentucky. Fred asked me to play his kit and I froze, star struck, just plain nerves. Always a huge regret in my life cause I can play but nothing like him... I blew it. They were the kindest people we ever met. I always remember that day.
I’m not very familiar with this band but I just watched a video of them playing in Rochester New York a few years back and it blew my socks off, the drummer is off the chart very entertaining.
We sure appreciate you all spending a day with us at the old practice house in 2012. Our mom Evelyn was a friend of Gwen and our dad George passed also in 2018 , but my kids and me have bragged about you all ever since! Thanks for keeping it going!! It sounds awesome!!
I'd say some of the strongest material and playing yet. Richard sings with reckless abandon. And the guitar playing between he and Greg is top notch. No disrespect at all to Fred and Doug. Love this album. My faith is restored that there is still good southern fried rock n' blues to be had.
One of the greatest bands on earth! What a perfect blend of country and rock. Truly an American sound! I'm so glad they are still making music. We need great music these days.
Brings back a lot of memories of my time working in Kentucky back in the 80s. I was in Glasgow over several years and was there in 1988 when Itchy Brother did a reunion at Picasso's in Bowling Green. I even hung out at the Backstage Music Company where Fred and Richard would come in and hang out from time to time. Great memories and a great time in my life.
Doug Phelps...the man I swore when I was nine years old I was going to marry one day. Clearly, he has yet to magically appear at my front door and whisk me away to happily ever after like he was supposed to ;)
My favorite band right now....and seeing them talk about Alice Cooper blew my mind. They sure know about music, and they talk about it with such passion. Keep on rockin' brothers!! Sincerely, A Loyal Western New York fan
Meet them all in 1980s in Utah,Very normal Dudes, tried to get me to go to Vegas with them.Oh, hell no ! Enough party girls there without me.Huge trofs of beer on ice!
I got to see these guys back in 90-91? didn't end well..with a drunk boyfriend at the time..had to babysit him..oh that was fun....pouring the rain during the concert...couldn't enjoy it because of his out of control antics...ended up leaving the concert and fighting with him..should have never went..but really wanted to see the band...no longer with that guy..got stupid enough to marry him and divorce him almost a year later..wished I could have enjoyed that concert in Corbin, Kentucky..We got pictures of them that turned out no good because of it being too dark and no flash.. :(
